Chapter 14

1056 Words

Fourteen I must have passed out. I opened my eyes when I felt something cold on my head. Owl pressed a cloth to my temple, gently wiping away all the perspiration that had collected there. He looked down at me, but it wasn’t with the cocky smile he’d given me on that first night. It wasn’t with the smirk he’d given me earlier tonight. It was the same look that Hawk had on his face when Eagle and Crow deposited Ellie back in his lap after they’d put her into a f**k-coma. There was something about that smile, this smile that pulled at my heartstrings. I tried to stop those ropes from being pulled. Owl didn’t believe in relationships and monogamy, not really. This was just temporary. But I couldn’t stop the strings of my heart from twisting into a knot. My hands were still tied to his bed.
