Georgia sat up in bed with a tired yawn. She had barely gotten any sleep last night from the way her head kept banging and her tears refused to stop.
Eva was there for her even though she momentarily fell asleep.
By the time she was up, breakfast had been prepared by her friend and she lazily climbed out of the huge bed.
She freshened up and put on a green cropped top and a deep blue jean. Her lengthy brunette hair was let loose over her shoulders and she decided on a black wedged heel to complete her look.
"Oh look at you! That is my best friend right there!" Eva praised her as she walked into the living room.
"You think I look good?" Georgia asked her friend. Her beautiful face was lightly detailed with makeup.
"Of course you do! That bastard won't even know what hit him!" Eva continued.
Georgia nodded her head and sat down for breakfast. She always trusted her friend's judgment on fashion since Eva was always beautifully dressed even without trying.
She had decided to visit Sloane that day after getting the divorce papers ready and she wanted to look her best to boost her self esteem.
After a cup of fresh apple juice and some waffles, Georgia was ready to go. She picked up her handbag and left the house.
Eva had insisted she took her car since Georgia's husband hadn't found it essential to buy a car for his own wife.
"You are too good to me." Georgia said with a smile before driving away.
Arriving at her husband's company, she confidently strutted into his office without even waiting for his secretary to inform him.
Sloane sprung to his feet on sighting her, for some reason, he felt a little nervous. He had never seen his wife so confident before, he could see it in her steps, her unwavering gaze, the swaying of her hips. She suddenly seemed more attractive.
He cleared his throat, chasing such thought out of his head. "Look who decided to show up after running away from home." He said as he crossed his arms.
She smirked then placed a brown envelope on his table without uttering a word.
"What is this?" He asked as he picked it up. Taking out its content, he let his eyes soak in the words though he couldn't believe what he was reading.
She had tendered a divorce paper which was already signed by her! To make things worse, she requested for nothing from him, not even alimony!
"A divorce paper?" His brow arched skyward.
"Tomorrow at ten, let's end this finally and part ways. No more mistakes." Her voice was stern as she spoke.
"Have you thought this through?" He questioned unbelievably.
"Trust me, three years is more than enough to think this through. See you tomorrow, oh and, a red tie would have looked better." She said, pointing at his necktie.
With that, she turned and walked away, keeping a confident posture and a grin on her face.
Sloane slammed the papers angrily against his desk. While they were still together, she was the one who always picked out his clothes and what would match them. He had found it hard to decide on a tie that morning and he hated that she had to see it.
He angrily pulled out his tie and threw it away.
Walking out of the building of Sloane's company, Georgia was all smiles. She thought she would tear up or at least be fidgeting in his presence but for some reason, she had felt overfilled with confidence.
For three years straight, she had fought for the heart of a man who never wanted to give it to her in the first place.
He had never loved her, how did she not see it? She was only there to shut the media up, she was sure. So nobody would gossip about the eldest Marlowe heir being single.
All she wanted was his heart and she deceived herself that he had chosen her out of love even though she knew that it was because his true lover, Peyton, was out of reach then.
Now that they had blackmailed her like this, the only wise thing to do was to leave and she wouldn't think twice about it.
She reached for the handle of the door of the car but her phone suddenly began to ring in her hand.
After opening the door, she sat in the driver's seat and answered the call. "Hello?"
"Can I speak with Georgia Matthews?" The person requested.
"This is she. How may I help you?"
"Mr Matthews ordered me to let you know that J international needs a head and he wants you to lead it. He is pleased with your breakup with the Marlowe's first son."
Georgia was left speechless. Her father? How did he know about her divorce when she had only tendered it a while ago?

On arriving home, she explained everything to Eva including her father's offer.
"Will you take it?" Eva asked.
"I'll talk to him later. How do you think he knew about my divorce?" A confused look played on her face as she asked.
"Apparently, someone from the court saw the famous Marlowe's wife signing divorce papers and spread the news across. News travels quickly on the Internet." Eva responded.
Suddenly, a sad look played on Georgia's face. "Did you see what all those people are saying about me? I didn't stab her for real!"
"Of course I know that. I know you! Don't read those hateful comments, the Internet is really shitty these days. We'll clear your name somehow." Eva assured with a smile.
Georgia sighed.
"Enough of this!" Eva exclaimed. "The day is still young and I can hear the club calling our names! Let's go!"
Georgia let out a soft laugh. She got on her feet and started towards the door. As she reached for the handle, she heard the doorbell ring and before she could stop herself, she had already pulled it open.
Her entire self froze at the entrance as her eyes met with a familiar set of blue ones. "Hunter?"
The handsome man's lips curved into a smile. "Hello Georgia, it's been too long."
