The Real Vordelia

1091 Words
"where have you been?" vyrion looked for vordelia around the castle with vega, but couldn't find him. this was the first time that vordelia had gone without him knowing, normally she always told him even if it was only in the garden. 'does he suspect me?' last night vyrion had sprinkled sleeping potion so that he could freely leave the castle, even when the morning came vordelia did not show any suspicion at all, still cheerful as usual. making vordelia suspicious was something she had to avoid. what's more, during this week their relationship was still at rock bottom. vyrion still refuses to make physical contact other than hugging each other, every time vordelia initiates a sweet moment, he always fails to return it because there is always a side to him that is not like the woman he has loved so far. side that made him start to doubt whether vordelia was real. since then, vyrion is more interested in trying to trigger the other side than making their relationship normal as it used to be. her every gesture, the way she talk, her bad habit, even her power. there are always weak points even though vordelia acts the same as the vordelia that vyrion knows so far. same, but bits different. due to vyrion's obsession, vega criticizes him for being too paranoid because he believes there is nothing wrong with vordelia, even the energy that vordelia emits remains the same. vyrion is stumped by vega's well-founded criticism. maybe because before he believed corale was vordelia, his heart secretly longed for corale's presence, his mindset is still thinking there. however... hearing corale's inner voice last night after a long time reinforced vyrion's suspicions again. he thought that once the vordelia left corale's heart, there would be no more sound, but it wasn't. vyrion who really misses corale immediately spreads sleeping potions throughout the vordelia room. "i'm just shopping for a while," vordelia said holding up the white plastic in her right hand, "i want to try the food here." oh... right. vordelia has always had a great curiosity, wanting to try new things, including small things like food. "did you buy tea, vordelia?" vega asked, "out of stock here." "sure~" vordelia took out a box of chamomile tea, "you're like aeon, vega." "living here for over a hundred years changed my view," vega said cheerfully accepting the box, "you want it?" "sure~" vega turn around to look at vyrion, "you too, lord vyrion?" "no," vyrion responded quickly. talking about tea made him remember the tea he tasted this morning, he really hoped his suspicions were correct, that way he could minimize anyone who had intended to hurt corale since the beginning. the incident that previously happened he was sure was not a mere coincidence, after corale moved into his father's house, the mysterious attack ended. "i'm sure you need some tea, you look uninspired vyrion," vordelia said softly. vyrion ignored that "i'm going to the library." "can i come too?" vordelia asked. vyrion shook his head. he wanted to be alone, and he wanted to go see corale to find out the results of the tea content. unfortunately, vordelia still followed him to the library which was at the back of the castle. vyrion was not bothered, at first thought that vordelia wanted to go to the flower garden which happened to be behind too to drink tea there, but when she went inside and felt she was still behind her she stopped walking to turn to face her "what am i doing?" told me about wanting to be alone?" she reminds him in the sweetest tone possible. "i just want to be with you," vordelia confessed shyly, "is that wrong?" vyrion taken step back. nothing wrong really, but... "just ... leave me alone," vyrion said, and averted his face when vordelia's expression since took on a look of disappointment. even though he suspected that she was not the real vordelia, her face was still the same as the woman he loved. a look other than happiness he always tried to avoid appearing on vordelia's face all this time. "and let you meet corale again in secret?" what? he knows? "i know you secretly left last night," vordelia continued, her voice is shaking due to thinking vyrion met another woman without her knowing, "you think i don't know what scent i smell after waking up?" vyrion let out a small sigh. so that's where vordelia suspects him. he noticed the scent of the sleeping potion that he sprinkled like he did to the people in fleaur castle so that no one would disturb him as long as he transferred his energy to the unconscious vordelia after calming the war. 'i guess using the scent of the perfume she uses to avoid getting caught is still useless.' wait. scent... vyrion noticed an oddity. no. the scent of the sleeping potion that vyrion used for vordelia and the people in fleaur castle was different! he uses the flowers that grow in heavens while for vordelia uses the flowers that grow in the castle flower garden because he can't go to heavens, and vega can't help him because it's night. vordelia couldn't possibly know that the scent in her bedroom was the scent of a sleeping potion! 'you think you slick using my precious memories to trick me?' everyone probably thought she was the real vordelia, everyone wasn't on her side when she suspected, fooled by her impeccable acting—almost perfect, even corale where her heart was hurt by it. now with solid evidence like this... vyrion was overcome with anger now, his eyes could now see vordelia's face, he was disgusted to see tears running down his cheeks. crocodile tears. "you can't lie to me, vyrion," vordelia said taking a step forward to hug him weakly, crying in her chest, "why? do i not mean anymore in your eyes? our love is just end here?" vyrion gritted his teeth. now his vision is clear, she always uses guilt trip too so that she can continue to make her heart shaky which she succeeds because she only realized it now. "antaresia will be disappointed with you. us—" no. don't be passionate. another thing that vyrion hates is when someone brings the name antaresia into an argument, moreover this woman speaks as if she knows the nature of his precious daughter. with anger, he grabbed vordelia's shoulder, pushing her away, "stop with this nonsense and show me who you really are!"
