I died on the night of my 30th wedding anniversary.

Adrian Hart locked me away in the Silvermoon Pack's underground cell, claiming my scent was driving his wolf crazy. It was Lydia Reed's birthday too. He took the entire family to celebrate with her, while everyone forgot I had been burning with a fever for three days.

By midnight, the pack doctor finally unlocked the door. My hearing was already fading, and all I could make out was his voice calling my name before my phone screen suddenly lit up.

Adrian had someone deliver his final message, "Layla, in your next life, stay the hell away from me."

Chapter 1
I died on the night of my 30th wedding anniversary. Adrian Hart locked me away in the Silvermoon Pack's underground cell, claiming my scent was driving his wolf crazy. It was Lydia Reed's birthday too. He took the entire family to celebrate with her, while everyone forgot I had been burning with a fever for three days. By midnight, the pack doctor finally unlocked the door. My hearing was already fading, and all I could make out was his voice calling my name before my phone screen suddenly lit up. Adrian had someone deliver his final message. "Layla, in your next life, stay the hell away from me." I really died. When I opened my eyes again, the Silvermoon Pack's moon feast was in full swing, its music drifting beneath the crystal chandelier. I came back to 23 years old, still not married to Adrian, and I hadn't spent the next 30 years trapped in that loveless marriage. At the far end of the long table, Adrian's hand slipped, sending his wine glass crashing over. Red wine spread across the white tablecloth as he stared at me with the same ghostly pale face I remembered. I knew the truth right away. He had returned to the past too. In my previous life, this was the exact banquet where Lydia drugged Adrian's wine, hoping to force both families to approve their engagement ahead of time. I had accidentally walked into the lounge and became the woman everyone accused of trying to seduce him. To save their reputation, the elders switched the brides. I was forced to marry Adrian, while Lydia was sent to the Northlands to marry the rumored cursed Moonshadow Alpha. Three days later, Lydia died. Adrian blamed me for her death and carried that hatred for 30 years. "I'm not drinking this." He rose to his feet, his voice tight. "And Lydia is the only woman I'll marry." The entire banquet hall went quiet. Lydia immediately threw herself into his arms, tears filling her eyes. Adrian held her like a priceless treasure he had finally gotten back, then turned to my father. "I want to marry Lydia early. As for the bride the Moonshadow Alpha requires, Layla was always the replacement you brought back for Lydia." My stepmother finally relaxed. My father didn't even bother asking what I wanted. "Layla has always been obedient," he said. "She'll do what's best for the pack." In my last life, those words hurt more than anything. Being called obedient meant I was expected to sleep in the storage room, wear Lydia's hand-me-downs, accept every choice they made for me, and still be grateful that they had finally acknowledged me as their daughter. This time, I picked up the untouched glass of water in front of me and answered calmly, "Sure." Adrian froze. "Do you know who the Moonshadow Alpha is?" He stepped closer, lowering his voice. "People say he becomes a savage beast during the Blood Moon, with no control over himself. You can pretend you're fearless now, but don't come running back to me later." I looked at his face I had spent 30 years waiting for in my previous life. There was no love left, nor hatred, but weariness. "Don't worry," I said. "This time, I'll stay far away from you." Adrian's wolf crashed against my senses, trying to make me back down. I tightened my fingers around the glass and kept my head held high. Then my phone vibrated. An unknown number sent only a message. Unknown Number: If you don't want it, no one can force you to go to the Northlands. If you do, I'll go for you myself.
