“There's no way.”
I kept staring at the dark-haired woman. Her eyes, her skin, everything drew me back in time to that night. It was her, it had to be. A sudden rush of emotions that I couldn't place filled me. I still thought about her once in a while. No one after her was the right fit for me. There was always something missing, something I couldn't place.
I walked towards her and she gave a very panicked look, almost immediately. If she could magically disappear into the ground, she would have. Still, the only place she could have gone was inside the house, but that would be too blatant.
There were no words in my head, so I didn't know what I was going to say to her, but I closed the gap between us, anyway.
