Scarlett Estate, inner regions_ _ _
Williams’ residence_ _ _
Two figures stood on a fighting stage as they faced each other. Adrian stared at his opponent, Arthur in the eyes as he listened to the judge presiding over the spar who happened to be at the Sixth Sky of Element Gathering realm. The referee was a member of the older generation and he kept a straight face as he announced the order of the spars and its rules.
“As per the rules, no inflicting of serious injuries, no malicious attempt to cripple your opponent and no use of weapons, understood?” The referee spoke as he looked at the two youths before him. Though he was the referee of the match he didn’t dare to be heavy-handed on the two before him as their status in the house wasn’t what he can contain with.
“Yes.” The duo responded.
“Begin!!” The referee spoke once more.
“I have long heard of the Scarlett genius who broke through the Seventh rank at the age of twelve, I hope he lives up to the news.” Arthur’s disdainful and arrogant voice rang out on stage as he looked at Adrian who was not far from him. Unlike his brother Terry, Arthur was straight forward and expressed his dislike towards those he didn’t approve of.
Back at the spectating stand which looked like an open and spacious hall located at one end of the arena, sat the others as the looked on stage. Unlike the normal spectators stand which was a single seat, this stand was specifically for important and highly regarded spectators of any match, usually the Elders, Vice-elders or any other important figure.
“Elder brother Stains who do you think will win?” Terry once again turned to Stains in question.
“One is at the Peak of the Seventh rank while the other just broke through, and both have abilities to challenge people higher than themselves in rank, so their battle power cannot be measured by what meets the eye.” Stains responded calmly with a smile on his face. Without picking sides, he already gave his answer which was: “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” His last statement was made for the trio (Sophia, Terry and the distant Arthur) which was in form of an advice and a warning.
“Oh!” Terry couldn’t really understand the statement, so he chose to shut up and observe, maybe he will discover which book was the real deal. Sophia furrowed her brows slightly but remained silent.
Back on stage, the two people had already made their moves as they clashed with each other.
“Boom!!”
Fists clashed with fists as the two people fought without anyone giving in.
Ten moves later, the duo were still in a stalemate.
Twenty moves later_ _ _
“Boom!!”
The duo separated from each other. Arthur stared at Adrian with a bit of anger in his eyes. He couldn’t believe that he couldn’t take down this so-called genius after a long time. From the clash he knew that he could only defeat this guy with his bloodline power.
“You seem to indeed have some capabilities to be able to fight me for so long, but it all ends here.” Arthur spoke in an arrogant tone as he crossed his two hands over his chest with a slightly closed eyes.
“Open!!” Arthur roared as bright red veins spread across his arms, instantly increasing his strength explosively.
“Bloodline Power.” Adrian muttered as he looked at the currently transformed Arthur, although he was the young lord of the Scarlett house, he didn’t understand why he couldn’t use this bloodline power. Arthur’s bloodline is just at the first stage of its opening.
The opening of the Scarlett bloodline was split into Six stages. At the first stage, the person had red lines on his arms and there is a twenty percent increase in strength. At the second stage, the red lines spread to the legs increasing the battle power of the wielder to thirty-five percent. The third stage, the read lines appear on the chest and the battle power is increased by forty-five percent. At the fourth stage, the red lines accumulate at the forehead and the battle power is increased by sixty percent. At the fifth stage the red lines spread to the back and exudes a bright glow when opened, the strength is increased by eighty percent. In the history of the entire house only the ancestor of the house ever reached that stage.
As for the sixth stage in which only a bright gleam of light passes through the eyes and there is a terrifying hundred and ten percent increase in strength, it was just a legend and not believed to be possible or even exist as its concept was just terrifying and frightening. Just think of exerting a strength of two hundred and ten percent at that stage, that was unheard of anywhere.
The majority of the members of the house only reach the second stage, few make it to the third, A genius may make it to the fourth level, but that was the limit.
“Ah! Little Adi forced that stinky guy to activate his bloodline power.” Tina commented from the stand as he looked at Arthur in his new self. But her comment made Terry’s expression to change to an ugly one, ‘ why was she calling Arthur stinky?’
“In that state, Arthur’s battle power should be at the eight rank and coupled with his abilities his present strength could not be measured by common sense.” Mark made a comment.
“It is indeed true, if he doesn’t activate his own bloodline power, he will fail.” Terry spoke in a slightly angry tone as a result of Tina’s earlier comment.
Hearing Terry, Stains sighed inwardly. ‘Only if he had one.’
“Fall!!” Arthur roared as he pounced towards Adrian with full might, he was determined to send him down since the fool didn’t want to open his bloodline, but unknown to him, Adrian had none or he had but_ _ _
Seeing the slightly red figure closing in, Adrian gathered all his strength and used a unique movement step.
“Ghostly steps.”
Adrian’s figure disappeared from his original position as he moved like a ghost barely avoiding Arthur’s attack.
“Ghostly steps, he actually mastered that technique.” Terry was surprised as he looked at the ghostly figure dodging his brother’s attacks. Ghostly steps was a low-rank Earth tier technique, although it was a low-rank Earth tier technique its difficulty was on par with most mid-rank Earth tier technique, making it very popular in the Scarlett house especially among the younger generation.
Weapons and Techniques were split into Earth, Heaven, Astral and Supreme tier, with each tier further split into low, mid, high and peak. The strength exerted by each level was way greater than the previous level. Cultivators at the Body Refinement realm can only cultivate low and few mid rank Earth tier technique. The Element Gathering realm can cultivate from the low to the high rank Earth tier techniques, while only experts at the Core Manifestation realm can cultivate peak rank Earth tier techniques, as for Heaven tier techniques_ _sigh! They were rare to find while the Astral and Supreme tier techniques were believed to have gone extinct..Otilo!
“This brat is indeed talented.” One of the members of the older generation watching from the shadows commented as he stared at Adrian’s moving figure.
“The younger generation is to be feared.” Another commented.
“Even I may not necessarily be their match if am at the same realm with them.” Another member spoke with a sigh. These guys have been watching the fight from different angles of the mansion as most of them served under Williams.
“What a pleasant surprise, Ghostly steps, little Adi really hid himself well.” Tina spoke with smiles and shining eyes with joy evident in them.
“Indeed.” Both Mark and Stains nodded in approval. Sophia only observed in silence with scrunched brows, she felt she was missing something but couldn’t quite place a finger on it.
Back on stage_ _ _
The situation was more like ‘a cat chase mice’ situation as Adrian ran and dodged Arthur’s attacks while Arthur pursued and attacked. As the situation continued, a question arose in the minds of all spectating including Arthur.
“Eh? Why is Adrian not activating his bloodline power? Can he only dodge?” Terry asked in confusion as he looked towards Adrian in confusion.
‘That’s it, that’s what I have been missing, Adrian is not using his bloodline power, is he too disdainful to do so? No_ _that is not it_ _or is it that_ _’ Sophia went into deep thought too.
Mark and Tina also had the same question in mind, why? The members of the older generation had long noticed this abnormality. Logically, Adrian should have used his bloodline power to counter Arthur but he wasn’t, why? They didn’t believe that it was because he was too disdainful to do so as Adrian wasn’t know for arrogance, or was he trying to drag out the fight, making Arthur overuse his bloodline power? This thought was already in the minds of the spectators but_ _ _
