Saturday.
Anna was taking a shower when her phone rung. Mark answered sleepy.
“Hello? Oh good morning Mrs Simons, yes she is taking a shower.”
At the same time Anna came out.
“Oh there she is” he said and handed the phone to Anna.
“Your mother” he said and went back to bed.
Anna took the phone.
“Hi mom. Yes, I will leave in an hour, just got out of the shower. Yes, no he will not come. Yes mom I will stay there for the night and I will leave tomorrow. OK, yes I will drive carefully. See you later” she said and hung up the phone.
“Mark?” Anna turned to him.
“Mhm?” He said with closed eyes.
She sat in bed next to him.
“Are you sure you don't want to come?”
“Yes” he said. “Enjoy the day with your parents.” he replied keeping his eyes closed.
Anna gave him a soft kiss on his lips.
“Thank you love.” She said and started getting dressed.
Mark checked his phone. Hmm he thought, she hadn't text me yet.
Nora woke up early. Prepared coffee and breakfast and was waiting for the rest to come over. They arrived at the hotel last night and Nora invited them for breakfast so that they can discuss the situation.
An hour later the door bell rung.
Nora opened and saw 10 smiley faces waiting for her.
“Oh my God, she said, is so nice to have you all here.”
Amy hugged her.
“It's nice to finally see you. How long has it been? 4 months?”
“I guess so” Nora said smiling and invited all in.
They sat around the table and started eating.
“I didn't realize how hungry I was” Alex said with full mouth.
Mary looked at him and smiled.
“Everything is sooo delicious” she said.
“OK, so tell us, Phil said. When will you meet with Mark?”
“We haven't said the time yet, Nora answered. I am going to text him after breakfast”.
“OK, James said. So, I guess you will meet with him first and we will be there as well but we'll meet you guys later right?”
“I don’t think is a good idea to speak with each other. I mean he will suspect that something is odd if in a small city being new, I accidentally run into 10 people that I know.”
“You are right but he met me, so I think it would be safe and wise to talk to you” Phil said.
“And what do you think? Will he remember you?" Kevin asked.“I don’t know but I don’t want to take the risk.”
Nora nodded
“I agree.” she said.
“OK, so text him” Sarah said.
Nora took her phone and saw a message from Mark.
“Well, he texted me first” she said smiling.
“I would be surprised if he hadn't” James said.
“What has daddy texted you?” Alex asked
Nora laughed and read out loud: "Good morning. How are you? Shall we meet today at 2 pm in front of the museum? Mark"
“OK, answer him” Mary said
Nora texted him: "Good morning. Yes, the time is good. See you at 2 pm"
“Awesome! After this delicious breakfast, it’s time for us to leave. After all, you need to get ready for daddy, mom” Alex said and everyone laughed.
