"Hello" Sulem answered her phone as she drove down the street getting closer to Chris.
"Well it is nice to hear your voice again?" The deep voice chuckled into the phone.
"Miguel?"
"Yes babe. You say it better than your mother."
Sulem cringed, "You sick bastard. How did you get my number?"
"How you think, babygirl. It took a minute to fvck it out of your mother but I eventually got it."
Sulem was about to hang up until he said something that got her attention. "You thought you could leave me, Sulem. You are mine and nobody else's."
Sulem scoffed, "What? You think your going to come and get me?"
"That's exactly what I'm going to do. I know where you live. I know you run on the track every Monday and Friday. In fact I even saw that basketball player leave your house."
Sulem tensed up. She knew Miguel was crazy but something was going on in his head. That's why she moved to Georgia after college. Miguel was a high school sweetheart but when she found out he had slept with her mother and even her closest cousin she had cut them all off. Her mother even said Miguel was a bad person but she believed her mother just wanted him to herself and she was alright with that. She could careless about any of them. They all put her down speaking of her never going to somebody. That is why she is a self made woman.
Sulem hanged the phone up and she had just pulled up in his driveway and looked around. She didn't see his car here. He probably had something to do. She got out the car and walked up to his door. She put her hand up to knock and stopped when the door suddenly opened.
It wasn't Chris....
It was a pretty light skin girl with light freckles that looked to be in her early twenties. The girl smiled as she took in Sulem's appearance.
"You must be Sulem."
Sulem gave her a awkward smile as they shook hands.
"Yes and you are?"
"Ryan Hawkins. I'm Chris sister."
"Oh nice to meet you."
Ryan opened the door wider for her to enter in.
"Mama guess who I just met." She said as the two walked into the kitchen.
Joyce looked up from what she was doing and smiled at the sight of Sulem. "Hello Sulem, how you been."
Sulem gave her a smile, "I'm doing good. And you?"
"Peachy. I'm about to make some of my famous lasagna and I want you to stay for dinner."
Sulem agreed as she thought of having nothing else to do. She just wondered were Chris has gone.
"If you don't mind me asking, do you know where Chris is?"
Joyce shook her head, "I haven't seen him since yesterday but that was earlier in the day. Why? Is something wrong?"
"No, it's just I have to tell him about the new therapist that will be replacing me during his last month of therapy."
Joyce exhaled and said, "Did that son of mine do something to you?"
"Of course not. It's just I have personal issues I have to work out."
Sulem was in and out of the three way conversation as her mind went in and out. Miguel knew where she lives and follows her around Atlanta. She felt unsafe and she felt Miguel would do something to Chris if she kept messing with him.
Just then the door opened and closed letting them know Chris walked through the door.
"Chris is that you?" Joyce yelled.
"Yeah."
Chris walked into the kitchen and surprise took on his face as he noticed his sister and Sulem here.
"Hey big bro!" Ryan said as she walked up to her brother and hugged him. Chris hugged her back and let his eyes lock with Sulem's.
She turned away as she felt her face heat up and asked to use the bathroom.
"Go ahead dear." Joyce smiled
Sulem left the family and made her way through the big house and finally found the bathroom.
She grew slightly irritated that it was no lock. She looked at herself in the mirror before turning on the faucet on and grabbed a paper towel and wet it. She turned it off before dabbing the wet cloth over her eyes.
Without knocking, Chris entered the bathroom. He closed the door and pulled Sulem closer to him.
"What's wrong?"
Sulem met his gaze and quickly turned away. "Nothing."
"Is it about last night?"
Sulem felt her cheeks heat up and she fought the smile that wanted to appear on her face but she failed miserably.
Chris smiled and grabbed her chin making her look at him.
"So it meant something to you?" Chris questioned.
"Yes. Did it mean something to you?" She asked him.
"Honestly, it did. And I hope that is not the last time we do that."
Sulem hid her face in her hands and Chris found it cute how she tried to hide. He grabbed her hands and pecked her lips.
"No need to hide, beautiful."
The things he do to me
"Are you crazy!" Marina fussed at Sulem as Sulem slid her jacket on. "Your really going to meet that asshole?" Marina spoke again.
"Yes, Marina." Sulem exhaled.
"He knows where you live and knows what you do every day. He's stalking you." Marina went on.
Sulem nodded her head and grabbed her keys. "That's why I'm meeting him."
Marina scoffed, "No, you need to report his stalking ass to the police."
Sulem looked over at her friend and gave her a small smile. "Marina, I know your worried but it is nothing to worry about. I'll be back before you know it."
"And where exactly are you going?" Marina said as her right brow raised.
"To Dennie's."
Marina looked at her friend and sighed. She nodded. Sulem hugged her and was out the door.
Marina watched Sulem get into her car and pull out her driveway. She pulled out her phone and dialed Kelly's number.
"What's up babe."
"Hey baby, I need a favor."
"Yeah?"
Marina sighed, "I need Chris number. Sulem is about to do something and I'm worried."
"I got you babe."
"Thank you"
The needed the call and Marina waited on Kelly to send the number. She knew Sulem would be a bit upset for calling Chris and telling him that her crazy ex is stalking her but she was doing this for Sulem. Marina seen Sulem as a sister and basically the only family she has.
A ding came from her phone and Kelly had a number under the grey box. She clicked on it and waited patiently for him to answer.
"Hello."
"Hey Chris, it's Marina."
"Wassup, M."
"It's Sulem".....

Sulem waited at a nice set up table as she waited for Miguel to show up.
She had no idea why she agreed to meet with him but to tell the truth he would just keep following her and Sulem was not up for that.
She felt her phone vibrate and grabbed it off the table. She seen Chris name on her screen and just when she was about to answer it, Miguel took a seat in the chair across from her.
She cut her phone off and placed it on her lap.
"It's nice to see you again, Sulem. You look beautiful." He complemented
Sulem sighed, "Look Miguel, I'm here because I want to talk to you about the stalking bullshit. I will ask on—"
A dark laugh escaped Miguel's lips as he stared at Sulem. Sulem didn't find anything funny and grew more irritated at the fact she did not finish.
"Mamí, my eyes are always watching you."
"I'm going to tell you once and only once to keep to your damn self or I will get the police involved." She said grabbing her purse and phone before getting up.
"That's all you wanted to waste your time on?"
Sulem ignored him and left the man money for the wine before walking off.
Miguel lost control and got up, going after her. Just as Sulem hit the corner, he slammed her against the wall taking her by surprise.
"You want to walk away when I'm talking to you?" He spoke through gritted teeth.
"Get off me!" Sulem tried to push him away but his grip tightened around her. She sent a flying hand across his face and instantly regretted doing that.
He smacked her back with much power causing her to hit the ground.
"What now, b***h!"
"Aye!" Miguel turned and before he new it, a fist connected with his face which made Miguel hit his head on the glass. He fell to the ground holding his nose, groaning in pain.
Sulem felt an arm grab her off the ground and grab her belongings off the ground. She looked up and saw a pissed off Chris.
Leading her to his car. Sulem wanted to ask how he knew where she was but decided against it.
Chris opened the passenger seat door and Sulem got in. He placed her stuff in her lap before closing the door.
More like slamming it.
Sulem held her aching cheek as she kept her head down. She heard Chris get in and slam his door shut.
He started the car and was off. She so badly wanted to ask how he felt right now but she feared it would piss him off more.
What did I do?
