THE NEXT DAY AT WELMA ACADEMY
Natalia's POV
I sat in the teacher's office, listening as she explained the school's background.
"This school was founded in the '80s, and since then, we've maintained an impeccable reputation. We provide our students with the highest quality education and training," she said, adjusting her glasses. "WELMA ACADEMY has held its position as the top school in the werewolf world for years. Here, all wolves are shielded, which ensures students can focus on their studies without distractions. It also prevents Alphas from overpowering Omegas."
I nodded slowly, absorbing the information. The part about shielding wolves intrigued me. So, this is how they maintain order.
"What are the conditions for the scholarship?" I asked.
"Our merit-based scholarship is awarded to academically gifted students with outstanding academic records. It is given in the form of financial aid to applicants who demonstrate academic excellence by maintaining a high GPA among their peers."
She led me to the Recognition Wall, where pictures of past and present top scholars were displayed. My eyes landed on a familiar name: Nathan Argent.
The boy from yesterday.
The one who coldly rejected that girl's confession.
The one who threw away her letter and cupcake like they meant nothing.
I stared at his picture for a moment before turning away. So he's the top student here.

LATER THAT SAME DAY
After completing the rest of my paperwork, I was given my uniform. Excitement bubbled up inside me. I rushed toward the changing room, eager to try it on.
A fresh start. A new life. Maybe even friends.
As I was changing, I heard a group of girls talking nearby. Their voices were hushed, but the giggles and whispers carried through the locker room.
"Did you hear about the new girl?" one of them asked.
My breath hitched. I was the only new student today. They were talking about me.
"Yeah, I think her name is Natalie or something. Heard her mom is a stripper and sleeps with different men every day," another girl said, snickering.
"OMG! She probably seduced Natalia's father!" The first girl burst into laughter.
"I also heard Natalia was a thief at her old school and seduced men. Like mother, like daughter, I guess."
They all laughed.
My stomach clenched.
The excitement I'd felt just moments ago vanished. I had left one nightmare, only to step into another.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I changed quickly and left the locker room without a word.

IN THE CLASSROOM
The teacher introduced me to the class.
"Everyone, we have a new student. Please introduce yourself."
I hesitated before stepping forward. "Hello, my name is Natalia Herrera."
I could feel their stares. Judging. Cold. Unwelcoming.
I was already labeled before I even spoke.
I considered saying more but changed my mind. Instead, I simply walked to the back of the classroom and took a seat by the window, staring outside.
I had hoped for a new beginning.
But it seemed like I had just walked into another hell.
