"Fvck you, Kelly! I told you to have patience!" Marina yelled as she entered the kitchen with him following behind her.
"Man, it's been two months and you still with the games. Make a choice, M or I'm walking out the door."
Marina turned to look at him and seen he was serious. He acted as if she was asking him so high of her and all he wanted to do is pressure more.
"Then leave, s**t. I don't give a fvck." She said plainly.
Kelly glared at her, "All I asked was for patience." She said.
Exhaling sharply, Kelly shook his head and turned out the kitchen, grabbing his keys along the way before walking out her house.
Marina sat still before finding the courage to move. All Kelly wanted to do was rush into a relationship even after overlooking the talk they had about patience but he wanted to rush and that was pulling Marina further back.
She heard a knock on her door and she went to get it. Assuming it was probably Kelly who had left something it turned out to be Sulem.
"I need to vent." She said holding up the wine bottle.
"Me too" she turned and let Sulem close the door.
Entering back into the kitchen, Marina grabbed to nice cleaned and new wine glasses. She set the on the counter and waited for Sulem to settle in and pour the wine into the glass.
"I noticed Kelly sped off."
Rolling her eyes, Marina said "I'm getting sick of him ass." She said as she grabbed the glass and took a long sip.
"What happened?"
"He's rushing me into a relationship with him when I keep telling him I'm not ready." She frowned before she finished off the wine.
"Slow down, M."
She motioned for Sulem to pour more in her glass. Sulem hesitantly did so. She never seen her drink like this. It must have been serious.
"Well why don't you be with him?"
"Because....because I don't feel like it would be a great turn out. I mean look at what happen with you and Chris, no offense. Kelly, aka MGK the famous rapper."
Sulem took a sip of her wine before nodding. It was understandable.
"I see but Chris played me. I mean he knew I could have lost my job and luckily I didn't."
"What is wrong with our men." Marina said before downing the wine.
Sulem chuckled and grabbed the glass from her. "I think you had enough for right now."
Marina rolled her eyes before turning to her fridge and opening the freezer, grabbing her ice cream.
"So how's life with out your heart?"
Sulem sighed. "It was nothing serious. I helped him out and I wish him the best." She said as Marina grabbed two spoons out the drawer.
"That's bull, Sulem and you know it." She said as she opened the bucket of cookies and cream ice cream.
"It was more than just a fling. Y'all were actually into—whatever y'all had and as a friend and your sister, I supported y'all. You were actually coming out of your shell around him. Slowly."
Sulem sighed and took the spoon out of Marina's hand and got some, putting it in her mouth.
"I just....I don't know, Marina. He was so caring and I am affected by his absence. I just—"
"Miss him."
Sulem stayed silent as she put more ice cream into her mouth.
"I see but—"
"I have never felt this affected by a man in my life. It's like half of my brain is begging me to call him. Not giving a care what he did. But the other was still pissed and angry for what he did."
Nodding, Marina said, "Just call him."
"I-I can't. I told him—"
"Forget what you told him. I bet you he miss you just as much."
Sulem exhaled and took a long sip of wine, finishing it before pouring more.
"We need a vacation."
"I need that right now." Sulem said.
Marina put a spoon full of ice cream in her mouth before saying, "What about going to Miami beach. I always wanted to rub my feet in the sand."
Sulem thought for a second, "What about this weekend. We leave this Friday and we comeback next Tuesday."
"Sounds great to me. I never used my vacation days anyway."
"It's settled then." They clicked their wine glasses together and drank to that.
"Wait, won't Chris be up their?"
Marina waved her off, "From what Kelly told me, he's moving up there next weekend so, no you won't be running into that man of yours." She smirked which made Sulem roll her eyes slightly.
The two really needed this. But little did they know, surprises were coming their way.
Girls trip
Friday
"Your already packed?" Joyce questioned her son as she took in the sight of clothes folded and some in a suit case.
"Yeah." Chris replied as he continued to pack things in the case.
The room fell silent and Chris looked up at his mother. He noticed the safe expression on her face as she looked around.
He sighed, "I'm only going to be gone for a month. I'll be back."
"A month is long." She said.
Joyce was a bit worried about her son. Ever since she was told about him releasing the pictures of him and Sulem followed by her moving out, he's been off.
"Mo—"
"I'm just worried about you Chris. It's been a month since those pictures of you and Sulem got released and their still questioning more on your relationship with her. And you were traded to Miami Heat before any of this happened and now your off to Miami for a month."
She exhaled loudly before continuing. "Is something going on that you don't want to tell me?"
Chris stayed silent and tensed a bit when his mother asked, "Is it Sulem?"
Chris sighed, remaining silent and zipped the suitcase after making sure everything was in there.
"You should call her."
"It's been a month and I know for a fact she doesn't want to talk to me, let alone hear me. But I can only blame myself."
Confusion appeared on Joyce face as she stared at her son. "Why do you say that?"
Chris bit his lip and shook his head. "Because I exposed the pictures."
Joyce looked at her son as if he spoke another language. "Why do such a thing Chris? She so innocent and she probably had lost her job—"
"She didn't. I made sure she didn't."
"Why expose the pictures of you knew she could have almost lost her job? It doesn't make any sense Chris."
Chris ran a hand down his face. He told Sulem he did it for a reason and that reason was opposite to hurting her.
"I did it because of...." he trailed off. "I did it because of Tasha."
"Tasha? Don't tell me son that you are getting back with her. She is a mental girl that needs help and—"
"No ma, I'm not getting back with her." Chris said quickly before taking a seat on the bed. He sighed and palmed his face.
"I never meant to hurt her, Ma."
Joyce sat next to him and patted his back. She saw how corrupted her son was and how he missed Sulem.
"Chris...why not tell her."
He rubbed his face and looked straight ahead at his wall. "I went to see Tasha days ago. I apologized for everything and even the things that I didn't have to. I tried to let her down easy but I can tell the sad act was all bullshit."
"Chris" Joyce spoke in warning.
"I'm sorry but Tasha ain't hurting mine. So I figure the best way to keep Sulem safe was to expose the pictures and make her mad at me. Tell Tasha." He said before continuing.
"I know Tasha would try or do everything in her power to have me and I did not want her to hurt Sulem because of me."
Nodding as she understood where Chris was coming from, "I understand but we need to call the police and then get you a restraining order."
"I doubt that would even work."
Joyce sighed, "Your right....what do you want to do?"
Chris's exhaled. He didn't even know what to do. "Ignore the problem for now."
Danger was lurking ahead
