Chapter 17 Joe Cecil’s house finally came into view. Joe wanted to get Chelsie alone so that he could console her. He knew she had spent the entire hike worrying about her brother. He hadn’t wanted to tell her about the trade he had made, but when she had turned to him, there had been no way he could have lied to her. As they climbed Cecil’s stairs, the old shifter opened the door and welcomed them all inside. “What’s amiss?” he asked as they all slumped down on to the various couches and chairs in his great room. “We had an unexpected visitor at the compound.” “I see,” Cecil said, rocking back on his heels.
