Shattered dreams

*************(Alexander pov) I struggled to walk back to the pack, my legs heavy with grief. Tears streamed down my face as I screamed in anguish, my heart shattered into a million pieces. I had just lost my beloved mate, Laura, and it was all my fault. I couldn't protect her, couldn't save her from the clutches of evil. "Why, moon goddess, why?" I screamed, my voice echoing through the forest. "You're not being fair. You took away the one person I loved, the one person who made my life worth living." I stumbled back to my residence, my anger and grief boiling over. I ordered the guards to bring all the family members of the elders before me. I wanted to make them pay for their treachery, for taking away my mate. As the pack gathered and the elders' family members were brought before me, I felt a surge of anger and hatred. I wanted to kill them all, to make them suffer for their evil deeds. But as I looked into their faces, I saw something that gave me pause. I saw fear, and innocence I realized that they were not all guilty, that some of them were innocent bystanders caught up in the elders' web of deceit. I felt a pang of pity for them, and my anger began to dissipate. With a heavy heart, I made the decision to banish them from the pack. I couldn't bring myself to kill them, but I couldn't let them stay either. They had to pay for their family members' treachery, even if it was just by being forced to leave the only home they had ever known. As I watched them leave, I felt a sense of sadness and loss. It had been one week since Laura died, and my life had never been the same again. I was a shell of my former self, a hollow vessel filled with grief and anger. My guards approached me, concern etched on their faces. "Alpha, why are you leaving us?" they asked, their voices filled with sorrow. I looked at them, my eyes filled with tears. "My mate is no longer here," I said, my voice cracking with emotion. "My life is not complete without her. I need to go and start a new life, one where I can try to find some semblance of peace and happiness." I packed my bags and left the pack, leaving behind the only home I had ever known. I traveled to distant lands, seeking solace and comfort in the unknown. But no matter where I went, I couldn't shake off the feeling of emptiness and loss. Laura's memory haunted me, her smile and laughter echoing in my mind. I felt like a part of me had been ripped away, leaving a gaping hole that could never be filled. As I wandered through the wilderness, I stumbled upon a small village. The villagers were kind and welcoming, and they took me in as one of their own. I stayed with them for a while, learning their ways and customs. But even as I found some measure of peace and comfort among the villagers, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I didn't belong. I was a werewolf, a creature of the night, and I couldn't stay in one place for too long. I left the village and continued my journey, seeking a place where I could truly call home. But as I traveled, I realized that home was not a place, but a person. And that person was Laura, my beloved mate who had been taken away from me. I wept and wailed, my heart heavy with grief. I felt like I was losing my mind, like I was being consumed by my own sorrow. But even as I felt like I was drowning in my own tears, I knew that I had to keep moving forward. I had to find a way to honor Laura's memory, to keep her spirit alive. And so, I continued my journey, seeking a way to make her proud, to make her soul smile. As I walked, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape. I felt a sense of peace wash over me, a sense of calm that I hadn't felt in weeks. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath, and let the tranquility of the moment wash over me. I opened my eyes, feeling a sense of loss, a sense of longing. I knew that Laura was gone, that she had been taken from me far too soon. But I also knew that I had to keep moving forward, that I had to find a way to honor her memory, to keep her spirit alive. I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my grief settle upon me. But I knew that I couldn't give up, that I had to keep fighting, no matter what. For Laura, for our love, and for the future that we had planned to build together. As I walked on, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting the world in a warm, golden light. I felt a sense of peace settle over me, a sense of calm that I hadn't felt in weeks. And I knew that I would be okay, that I would find a way to heal, to move on, and to find happiness again. The journey ahead would be fraught with danger, with challenges that would test my strength, my courage, and my heart. But I was ready, for I knew that I had to keep moving forward, no matter what. For Laura, for our love, and for the future that we had planned to build together I had to be happy to make her soul rest. Meanwhile, in a realm beyond the mortal world, Laura's soul was in a light place, shining like a beacon in the heavens. She looked around, confused, and saw a beautiful woman approaching her. The woman was like a goddess, with long, flowing hair and piercing green eyes. Laura bowed her head to the woman, addressing her as the Moon Goddess. The Moon Goddess smiled, her eyes shining with compassion. "Laura, your soul was taken from you unjustly," the Moon Goddess said, her voice like music. "You were killed because of your white wolf power, but that power was not evil. It was meant to save the pack, to protect them from harm." Laura's soul felt a surge of emotion, a mix of sadness and anger. She had been killed by those she trusted, by those who were supposed to protect her. The Moon Goddess held out a flower, its petals shimmering with a soft, ethereal light. "I will give you a second chance, Laura," she said. "I will reincarnate your soul, give you a new body and a new life. But remember, your white wolf power is a gift, a powerful tool that can be used for good or evil. Use it wisely, Laura." Laura's soul felt a sense of wonder, a sense of awe. She reached out and took the flower, feeling its power coursing through her. And then, her soul disa ppeared, lost in the light of the Moon Goddess's realm.
