Suspicious

I didn't know the right direction. My shaking legs still ran without a goal. Everything was covered in dark flame, even water under the Fleaur Kingdom. I almost give up because every corner is covered with Kishfire people. They in alert, their heads moved left and right paying attention to the situation, on something moving, possibly an enemy. Then I remembered the secret place in the Fleaur Kingdom, which is just pure Fleaur blood like I know about this. Father maybe says this to Elliot, but it's possible he didn't know the location, besides he was busy fighting with General Edric. General Edric ... My heart starts to ache again. I have to bite my tongue to keep my focus, not continued falling into deep sadness again. I will not make everyone's sacrifice become dust! I ran to the library room, I have to use my forbidden magic to hold back enemies who were in my way, this drained my body. I collapsed on the floor several times because of my lack of training. But, I finally manage to get into the library room. My legs are so weak I have to use sword enemies to keep moving forward. On the second floor. There's a secret door that only pure Fleaur blood can open it. I took one book, and the bookshelf start moving slowly, showing just two brown handles without a door. This is it. Secret door. I put my hands on the wall, and at first, nothing happens, I start to doubt I can open it since I'm not fully awakening my forbidden power. My mother is the one who open it when I'm still little. Then finally, sudden light forced me to shut my eyes tightly. My hope rises again. I slowly open my eyes. This sacred place is still the same as the last time I came here. The waterfall. Green grass that follows the flow of a small river. And the sacred, Lifa tree. I'm slightly embarrassed because my body is covered in bruised, blood, and dust. But I managed to move my legs to the Lifa tree. My mother says this sacred place is the link between us and God. I didn't believe it until now. But ... I raised my head, to see the starry night sky. See my mistake. Can't accept my dark past. My sins. Can't protect everyone. And my weakness which leads doom to the Fleaur Kingdom. "If it's true. God is watching over us," I whispered, clapping my hand tightly with eyes shut, and start praying, "I'm Vordelia, a human who is full of sins. Make the last wish. Please give me second chance ... I will do anything ..." I prayed with all my heart. Then slowly lowered my hand. It's useless. Maybe this is my fate. "Wishing on a star?" A strange deep voice fills my ears suddenly. I raised my head again. And ... I see him, bathed in light, smiling down at me like something looked so normal despite he's floating in the air. "I ..." I couldn't speak, couldn't believe my prayers reach him. A God ... or a Demon? "Yes?" He calmly says, waiting for me to say something. "You ... hear my choice?" "Loud and clear," He says still with his beautiful ruby eyes focused on me. "Can you grant it?" I hesitantly ask, not so sure about all this. "Depends," His voice sound playful despite his calm expression. Depends? "Like sold my soul?" I carefully ask, remembering Elliot, "body? Time?" Ia continued still not sure, remember another myth I read before. "Hm ..." He muttered, his eyes becoming intense looking at me—like analyzing every inch of my body if I was worthy to him. I looked away shyly. This is not time to think silly. "Please. Will you grant my wish?" I ask. There's no response. I guess I sound so desperate? He must be thinking I'm a lowly human, who didn't show some manners. But what should I do? The Fleaur Kingdom is in a dangerous situation. "I will rewrite your fate," He finally says, which makes me let out a long sigh of relief, "your soul will be mine then." My soul? So he ... Demon? Since he bathed in light, dressed in all white with a pattern of gold, I think he was a God. However, he's actually a nightmare? I guess I see wrong, but I don't care, "Yes. I'm okay with that." He's smiling slightly wider like performing a smirk before he flies far away to the top Lifa tree. What he's doing? Before I can process what happened. Everything is covered in light in instant, even the starry night sky too slowly, but surely becomes a cloudy day, showing how stronger his power is. I can't watch anymore longer, and slowly closed my eyes. Praying this is not a dream. *** "... Princess Vordelia?" Who? "Princess ... Vordelia ...? Who is it? I can't see anything except dark. I'm already dead? So I met that handsome Demon just my illusion? "Princess Vordelia ...!" That voice ... "Mhm ..." I slowly my heavy eyes, looking for who calls me softly. My sight is still blurry, but I see something white ...? I blink several times to focus ... "Princess Vordelia? Glad you awake." "General Eddric!" I cried in shock seeing his face all over me. I see my surroundings, and never in my life have I been so relief sees my backyard didn't cover in black flame. Just a normal backyard I see every day. But, more importantly ... Without permission, I hugged General Edric so tightly, "I'm glad ..." I whispered, starting to sob uncontrollably again, can see him still breathing and healthy, not covered in blood is so a miracle to me, "Really glad ..." "Huh?" He definitely confused about my blabbing, but still hugged me back as kind he is. His warmth pulls me so strong this is not some heavenly dream, "Oh my goodness, what did I do wrong this time? You crying!"
