***Kade***

"Let's run that drill again. But try and slow it down. We dont need to rush the movements."

Telling the group of teenagers, They pair up again, taking their stance, On my count,

"Kade," Leo's voice filters through my head. I need you at the pack house."

"Uh, kinda busy right now. Can it wait?"

"No, Five minutes," He cut the link; what the hell?

""Rodney, take over. im being summoned to the pack house."

"Yes, Beta Kade,"

He moved to the front,t taking my place.

"Have them run this a few more times, but then finish off with a run around the mountain ridge,"

"Yes, Beta,"

I jog off the training field up the path toward the pack house. I wonder what was so pressing that he pulled me from the training. Leo usually dont do that,

Hurrying through the door, I headed down the hall; Leo's office is on the first floor, as is mine and Lor's. Leo liked that visitors didnt have to move through the house. He always said the less they see, the less they know. I agree with him. Who would want to let them see the house? It gives them an advantage,

I noticed his door was already open. Just as I was close, I heard him call out,

"Come in, Kade shut the door,"

Stepping in, "What would you have done if it wasnt me?" I shut the door, hearing him chuckle,

"Dude, I have known you all our lives. I think I know your scent by now," A smug smirk on his face, I just roll my eyes at him,

Moving to the front of his desk.

"What was so important you pulled me from the training?"

"Always so pleasant," He grips at me before he stands up. He Comes around the desk. takes a seat in the one chair,

"Received a call from Alpha Cash Morgan,"

I rack my brain trying to remeber him, "Oh, Anit the ALpha who owns a security company, and his mate is a hybrid?"

Nodding his head, "The one and only, He asking for help,"

Squinting my eyes, "Help?"

I sit down. What would he be doing if he was a powerful alpha and his mate alone could take down a whole group of rogues? We have all heard the stories about them,

"Yeah. From what I understand. His niece is in danger and was attacked a few days ago at a bonfire. He is looking for a safe place for her to stay till they can get this handled,"

"What kinda danger?"

Something stirred in me. My wolf grumbled a bit, not liking the idea of this girl in any danger. I pushed him to the back. I dont want to deal with him right now,

"Something about another Alpha nephew is trying to lay claim on her, and she refused cause she is waiting for her mate, but this kid has not taken no for an answer, and he thinks this attack was a way to kidnap her. Lucky her cousin was there, But what im told is she can handle herself fairly well in the fighting department,"

I raised a brow, "So why send her away?"

"He couldn't give me all the details. He said he would fill everything in if we decided to take her in for a while, but he wasnt sharing too much in case he was turned down,"

Well, I had to agree with that. I wouldn't put out too much unless I knew it was a done deal.

"So you are telling me this because?"

"I have agreed to take her in. I know they are not a close pack, and if he is looking to keep her safe, then the farther away, the better,"

He had a point if you want to hide someone, you dont do it close to home. They were at least three towns away,

"How old is this girl? If that boy is trying to claim her?"

Once again, my wolf stirred,

"I think seventeen of eighteen. Old enough to find her mate,"

I didn't know what to think; normally, Leo doesn't do things like this. Sure, we help with rogues and that sort of thing, but to take in someone he dont like to do as it leaves an opening for them to use against us,

"Can I ask why you decided to help?"

"Im not sure. I know I dont normally do this, but there was something in how he spoke, and then I thought about my little one. How would I feel if I was reaching out for help in the same manner, but no one was willing to help,"

I nodded. I could understand where he was coming from. He has started to look at things differently since having his pup, Not that it's a bad thing,

"Does she have a rank? You said she was his niece?"

"She is from Beta blood. Her father is the Beta to Alpha Cash, but her mother is Alpha Cash's sister, so she also has some ALpha blood in there."

"Well, s**t, that gives her a good advantage in streghten,"

Even though her mom is mated to a Beta. Alpha blood dominates all,

"I wonder if that's why that boy is laying a claim. If he knows her history and family, maybe he's looking for power,"

"That could be, but I did tell Alpha Cash we would let her stay; He will be leaving tomorrow morning, driving her with his son and Beta. He said to give him two days to ensure no one follows them."

"His son? Why would he come along? Shouldn't he stay with the pack?"

"I asked him that as well. He said that the two of them are very close, and it is hard for them both to be apart,"

I heard my wolf growl in my head. He wasnt like hearing how another male was close to her,

Shaking my head, I blocked him,

"Im going to get her information to the school and have her father finish the paperwork when he gets here. Then we can see where she will fit in around here,"

"You want me to get a room ready for her?"

"Ah, about that." He rubbed the back of his neck. He only does this when he is nervous or hesitant about something,

"What?" I drew out, Not liking the look on his face,

"Well, seeing as she is a ranked wolf, I hoped she could stay on the Beta floor." He gave me a sheepish look,

My wolf pushed through my blocks as he pranced in my head. He liked the thought of this female staying on our floor,

I gave up on trying ot push him back. He kept fighting against me. I will say this is the most he has been active since I stopped my thoughts I was not going there,

"That's fine, I can always stay in one of the extra cottages," I grumble at him,

"Kade, really? She isn't going to bite you, and besides, you are too moody. She is a teenage girl, all bubbles and sunshine, and you're an old grump,"

I huffed, "I am not a grump,"

He laughed as he stood up, "Sure, you anit." Then he returned to his spot behind his desk.

Ignoring him, I stood up, "Is that all?"

"Yep." he chimed. I spun, heading for the door,

"Oh, and Kade, You are to be there when she arrives to greet them,"

I froze mid-step, looking over my shoulder at him. He knows I dont want to meet with anyone, let alone a female. I send him a glare,

But it does nothing to change the amused look on his face,

Looking back forward, I grab the handle, "Like hell that I will," I grumble more to myself,

"That's an order, Beta,"

Prick, I say in my head, slamming the door open and letting it bang against the wall; I heard him bust out laughing as I storm out of the room.
