I briefly peeked into the classroom where Marvin was teaching. I saw him writing on the blackboard. Somehow, that helped ease my feelings. The non-stop throbbing and stabbing in my head disappeared.
"What are you doing?" Tagi asks.
"Nothing," I told her.
"Just one more class until you meet him."
I said this, but this time Tagi was already walking and had left me.
"Hey, wait.." I called her.
"Which room are we in?"
She said as I followed her steps.
"The next one.." as I'd said, the bell rang, and we went into the room of our first class. Then I hear two guys in the back talking about us.
"Did you see those two chicks that just entered the classroom? They are so hot." One says.
"Yeah, the two ladies from Surigao? One of them is Abby Jezz; she's in my history class. The other one is probably her best friend maybe? This is my first time to see her. She's someone I would love to get together with. I might just ask her out." another one says.
"I think Abby Jezz is dating one of the twins. They are always around with Abby Jezz" a third one says.
"Yeah, you might be right. I don't want to mess with them." The first one who spoke replied.
"Did you hear it?" I asked Tagi
"Yeah, clear as crystal," she replied.
Well, maybe Joel and Jade are helping more than I give them credit for. I will let them slide with the gorgeous comment. The first class seemed to be going normally. Both of our classmates and the teacher acknowledged Tagi as a new transferee in the class.
"I will keep my eye on them. That's one benefit of super hearing. Then I will show you my special abilities, once we have available time." I said. Our walks didn't take long. And we finally arrive at our second subject, which is English. I saw the twin brothers, sitting inside. I try not to stare at Marvin so obviously.
"Thank you for watching over my set. This is Tagi, my best friend." I said, and then the two replied with some excitement.
"Oh hi, I'm Joel." Joel says in a soft voice.
"Hi, I'm Jade. The most trustworthy guy in the class", Jade says, trying to impress Tagi.
"Jade and Joel are twin brothers. Don't worry; you can trust them. They are family friends." I said.
"May I call Miss Albaya, right? Can you please tell us something about yourself?"
Marvin says this in front of the class. When he knew that Tagi was ready, he found out. So Tagi stands up from her set and says:
"Hello, I am Thiana Ace Albaya. 17 years old. You can call me "Tagi" for short. I transferred here from Surigao along with my best friend Abby Jezz. That's all. Thank you"
I felt how shy and nervous Tagi was.
"She is so cool." I heard a voices from one of my classmate. I looked at her, and we both smiled at each other. I had the same feeling when I first met her at our grade school.
Class goes smoothly. I'm always at my best when Marvin starts the lessons. One girl made some rude, jealous remarks about me. I'm pretty sure Tagi heard it too. I decided to let it go and not draw attention to it. The hour passes so quickly, and she is walking out of the room. She turned around and gave me one last look.
"Never mind her," I told myself. Then I gave my beautiful glance to my boyfriend instead.
At the same time, we had lunch. I am right next to me, while Marvin sits on my left. We had a short chat before the twins arrived. The twins lock the door, as Marvin had told them to.
"Dad wants to see your wolf." I suddenly said,
"Really, you told him everything?" Marvin asks, surprised.
"Yeah, we talked last night. He understands, even though he may not be that happy about it. He said he wants to talk to you privately," I said.
"That's great! I'm happy to talk to him. I'm relieved you told him already. I was really worried about his reaction." He replied.
"Sorry, I didn't tell you this morning. All I could think about was you." I said this as my cheeks turned pink.
Tagi tells us some stories about her childhood. I love hearing everything about her. She also told us about her difficulties since we left Surigao. Who knows how hard it would have been for her without me?
"I've been thinking of it since you told me this morning. About the distance if she had been in your life the whole time?" Marvin said this and sighed.
"Maybe this was a blessing in disguise. She is still seventeen, the same as me. One more torturous month until she changes into her wolf." I said.
"Is this true, Tagi?" How are you feeling now? Joel asks.
"I'm good. Everything is normal for me since I'm with her. It's embarrassing to admit, but that's the truth. I need to keep a little distance from her", Tagi says.
"We need to start physical training," Jade said.
"Guys, may I ask for your help with my training with Jezz and Tagi next week?" Marvin asks while we are eating.
"Yeah, that would be cool. We could teach her some self-defense too." Joel suggests.
"So, for this training, what should we prepare for?" I asked. Is it really being jealous? I ask myself because, since they met Tagi, the twins have always looked at her from the beginning when I was new here.
"Well, we need to make sure your body is strong. We will do some basic stuff like strength training, running, and boxing. We can also do a little cycling and hiking if you like." Marvin tells us:
"That sounds good. I enjoy being active. I used to be on the track team. And I did some gymnastics for a few years." Tagi tells us:
"Good; you will do just fine, I'm sure."
Marvin reassures her. The rest of the day is slow until creative writing. Tagi sits in the chair next to me. During class, we had a little brainstorming session. Marvin and I take turns coming up with prompts for the students. They have to immediately tell us the first paragraph of a story based on that prompt. Once we go around the entire class, the students can try to stump us with prompts of their own. It can be anything. So, it's pretty fun. That was my idea. I love it. The class is enjoying it. Marvin is a great partner. At the end of the day, I came back to the classroom, while Tagi stayed outside and talked to her mom on the phone. I helped Marvin pack away some papers he needed to take home to grade. Then we headed out.
Marvin and I walked in front with the twins and Tagi. In order to diminish any rumors that could start if students see us together. I hate that I can't stand next to my soulmate with his arms raised proudly. But I will be patient and wait.
"Who want some ice cream?" Jade asked when he saw a truck that was selling an ice cream in front of the school.
"I like sweet and cold," Tagi replied immediately as she was excited to eat the ice cream.
"Why not, let's hang out then first before leaving."
