THE ALPHA'S DESTINY
📖 CHAPTER 1
The moon was shining brightly in the dark sky, illuminating the vast forest. I walked carefully through the trees, holding my basket full of herbs. Living in the outskirts of the kingdom was peaceful, but it was also dangerous. Everyone knew that this land belonged to the Supernatural Beings—the Werewolves, Vampires, and Witches.
"Just a little more... I need to find the healing leaves for Mother," I whispered to myself, trying to stay calm.
Suddenly, the air changed. The wind became colder and a strong, intimidating aura filled the place. The birds stopped chirping and even the leaves stopped moving. It was deadly silent.
I froze. My heart started pounding fast against my chest. I could feel it... someone was watching me. Someone very powerful.
Slowly, I turned around and saw him.
Standing under the big oak tree was a man. He was tall, muscular, and wore black royal armor that made him look like a god of war. His hair was dark and messy, and his eyes... his eyes were glowing bright gold. They were sharp, fierce, and full of authority.
He was the most handsome man I had ever seen, but he also looked terrifying.
"What is a little omega doing in my territory?" his voice was deep and cold, echoing like thunder in the quiet forest.
I trembled in fear and immediately bowed down. "I... I'm sorry, Your Highness! I didn't know this was your land! Please forgive me!" I stuttered, afraid that he would kill me with just one snap of his finger.
He walked closer... step by step. His presence was so overwhelming that I could barely breathe. When he stopped right in front of me, he lowered his head and sniffed the air.
His eyes widened in shock and his expression changed completely.
"Scent..." he muttered, his voice becoming hoarse. "You... you are mine."
"What... what do you mean?" I stuttered, my voice shaking. I couldn't understand what was happening. Why did his eyes suddenly change from being angry to something so intense and possessive?
He didn't answer me. Instead, he reached out and grabbed my wrist gently, but his grip was firm enough that I couldn't escape. His touch sent electric sparks all over my body, making my heart race even faster.
"My wolf... has been waiting for you," he said softly, his golden eyes staring deeply into mine. "You are my Mate. The Moon Goddess has chosen you for me."
"M-Mate?" I repeated, my eyes widening in shock.
It was impossible. I was just a simple, ordinary omega. And he... he was Lance, the Alpha King! The most powerful being in the entire realm. There was no way someone like him would be destined for someone like me.
"Impossible..." I whispered, pulling my hand back slightly. "I am nobody. You are the King. We can't be..."
He frowned, and suddenly, his aura became stronger, making me feel small and weak. "Do not say that. You are mine, Elana. And I do not share what belongs to me."
I was stunned. How did he know my name?
As if reading my mind, he spoke again. "I know everything about you. I have been watching you."
Before I could say anything else, a loud howl echoed from a distance. The Alpha King looked towards the direction of the sound, his expression turning serious and cold again.
"My warriors are calling me," he said, then looked back at me. "You must go home now. But remember this... starting today, you are under my protection. No one can hurt you."
He took a step back, and in just a blink of an eye, his figure disappeared into the darkness of the forest, leaving me alone and confused.
I stood there frozen, touching my chest where my heart was beating wildly. What just happened? Did I just meet my Mate? And he is the most feared Alpha King?
I quickly picked up my basket and ran as fast as I could back home. My mind was full of questions. But deep inside my heart, I knew... my life would never be the same again.
When I finally reached our small wooden house, I immediately opened the door and slammed it shut behind me. I leaned against it, trying to catch my breath.
"Elana? Is that you?" a soft voice called out from the corner.
I looked up and saw my mother sitting by the fireplace. She looked weak and pale, but she still managed to give me a warm smile.
"Yes, Mother. I'm home," I answered, trying to sound normal and hiding my shaking hands.
I walked towards her and placed the basket on the table. "I found the herbs you needed. I will cook them right away so you can drink the medicine."
My mother held my hand and looked at me closely. She frowned slightly. "Child... why are you shaking? And why does your scent smell like... danger?"
I froze. Oh no! I forgot that werewolves had a strong sense of smell. The scent of the Alpha King was probably still all over me!
"I... I just met some wild animals in the forest, Mother. That's all," I lied, looking away. I couldn't tell her the truth. She would surely panic.
My mother didn't look convinced, but she just sighed and patted my hand. "Be careful next time, Elana. The forest is not safe, especially for us. We are just weak Omegas. We have to stay low and avoid trouble."
I nodded and started preparing the herbs. But deep inside, I knew... trouble had already found me.
That night, I couldn't sleep. I kept tossing and turning on my bed. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw his face. His cold expression, his deep voice, and the way he said 'You are mine'.
It felt like a dream, but it was so real.
Suddenly, I felt a strange warmth spreading in my chest. It was a weird feeling, like a bond connecting me to somewhere far away. I could feel his presence... even though he was not here. I could feel that he was powerful, angry, but also... lonely.
"Who are you really?" I whispered to the darkness.
The next morning, the sun was shining brightly. I woke up with heavy eyes. I decided to go to the village market to sell some of our handmade crafts. I needed money to buy more medicine for Mother.
As I was walking through the busy streets, everyone was talking about one thing.
"Did you hear? The Alpha King is visiting the lower lands today!"
"Really? I heard he is very cruel! He killed hundreds of enemies with his own hands!"
"Don't look at him directly! Just bow your head or you might die!"
My heart stopped. He was here? In the village?
Suddenly, the ground shook. The sound of heavy footsteps and galloping horses filled the air. The people around me immediately knelt down and bowed their heads in fear.
I looked up and saw them. A group of powerful warriors in armor were marching. And in the middle, riding on a huge black horse, was him.
He looked even more majestic and terrifying under the sunlight. His eyes were scanning the crowd coldly, until suddenly... they locked directly into mine.
His eyes widened slightly. And for a moment, the cold expression on his face softened. He stopped his horse right in front of where I was standing.
The whole village went silent. Everyone was holding their breath, afraid of what would happen next.
He looked down at me, his voice loud and clear for everyone to hear.
"You..."
