***Lauren***
"Mom, I dont want to go!"
I have voiced my disagreement since Uncle Cash had put it out there: This is my home, my pack. I didnt want to leave because of what happened. Im supposed to be a Beta. How does that look if I cant stand in a fight, Im being shipped off at the first signs of a battle? That dont make me look like a strong Beta is makes me look like a little girl whose family is placing her in hiding,
"Hunnie, this is for your safety." My mother tells me,
"No. It's not. How am I to show I can handle being the Beta if the first thing that happens is im being whisked off to god knows where!"
I throw my arms up, and We were to be leaving first thing in the morning. Uncle Cash said ot was all set up with this other pack,
"Betas are to stand with their Alpha, not be hidden away like some weak little wolf."
"Hunnie, you need to look at it from your father's point of view; you are his daughter; Rogues tried to take you. It's his fear that drives him and his fatherly instinct to protect his children,"
I shook my head and said, "It's not fair, Mom. I can handle myself. Im not a child anymore,"
I was becoming rather angry. I understood her point, and my father's to a degree, but still, they did not even talk to me about it. They just put things in motion without thinking of involving my thoughts. Now, they want me to give up my life and hide away like a coward.
"Lauren, sweetie, listen," She moved to sit next to me, "Sometimes, as parents, we have to make hard decisions, and we carry fears and worries. I know you are angry right now, and you think everything is against you, and you have every right to be upset, But please understand that this is only to protect you; we are not trying to make you feel like you are a child, All we want is for you to be safe, right now we dont know what that boy is up to, those we not your everyday run of the mill rogues, So please do not look at it as if we are purposely trying to ruin your life, We are trying to make sure you are safe. This is also hard for us, knowing we had to send you away and not keep you here close."
My shoulder drops at her words. I feel a small amount of fight leave me. I know my parents would never set out to ruin my life, and im not trying to sound like a spoiled brat. I dont want to be away from my family and pack. I have never stayed anywhere other than here. I know no other place; I've only slept over at Tony's.
She brushes some of my hair out of my face as her hand touches my shoulder. She gives me her classic mom smile,
"I dont mean to throw a tantrum, Mom. I want to be included in some of these decisions. Maybe if they all would have asked me what I felt was a good idea or maybe spoken to me about it, not just come in barking orders and assuming I would go along with whatever they laid out in front of me,"
"I can understand you wanting to be a part of it all; it has to do with you. Your father can be a little overbearing," She chuckles,
"It's just him," I scoffed back.
I was so mad at Tony and Uncle Cash as well. All three of them just took over without a single care about what my thoughts were. Are they the ones who have to uproot their life? No, but I guess that dont count. All that does matter is what they say goes,
I had packed up two duffle bags and one smaller suitcase. No one was sure how long I would be staying, So I made sure to take enough clothes and personal effects with me,
I was seated in the back of one of my uncle's SUVs as he drove us. All I knew was that this pack was two towns away And that ALpha Leo and his Luna Lorraine were the ones who agreed to help by letting me stay.
I still haven't spoken much to Tony OR my father in the last few days after they dropped the bomb about me having to leave, and after spending two days in that vehicle wasnt helping to lighten my mood,
He sat next to me. I knew he wanted to talk to me; I saw him glancing over occasionally, but I was too stubborn. Uncle Cash said we should be reaching there in about an hour,
I looked out the side window as the scenery passed, not that there was much to see. It was primarily wood, and it seemed to be getting thicker as we traveled along,
I felt the car slow down as we turned off the road onto a dirt road. Tony shifted in his seat next to me. I could hear his breathing pick up. I caught a glimpse of some wolves running off in the distance. My stomach did a little dance as we traveled down the road. When a bog iron gate came into view, We didnt see anyone standing there. Coming to a stop, a man stepped out from the side brush,
Approaching the car, Uncle Cash rolled down his window,
"Can I help you?" The man asked,
"Yes, Im here to see Alpha Leo, My name is Alpha Cash and my beta with our children,"
"IS the Alpha expecting you?"
"Yes, he is. I spoke to him the other day,"
He glanced to the back seat. I noticed his eyes were yellow,
"I need to check in with my Alpha," The man said as he stood up, Uncle Cash just nodded at him,
"Well, at least we know you cant just waltz in," Dad spoke as he looked around,
The gate started to open, "Follow the drive up, The Alpha is waiting,"
"Thank you," Dad said,
Making our way up the drive, I felt antsy or nervous; I wasnt sure which one. My wolf suddenly was alert,
A white house came into view. We saw two large men and a smaller-framed woman standing on the top steps. The woman was holding a baby in her arms, as one man had his arms around her shoulders, and the other guy, well, he just looked pissed and grumpy,
Coming to a stop, we all slide out,
Once around the car, I stood next to my father. I was waffled with the smell of citrus,
'Mate,' My wolf chirped in my head; my body stiffened as my eyes locked on the grumpy, pissed-off guy standing there. I could see his chest rising and falling rather quickly. His look of disgust kept me from taking a step toward him. He looked ready to kill as he glared at me,
Tony took a side glance. He knew me too well. He must have noticed my reaction,
"Alpha Cash," The large guy calls out as he steps forward, hand outstretched,
"Alpha Leo, Thank you for meeting with us,"
"It is no trouble. This is my Luna, Lorraine, and my Beta Kade," He gestures to the two standing next to him,
We all shake hands, but his Beta dont take my hand,
My wolf whimpered at the rejection from her mate. His eyes are hard and cold, and he never takes them off me. I can feel him burning holes in me,
"Let's go in," The Alpha says as he holds his arm out for his mate,
"Dear, do you have any bags? I can have an omega take them to your room." The Luna says to me,
"Their in the back, I can," I start to walk back to the SUV,
"I'll get them," I was cut off by my angry mate,
I froze as he walked by, his scent filling my nose and making me suck in a sharp breath,
Why was i giving a grumpy frog as my mate?
