Chapter 10

Chapter 10 "Sweetheart; your gonna have to start answering me." I pursed my lips. There was no way in hell that I was going to talk to him. I know I already said something earlier, but I got scared. And why shouldn't I be scared? I have every right in the world to be scared. But I also needed to gain some confidence. That's what I was attempting to do right now. I would stand my ground and not answer his silly, irrelevant questions. I crossed my arms tightly. We started driving about two minutes ago. We were going down a high way if i was guessing correctly. The back seat, where I was sitting at, was literally lower then the rest the rest of the car. I could hardly manage to see out of the triangle sized window above me. The floors were covered thickly in trash. Pepsi cans, mud covered newspapers, hammers, and every other odd object you can think of was there. The passenger seat and drivers seat were covered in a cow print fabric. There was no radio at all. There was just a black box in its old place. A silver keyhole was in the middle of the box. Adam rapped his fingers on the steering wheel. He acted so annoyed. Just plain out annoyed. He looked up in the rear view mirror with his sunglasses still on. He sighed heavily. I felt his menacing stare glare upon me. "Did ya hear? Maybe your deaf. SHOULD I TALK LIKE THIS?" He leaned back and shouted in my ear. I winced in pain. "No, I'm fine!" "She has spoken once again!" He said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes. "Now tell me, Crystal, why aren't you scared?" I could tell he choose his words carefully. He did not say what I should be scared "of." He may act stupid, but I believe this man is truly actually very smart. "Because." I was scared. Like I said before, I needed to try and be somewhere across from scared and confident. I knew myself it was pretty much impossible to totally eliminate my fear. I was not going to try on that part. This was great though. He only received the part of me that was sort of kind of confident. This wasn't my plan, but hey, maybe this could work. "Huh. Your just not having normal reactions to being ..." He got sidetracked. Or maybe he was once again carefully picking his words. I couldn't tell. He looked left to right, scanning the outside area of the car. I tried peeping up to get a good view of what he was seeing, but it was no use. Suddenly, Adam whipped out his phone from his jeans pocket. He speedily dialed a number, fingers somewhat shaky. "Frankie, I've got her. Yep. Great. No, no, it's too early. No, still too early! I'm not sure. You know what we'll do if..yeah. Okay,be there real soon. Bye." When he hung up the phone he smiled. Adam was not nervous with me. He was excited. Now I knew for sure he was excited. "We will lay down some ground rules when we get ..home." Adam said. I shuddered. Home? His home will never be my home. My home is on Kornale Run. My home has Leah, Trevor, and my mom and dad. Wow. What if I never get to see them again? There everything I have. Well, I have Connor too. He's a really, really, good friend. I don't know why he even started talking to me in the first place. I'm sure everyone else at my school wont miss me. They hardly realize I'm there. But I am sure that my mom has already the cops on there way for me. I can almost imagine my rescue. "What is your name anyways?" I asked. Adam clearly wasn't his name, so I should probably mentally at least call him his real name. "You can call me Master, if you like." "No, I'm good." I rolled my eyes. If he thought that was supposed to be intimidating, I'd love to see him later. "You really don't understand how this all works do you?"
