Sulem walkedout her room fully dressed and ready to get started. The faster she helps him the sooner the leave. She walked up the stairs, straight to his room. She opened the door without knocking and found him sleep. This wasn't going to work. Sulem gave him a schedule and the times he should be up.  It's always to better to start early so you wouldn't have much to do later. She also had another patient to work with around 12 to 1. Without a care, Sulem began to shake him. Low groans escaped his lips as he turned the opposite way, away from her. "Mr. Brown, we have to start." Chris didn't budge. He was awake but more like sleep. Sulem huffed and walked out the room. Since he wanted to be difficult she could play his game. She headed down the stairs going straight to the kitchen. She opened the freezer and pulled out the small like ice bag. She set it on the counter and bent down opening a cabinet, pulling out a pot that was just the right size. She put it in the sink before turning on the faucet on cold. As the pot filled, Sulem poured the ice into the pot. She knew he was going to wake up very angry and that would not phase her. She waited for an opportunity to do something like this even though she's been here for only a day and some hours. She cut the water off and grabbed the heavy cold pot. She headed up the stairs slowly and when she got to the room, she peeked in. Still sleep. A smirk formed on her lips as she made it towards his side of the bed. She threw the water on him and he instantly shot up. "What the—!" He yelled as his eyes met hers. "Time to get up" Sulem said as if she didn't threw ice cold water on him. Chris glared at her as she looked back at his drenched face. Tears of water ran down his smooth face. His face a bit tint of red as his blood boiled. "What the hell is wrong with you!" He snapped at her as she stood to her feet. Sulem shrugged, "Nothing is wrong with me. I tried to wake you up but you decided to have other plans and fall back to sleep." Chris sat up and wiped the water off his face with his hand. He looked back up at Sulem who was laughing in the inside. "Come on, we have work to do." She stood there holding the pot on her side. He nodded but frown when she was still standing there. "I said ok. Let me get dressed" he said harshly, pulling the wet sheets off him. Sulem turned on her heels, walking out the room with a smile on her face. *** "Agh stop! That hurts!" Chris groaned in pain as Sulem tried to raise his leg higher. "It's going to be painful but you need to make a certain amount of progress each day." Chris scoffed, "By you lifting my leg to where I can't take it?" Sulem rolled her eyes. "No but it would help if you kept your leg elevated. Besides, I thought you were a man" she said as she gently placed his leg down on the bed mat. Chris frowned as he used his hands to sit up. He winced a bit as he felt more to his leg. "What do you mean by that?" He questioned as he felt her smooth hands massage his knee. It felt good to him, no pain felt. "I mean I thought all men like yourself could handle anything. Especially pain such as this." He shook his head at her words and watched her as she continued to massage his leg. She then stopped and looked at him. "So you do need my help." she smirked "Whatever man, continue massaging my knee" Sulem chuckled as she massaged his knee. This was good, Sulem thought. Even though it might take more it will take time to get him out his careless, tough shell. But the real question is, could she handle it? Sunlight shined in through the blinds in Chris face causing him to open his eyes before quickly shutting them, turning around to open his eyes. As his eyes adjusted to the room, he began to think. Letting his mind take over. It's been a good few days since he started this little therapy. He couldn't deny that Sulem was a miracle worker because she was. He realized that he's been a bit childish and he wanted to show an apology. Just when he sat up, Sulem entered the room with his water and pain medication. As always she had a smile on her face. "Here goes your water and medication." She said setting them on his dresser. Chris was thankful, not wanting to go downstairs himself, putting his leg through that pain. He reached for the pills and put them in his mouth before grabbing the water bottle and taking swigs. "No thank you?" Sulem crosses her arms. Chris released a breath, "Thank you." he rolled his eyes. Sulem decided to sit down at the edge of his bed. It was quite comfortable, Sulem thought. "So, today we are going to try to get you walking." Chris sighed. To be honest he was not up for that type of pain yet but he needed to suck it up. "Ight. But only if you massage my knee." Sulem rolled her eyes as a smile grew upon her face. "Alright, but only if—" Sulem was cut short due to the doorbell going off. She looked at Chris one last time before getting up to go get it. Sulem traveled down the stairs before opening the door. There stood a man with beautiful colored eyes and full lips. "Well, hello to you." the man smiled down at Sulem. Sulem ignored it and asked, "Who are you?" "Twan and you must be Sulem, Chris new therapist." "That I am." She replied as she stepped to the side allowing him access to walk in. "Chris is upstairs but we'll be starting our session in less than twenty minutes" Sulem said, closing the door back. Twan lifted a brow. "So what happens in these sessions?" He questioned Sulem rolled her eyes as she gestured upstairs. She was in no mood for ignorance or assumptions. Twan chuckled as he headed up the stairs, making his way to Chris room. Just when he entered the room, Chris was exiting out the bathroom with his crutches. "Well if it isn't thee Chris Brown" Chris shook his head and slapped hands with Twan. Chris limped his way on crutches to take a seat on the couch he had in his bedroom. "Wassup man? How you been?" Twan asked as he took a seat on the opposite couch. "Been workin through this therapy but what's goin' on with the team?" Silence filled the room. Chris was anxious for an answer but the silence had more than enough to answer his questions. "Man, they really giving up on me." Chris mumbled "It's not as bad as it seems." Twan said, trying to give his friend hope. "The hell you mean it's not as bad as it seems? Coach sending me to another team!" Chris snapped, felt his blood boil. They really think his career was over. It's only been some weeks since the incident. "Fvck man!" Chris shouted in anger. He was beyond pissed and by tomorrow, he was going to have some words with Coach E. "Yo chill, it me—" "Let yourself out man" Chris carefully stood to his feet, grabbing his crutches. "Chris—" "I'm not hearin' what you about to say." He said harshly walking with his crutches to the bathroom. Twan exhaled and left out the room. As Twan walked downstairs he ran into Sulem. When she saw his down face expression Sulem frowned. "Everything went okay?" "Not for Chris. Rumors are getting out, talking about the end of his career . Once I told him that, he did not want to be bother and I'm going to give him that." "I'll talk to him" she said without hesitation. Twan sighed. "As stubborn as he is good luck with that. Tell him I'll see him later." She nodded and waited for him to walk out the door. She headed upstairs and entered the room. She saw no sight of Chris. She was about to walk out and look in another room until she heard glass breaking coming from the bathroom. She hurried to the opened bathroom door and saw it trashed. Chris was on a rampage. "Chris!" Sulem yelled hoping he'd stop but he continued trashing the bathroom, throwing and breaking things. She noticed his face was wet under his eyes. Was he crying? Sulem walked further into the bathroom and grabbed his right arm, stopping him. He was hot—literally. He was burning up. He was shaking as his face was turned away from her. He bit his lip as he kept himself from throwing more things. "Chris...." she spoke softly hoping he'd face her. Without thinking, Sulem grabbed his chin and turned his face towards her. She met his light brown eyes and saw a broken soul. Rumors that might actually be true was corrupting him. She found herself caressing his cheek and that's when his wall went down. Before she knew it, his lips crashed down onto hers. And the worse part—she kissed back.
