1067 Words
Sitting with her back straightened in her seat, Georgia took a sip from the cup of tea in her hand and nervously returned it to the table. Hunter Miller, the man she had turned down three years ago to be with her husband was sitting right in front of her. He was still looking as handsome as he was the first time they met. "How are you holding up?" He asked her. "I recently learnt about everything that's going on." "I'm okay." She responded with a smile. "But I really didn't hurt her! It was just a plan of hers to ruin me!" "I know. Which is why I did some digging to help you clear your name and I think you'll be pleased with what I have." He announced as he reached into his pocket. "Wait, you believe me?" She seemed confused. "Of course I do. I know who you are and I know you would never hurt someone no matter how much they hurt you." Georgia felt his words touch her heart. He hadn't seen her in three years yet he believed her at once. Yet her own husband whom she lived with for those three years didn't even want to hear her out. He had decided on his own. Hunter had a warm smile on his face. He took out a flash drive and handed it to her. "I was able to get my hands on the security footage of that day and I know you can clear your name with this." She accepted it with a grateful heart. "Wow! This is huge! Thank you so much." "I know you can put it to good use. It's late, I'll be on my way now. I hope we can see again." He announced as he rose to his feet. Georgia saw him out of Eva's apartment and she felt like she could finally breathe after he was gone. She couldn't help but to feel guilty about turning him down three years ago. Eva could see through her best friend and she hugged her. "I didn't know he was in town. How did he even know to find you here?" "I don't know but I'm saved now thanks to him. Can you contact any reporters? I think the whole world has to see things with their own eyes." Georgia suggested and Eva nodded her head. "I got you covered friend!" She smiled. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow." Georgia stated with a smile. Morning came and Georgia was already prepared for the D-day to begin. Dressed in a red sexy dress that hugged her curves and a black wedged heel. Standing at the entrance of the court, Sloane checked his watch repeatedly, checking the time. It was already quarter past ten and Georgia was yet to arrive. He had been there before ten with his sister, Jessica. Jessica hissed. "Where is that heartless b*tch?! How dare she keep us waiting! Who does she think she is!" He thought to himself, 'maybe she has realized that she was wrong to try to divorce me in the first place and now she regrets it. She is probably too scared to show up today unable to admit her mistake.' Before a smirk could work up on his face, an expensive looking car parked in front of the court and a handsome looking man came down from it. Without wasting any time, he went and opened the door to the passenger seat and Sloane couldn't believe it when his wife came down from it. She was more beautiful than he had ever seen. Rage filled him up as the handsome man kept close to Georgia and she smiled as he whispered something to her. "That slut!" Jessica spat out. Georgia stopped right in front Sloane. "Did you wait long? I had business to attend to. Shall we?" "How dare you keep us waiting?" Jessica angrily yelled but to her surprise, Georgia only spared her a glance. She continued towards the entrance of the court room with Hunter close to her when Sloane suddenly gripped her by the forearm. "We need to talk." He said in a commanding tone. "I don't think you have anything more to talk about." Hunter said in a firm tone as he pulled Georgia closer to himself. Sloane felt confused. Who the hell was this stranger? Georgia smiled. "It's okay, go in, I'll be a minute." She said to Hunter. After a hesitant minute, he went in. Sloane chuckled. "What is this? You're already seeing another man?" "Is that what you wanted to say to me?" She plainly asked. He released his grip from her hand and dipped them in his pocket. "Have you thought this through? You sure you won't regret leaving me?" "Tch," Georgia chortled. "I'm sure." With that being said, she left him standing and walked into the court room. Sloane still couldn't believe how confident his wife had become. Normally she would never dare to look him in the eye but now she wasn't even afraid to speak as she wished. Did she really not care about all the wealth she would be missing out on? After all, she was a poor nobody. Heaving out his thoughts along with a sigh, he walked into the court room with his sister and just like that, their marriage was over. On their way out, Georgia suddenly stopped and walked towards him. "Oh! Before I forgot, I prepared a parting gift for you, I'm pretty sure you'll love it." Sloane was confused but she left before he could ask any questions. Almost immediately she drove off with her new fling-- according to Sloane's point of view-- his phone started to ring and he took it out of his pocket. He was surprised to see that it was his father calling him. Though he was surprised, he immediately answered the phone. "Dad?" "That good for nothing back stabbing b*tch! How dare she do something so terrible?!" Lyle Marlowe yelled out. "Dad, I think the divorce was not such a bad idea--" "Not that you fool! The world has known the truth! What are we going to do?" Sloane squinted. "The truth?" Lance hurried down from the driver's seat and rushed towards Sloane. "Sir, I think you should see this." Sloane was surprised with the video Lance showed to him. He couldn't believe his own eyes. "Oh no..."
