Three

Phil was walking up and down the street worried. Why is it taking so long? He wondered. He looked his phone and realized that only 30 minutes had gone by. It seemed forever, he thought. His phone rang.

"Hi Amy."

"Is she still inside?"

"Yes, I am waiting for her. Are you guys together?"

"Yes, we are at Alex’s place."

"OK, I will give you a call once she is out."

"Got it.  Phil, do you think that she will make it?" She asked him worried.

"I trust her" Phil replied.

She took a deep breath.

"OK" she said "Please do not forget to call us once she is out."

"I will" said Phil and hung up the phone.

At the same time, the central door opened. He turned his head full of hope and he saw a man coming out of the building. He turned his head back but something made him to look the man again.

He saw him holding a cigarette without having the intention of lighting it up. He seemed lost in his thoughts. Phil went closer to him.

"Need a fire?" Phil asked whilst he was observing him.

Mark looked at him kind of confused.

"Ooh, no no thank you. I guess I will not light this one up." Mark said looking at his cigarette. 

"OK, is a bad habit after all" said Phil.

"I agree,"Mark said smiling.

Suddenly, the sky turned darker and a lightning crossed the sky.

Phil was still looking at Mark. He realized that Mark was staring at the sky.

"Are you afraid of lightnings?" Phil asked Mark.

"It may come to you as a surprise but no, on the contrary I’d say, they calm me down. Ever since I was a child. It felt somehow that with every lightning, I was feeling relieved. I used to sit by my window watching the sky waiting for one."

Phil smiled.

"I understand completely" he said.

"What about you? Are you afraid of lightnings?" Mark asked him.

"Not really. Honestly, I like the rain more. I guess I am a water boy."

"So you like getting wet" said Mark laughing.

"Something like that" Phil answered laughing as well.

"I am Mark" he said smiling. "Nice to meet you."

Phil looked at him and answered:

"And I am Phil."

They did a handshake and Mark looked at his watch.

"Oh my god, time flies!" I am very sorry Phil but I have to go back to the office.

"I understand" Phil said. "Was nice meeting you."

"You too, I guess I’ll see you around" said Mark and entered the building.

Oh you have no idea, Phil thought and grabbed his phone immediately.

"Amy is me. No no she is still inside but, I met him. He is here."

An hour later...

Nora went out of the building and saw Phil sitting on a bench waiting for her. He saw her and stood up fast.

"Finally" said Phil. "What took you so long?"

Nora smiled.

"Come on Phil, I was inside almost for an hour, this is less than usual you know?!"

"Yes but it seemed forever! So what happened?" Phil asked.

"Well, it went well I suppose. They seemed very happy and I have the feeling that they will give me the job!" Said Nora smiling.

"OK that is good!"

"Yes"she said. "And Phil, we were right, he is here. I saw him!"

"I know" said Phil looking at her. "I met him."

"What you mean you met him?" She asked him surprised.

"It was like 10 minutes before you came. He was looking lost in his thoughts but we had a small chat. Did he see you as well?"

"Yes, he took the same elevator as me and we talked a bit. I think he was flirting with me, or he was just polite?! Hard to say" said Nora thinking.

Phil laughed.

"Yes,  you could never say this with certainty, about him."

"Tell me about it!" Said Nora and laughed as well. "Anyway, we did not had enough time, he just asked me if I was new here and that he hopes I get the job so that we can see each other more frequently."

"Oh my God, he will never change!!!" Said Phil laughing. He took his phone and started dialing Amy’s number. "We have to inform the rest. They are waiting" he said.

At the same time, Nora’s phone rang.

"Hello?" Nora answered.

"Nora, hi. I am Caroline, we had the interview together."

"Caroline, of course!"

"Apologize for bothering you, but I have great news and I wanted to share them with you straight away." 

Nora stopped walking and grabbed Phil’s hand. She put Caroline on speaker.

"OK go ahead please" she said.

"We decided to give you the job Nora, congratulations!"

Nora looked at Phil and they both smiled at each other with a relief.

"Thank you Caroline. I really appreciate the opportunity!"

"You deserve it! You did really well on the interview! The contract will be send to you via email first. Once received, please read it thoroughly and send us your comments, if any. Then , we will send it by post over to you. Once it is signed, please kindly send it back to us. If you need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. I am looking forward to working with you."

"Thank you Caroline, you have no idea what does that means to me! I will inform you once I receive the contract. Have a nice day and thank you again!"

"You are welcome. Wish you the same and will be in touch. Bye!"

She hung up the phone and Phil gave her a huge hug!

"Well done sis!" He said and hugged her.

"Oh my god! I made it!" Said Nora excited.

"Yes you did! Let’s inform the others now. I am sure they are very worried" said Phil smiling.
