She came down in the icey-blue gown that clings to her body exposing her curves and showing her cleavages and that makes her uncomfortable with the gown.
Is it her fault she's only used to covering up clothes? She walks down the stairs she sees him already dressed and seated on the couch sipping a glass of liquor.
Immediately he hears her heels hit majestically on the stairs he turns. He wasn't ready for this. His eyes widen in shock as he gets stunned at what his eyes see. She’s the most naive and pretty girl he has seen after his mother of course.
His mother is his first love but Iris is his queen and heiress. The dress is in perfect accordance with her exquisite beauty and poise personality. He watches her walk down with an air of prestige and confidence around her.
Her eyes are bliss-blue and she has an electrifying smile that melts his heart and half-moon cheekbones hair which is velvet-black and it strands down over her shoulders coiling over her swan neck. She has kiss-inspiring lips that are like cotton candy soft.
She has sparkling, white teeth and an angelic smile. Her grabbing smile and eyes dance with delight just like a terawatt. She’s curvaceous with an hourglass-shaped waist. Her nails are slightly long although not well treated and have glossy skin.
Dazzled at her beautiful looks, he knows for sure that her beauty will indeed smash his parents and this feeling is satisfying enough. She looks bigger and more mature than her age, especially with makeup.
She throws him a dashing smile as she walks toward him both still holding their gaze. They are both unwilling to leave or break the connection going on.
"You look beautiful" he blurts out without thinking. She gave a light smile which immediately colds down his anxiety. He too is nervous and he wonders why he’s this nervous. It's not his first time taking a lady for dinner, not the first time going to his parents for dinner.
"So let's go?' she asks breaking the silence with a smile.
"Oh yes. Dad and mom are waiting" he bends his arm in a V-sharp-like form and she crosses her arm against his and they walk to the car.
As a gentleman, he opens the passenger seat for her. She boldly seats in. It's a lie, she’s just pretending to be confident meanwhile, she’s dying of anxiety deep down. He seats by her and the car take off.
Meeting the “Walter” family, one of the most powerful and wealthy clans in the whole country is rare. Meeting them in person is a dream come through for many but without any effort, she’s privileged to have dinner with them.
The driving is going smoothly until when he turns the radio and it begins playing ‘shape of you by Ed Sheeran’. She loves the song very much still she finds it weird at this particular moment. A coincidence, she thought.
Nonetheless, she can't resist. She finds herself nodding her head to the slow rhythm. He notices her singing and immediately joined her. Just a minute ago they were really quiet and now they are doing a debut inside the car singing along at some point nearly holding each other's hand.
Then the song comes to an end and they both share a cheerful laugh. Gabriel hasn't laughed like this in a while and she was happy to see him laugh and show her his wonderful dentition.
It is then she realized that perhaps Mrs Rosa had made the right decision to marry her. And she knew that after a little moment they shared, things were going to get better between them…
"This is the first time that I get to see you smile. So smile often!” She smiles and he says nothing.
The car gets into the magnificent house, the pathway from the gate leading to the main house edifice is as big as that of a normal road. She thought Gabriel had a beautiful house but this, — in heaven. She thinks to herself but wows aloud.
In the car park, Gabriel comes down opening the door for her. He takes her hand helping her out of the car and they both enter the building in each other's arms.
Damn! The inside is way prettier than the outside. She marvels at how rich these people are. Indeed, she couldn't imagine so much luxury in her entire life, — not even in her wildest dream.
“Sir, ma'am you're both welcome. I'll inform Sir and Madam of your arrival. Follow me please" he lead the inside his mother walked down the stairs it was then she saw the striking resemblance between these two who could pass as twins as he looked so much like his mother but his father's features were his walking style and personality. She squealed like a kid as she embraces Iris so tightly.
"Wow! You're welcome, my dear son. She's pretty!" she says while caressing Iris's hair like that of a kid. Gabriel immediately understands that his mother is vividly acting up. She has always wished for a girl child but had two males instead, he and Collins.
“Come, my child. Come sit beside me” she holds her hand. Iris turns to Gabriel giving him the 'help me' look but instead, he ignores her and chuckles lightly and discreetly.
His father walks down shortly with his younger brother Collins behind him. “Son, you're welcome" they both share a handshake and embrace each other "Good evening, dad," he says.
He gives a fist bump to Collins as a sign of greeting which they both understand that Collins initiated. According to him, his elder brother Gabriel is too stiff and serious. “Good evening bro” Collins greets.
“Wow, you got a boom with you tonight!” Collins, whispers into Gabriel’s ears and he sneers angrily. “Chill, bro. I won't snatch her away from you. I will simply go to the orphanage and get mine!” he taunts but Gabriel doesn't find it funny at all.
“Good evening, sir" Iris bows to acknowledge his presence. “Good evening dear, you're welcome. Pretty one her, Gabriel" his father turns to his son giving him a thumbs-up kind of look.
"Please, do not be shy with us. Feel free. We’re family now" his mother rubs her back to solace her.
Later, they all seat down at the big round dining table. The chef aligns the dishes for dinner and her eyes widen with shock. All these goblet-shaped dishes and many cutleries are strange to her.
Yet when her eyes meet white rice with grilled chicken and pepper sauce, she smiles helplessly. She hardly or never had such at the orphanage so when coming to her new home she promised herself to eat all the good things she comes across as much as possible before he changes his mind and decides to send her back where she came from.
It also makes her smile heavily because glancing at the garnished table, she finally comes across a dish that she’s familiar with. Her stomach starts grumbling.
"Let's eat. It's not wise to keep the food waiting" his father says and everyone digs in. She’s new to using cutleries but a master at using a spoon.
Gabriel notices her uneasiness and picks up a spoon instead to make her feel relaxed. She smiles and picked up a spoon and joins time in the silent eating. The only sound in the room is that of forks and spoons hitting against the plates.
The food is so nice that she gets thrilled and forgets herself. She drips her spoon that is slowing her and she holds the wing of chicken from her plate with her hands and begins to eat it passionately.
That beautiful and astonishing lady in a Cinderella gown suddenly swivels into a critter in a beautiful gown. She devours the chicken and breaks every bone with no mercy. She chews the bones until it becomes ash.
The next minute, they are all looking at her with disappointment, especially, Gabriel, he’s so embarrassed. Nonetheless, except for Collins who founds it enjoyable, “I think I'm being too like, this girl!” he murmurs staring at her with a huge smile on his face.
