Nora and Phil reached the hotel just before the rain begun.
“You are lucky” said the doorman at the hotel and smiled at them.
“It seems we are” Phil replied gazing outside the glass door whilst the rain was purring down and smiled back.
They entered the hotel and headed to their rooms.
“In 30 minutes meet me in my room” Nora said.
“Alright” Phil confirmed
Nora went out on the 3rd floor while Phil continued to the 7th.
She entered her room and went immediately for a shower. Once finished, she looked at herself in the mirror. What a day! She thought. Everything went better than expected. She smiled at herself happily. Suddenly she became serious. Such a weird feeling though. I remember him but he needs time to remember me, to remember who he is, to remember the rest of us.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the knocking on the door.
She opened the door and saw Phil smiling at her.
“Are you ready?” he asked.
“More than you think” she replied.
They sat together and made a video call.
Amy answered immediately.
“What took you so long?” she asked.
“Actually, is my fault. I wanted to take a shower but now we are ready” Nora answered smiling.
“OK, so tell us what happened today” Kevin said.
Nora started explaining her day, what happened on the elevator with Mark, during the interview and the call once she got out of the building. Everyone was listening very carefully.
Then Phil said his story on how he met Mark.
“OK, after listening both of you carefully, I would say that we made a good start and it is great that he feels the connection with the lightning” Lilly said.
“I agree” said Alex. “What does he look like?”
“Well, he is really handsome, tall, great body, dark hair with deep blue eyes and a great smile” Nora said.
“I was not expecting anything less” Sarah commented.
“Obviously I am not the best person to give you such information. I fall for him in every lifetime” Nora said and everyone laughed.
“Yes, you did. It did not even stopped when he came back as a woman…” Phil said without being able to stop laughing.
“Oh my God, I hated him so much for that.” Nora said laughing as well.
“Maybe you should try to do the same at some point” Kate said.
“Well, I will definitely give some thought on that, Nora said, but let’s try to save ourselves for now”
Everyone laughed.
“OK, so what’s the next step?” Phil asked.
“First, we need to reach out to him. Nora, you have to become friends with him” Amy said.
“I don’t think that this will be difficult” Nora said thinking.
“No, it won’t, the difficult part will be that you have to be careful with words. As you know, since he is connected with you, you have to avoid some words. Do you remember them?”
“Yes, Nora said, I have to avoid the words lightning, thunder, skylight and storm”
“Exactly” Kevin said.
“And these words are only forbidden for me?”
“Yes, Phil said, the rest of us can use these words in front of him but not you”
“This is unfair” Nora said
“Unfair or not, it is what it is” Sarah said.
“Each one of us had to deal with it. I was not allowed to use some words around Sarah as well” Tony commented.
“I know, is just that is very difficult sometimes. Especially when the words are quite common”
“We can all understand, I also had to be very careful with you at the beginning, but you’ll see that it will get easier with time” Phil told her.
“Guys, one more thing” Amy said “When do you think is a good opportunity for us to meet him?”
“Hmmm we will have to plan this very carefully” Phil said. “It will be the first time for this lifetime that all 12 of us will be together”
“Yes” Kevin said “We have to be careful, but I honestly think that is better to discuss this once the time comes”.
“I agree “ Nora said.
“OK, well is getting late so we will leave you to get some rest. Nora, when do you start?” Amy asked.
“Next month” Nora said.
“OK, great. We’ll be in touch” Mary said.
“Bye guys” Phil said and closed the video call.
“What a day!” Nora said and took a deep breath.
“Tell me about it” Phil said. “But it was so worth it”.
“I still cannot believe that we found him” Nora said.
“Believe it sis, we found your man” Phil said smiling.
Nora laughed really hard.
“Oh my God” she said “In every lifetime”
Back at Mark's place.
“Thank you guys for having us over” Niko said.
Anna smiled.
“Our pleasure” she said. “No JJ, leave everything as they are. We will take care of that”
JJ smiled and put the plate back on the table.
Mark stood up and reached to Niko.
“Thank you for coming” he said.
“How are you?” he asked him, still concerned.
“Better thank you” Mark said.
“It’s not raining so heavily anymore” JJ said. “I think we should go now Niko”
“Are you sure? You can stay here if you would like to” Anna said.
“No, thank you. We will go home” Niko answered.
“OK but promise to text us once you get home”
“Of course Anna” JJ said and gave her a hug.
“Have a good night and drive safely” Anna said hugging her back.
Niko and JJ left and Mark closed the door. He was observing Anna cleaning up the table and bringing the plates in the kitchen. What's wrong wth me, he thought. I am with this amazing woman and I cannot stop thinking of the other one. And the worst part is that I don't even know her. Come on Mark, pull yourself together.
He went behind her and put his arms around her waist.
“Mmm, this feels so good” she said and put her head on his chest.
“I am sorry for today” he said.
Anna left the dishes in the sink and turned her face to him.
“For what?” she said
“For yelling at you”
“There is nothing to apologize for” she said smiling at him.
He kissed her while his hands were running all over her body
“OK” she pushed him “Let me finish this and we can continue in a few seconds”
He smiled satisfied.
“I am going to have a shower. Join me” he said
“I will. Give me a few more minutes”
“Great”” he said and kissed her passionately.
