Chapter 4
Chelsie
Chelsie stumbled back and grabbed her brother, shoving him behind her. She had never seen a shifter before in her life. Seeing Joe stand to his complete height took her breath away. A scream was lodged in her throat as she tried to slow her racing mind to figure out what to do next.
“Holy s**t,” her brother whispered.
Finally, Joe dropped down to all four paws. He sauntered over, his gate nonthreatening, but Chelsie’s heart was still racing. He nudged her out of the way with his giant head. She stepped to the side and tried to resist the overwhelming urge she had to run her fingers through his hair. Her nerves were dying off, and much to her surprise she realized she wasn’t afraid of Joe.
