KNOWING THE "ALPHA" AND MY WOLF

We bid goodbye, and sadly, I leave the one place I wish I could stay forever. I know what's coming. The discomfort and headache. But we all agreed that Marvin would pick me up in the morning. Mom will be calling the school to tell them that Marvin is a long-time family friend and that my parents want him to drive me and watch over me while I'm at school.

That should dispel at least some of the rumors if people see us together. I guess Mom is an expert at this. I still need to hear that story. Wow, I have basically already agreed to marry a man I met three weeks ago. It's so strange, but it feels right and makes me happier than anything I have ever experienced.

When Mom and I got home, we found Dad on the couch, napping with a book on his chest. I love this man who raised me like I was his own flesh and blood. I don't know what I would have done without him. I hope he can accept these insane things we are going to tell him.

But first, I must tell Mom about the werewolf thing. I hope she takes it well. But considering everything else she knows; this won't be the craziest.

"Dad, I love you." I kissed him on the forehead. I've just missed him for an hour since we left him home.

Mom brought the pizza, and placed it in front of us, then we ate it and talked about something.

While Dad enjoys watching his favorite action movie in the living room. Mom and I go up to my room to talk privately.

"Mom, what I have to tell you is going to sound farfetched and unbelievable. But I need you to believe me. I saw it myself, with my own eyes."

I warned her before I began.

"I believe in you sweet heart. I know that none of this is normal." she replied.

"Okay, thank you. You know about soulmates and understand what that means. They are special people with extraordinary abilities. And I am one of them because I am the daughter of Robert. He was going to tell you about their people the day he was killed."

"I understand," she says.

"The thing he never got to tell you is that Robert and his people are not just normal people, they are werewolves." I told her. She is holding my hand. Then she looked away from me for a moment.

"I remember some strange things I didn’t understand back then. When your father and I were dating, I often had headaches. Whenever that happened, I would walk into the forest. One time, I saw a large, beautiful brown wolf. I wasn’t afraid. He came close, and I touched him. He sat beside me, and I started to feel better. The same tingling ran up my arm, the same feeling I had when I held Robert’s hand. I lay down on the forest floor and fell asleep. When I woke up, the wolf was still there, curled up next to me. I knew it wasn’t normal, but it felt right.. it felt better.. It happened several more times. Whenever I felt sick, I went into the forest to find my wolf"

"It was definitely my father." Marvin transformed for me this morning. It was amazing. I will be able to change in my wolf too." I told her.

"Really? When?!" She asks with fear. I can sense her trembling body also.

"When I turn eighteen. They are going to help me. I will need some physical training to prepare my body. But it will be fine. I can do this, I know I can."

"I believe you sweetie. You have always been special. You are my only hope for better things. You can do anything" Mom says.

"It also seems that Marvin is the Alpha of the community. He's the leader." I told her.

"Well, that comes as no surprise. He's a good choice for the position. He's smart and kind. I'm sure he's a great leader. I remember they used to call Marvin's dad that. I always assumed it was a nickname. I didn't realize it was a title." She adds.

"And I assume that means you will have some sort of position one day as the Alpha's wife? they call it Luna of the pack?" Mom asked.

"Yes, they call her Luna. Jolina has the position right now. I will take over one day. She will teach me what to do." I said

"Ahh yeah, you will be a wonderful Luna. You are a lot like Jolina. So, caring about others and being smart. It's no wonder you are Alpha Marvin's mate. It was meant to be." Mom said as she puts her hand on my cheek. She had tears in her eyes.

"Mom, are you okay? What's wrong?"

"Nothing sweetie. I just see so much of your father in you. I denied it for years. But now I can admit it. You look so much like him. And you are a strong young woman. I'm so proud of you." she said.

"Thank you, that means so much to me. I am going to do my best for our kind. I hope I don't disappoint them." I sighed

"You won't. I'm sure of it" she gave me a hug. "Now we have to tell Dad that you will be dating your teacher. Any ideas on how we should do that?"

"Don't ask me, you're the one who did this before, remember?" I said jokingly.

"You're kidding me.. Your grandparents would have killed Robert. That's why I never told them about our relationship." She laughs lightly.

"You didn't even tell them when you came home pregnant?" I asked her while she looked at me in the eye.

"Nope. I told them I had met a guy at school who died in an accident. That was it. I never spoke about it again." She confesses.

"Okay, we will just have to hope that Dad is more understanding than Grandpa would have been." I suggest.

"He is, I'm sure of it. He has proved to be a kind and understanding man over the years. He never even made me tell him about your father"

"Alright, let's do this." I pull her up by the hand, and we go downstairs to freak out my poor dad.

I have never met a man as kind, even-tempered, and reasonable as my dad. Even though there is no blood relation between us, in my heart, he is still my father, who truly accepted and loved me unconditionally.

"So, are you guys taking this seriously?" Dad asks.

But even he had a little problem with our story. He was still worried. He asked so many questions that we really didn't have them answered. He asked so many questions that we really didn't have the answers. And yet, he understands and accepts it.

"I will be dating my teacher Marvin. He is a nice guy, and you can trust him. Sorry, Dad, I know I'm too young for a relationship, but I'll try to talk to Marvin. I won't allow my future to be ruined for the sake of what we have. I love you both, and I don't want to break your trust in me." I explained.

I immediately took the lead on what he might think about the two of us. Because I want to reassure him every time I'm with Marvin.

The sadness was obvious on my parents' faces. If only I could change what was destined for me, I would. I just don't want to see them hurt. For one day, I am leaving home and going to live with the Wolf's family. He may not be happy about it, but he did eventually give me his blessing. And that means so much to me.

Mom and I explained the need to be close to one another. I know Dad wants the best for me and doesn't want me to suffer. So, he agreed to spend more time with Alpha Marvin. But I don't think he will be letting me move in for now. Mom and I are both relieved that he is so understanding.

"Hey, how are you there?" Tagi says, when we get a video call in my room before I'm going to sleep.

"Well, definitely, I'm good! But emotionally, I'm not so sure." I say. Then she laughed at me.

"Okay then, tell your parents I miss them too. I hope you can take a vacation back here in Surigao." She said, and drank her milk in a glass.

"Hey Jezz, how are you? Can you ask your mom why you are getting fat?" Auntie Linda says it's my best friend's mother. She inserted herself into our video calls. I laugh at her because those words are not so serious. She just likes to tease me and now after saying she smiled at me.

"Okay, Auntie, I will send your kisses and hugs to her." I said it with a smile too.

After the long talks, we cut our video calls. Then I sent a text message to Alpha Marvin. "Dad wanted to speak to you privately. He also wants to see the whole wolf thing with his own eyes. Mom wants to see it too. So, Mom will talk to Jolina about the setup, and the three of us will go over there."

He confirmed. "Okay"
