Mansion of the Patriarch_ _ _
In a courtyard within the large expanse of the Patriarch’s Mansion.
“Lemme guess, you are still intent on breaking Arthur’s leg.” Adrian asked the girl who was helping him walk into the mansion.
“Of course I am, see how he made you look.” Tina replied in a slightly angry tone.
“Sigh_ _You shouldn’t.” Adrian said smiling wryly as he shook his head. He was totally against her intended action as it may trigger a chain reaction.
“Mm?.” Tina raised a brow in question at Adrian’s comment.
“I mean, he is the last child of your uncle, who also heads the other faction in the house, if you break his legs, you will cause problems for your dad at the same time create an opportunity for the other faction to attack. Don’t take me as a fool, I know what has been going on since the incident three years ago.” Adrian spoke as he looked at Tina who seemed to be thinking things through. (We pray so!)
“Alright I will try not to break both of his legs.” Tina said. ‘Mn? When did this girl become so obedient, well that’s good news for all of us.’ Adrian thought inwardly, but Tina’s next words almost made him choke.
“I will just break one of his legs and an arm leaving him with one to walk and eat until he recovers, and don’t worry no one will know that I did it, not even that uncle of mine.” Tina smiled innocently, if not beautiful at Adrian. Adrian creeped out seeing her cute and beautiful smile. This smile may look harmless but it actually signifies the beginning of someone’s misfortune, sigh! Poor Arthur still did not escape the fate of having his bones broken.
“And you, why didn’t you back off from the battle? You clearly knew more than anyone that you weren’t a match for the present Arthur.” Tina suddenly stopped walking as she asked in a slightly angry tone.
“Errhm!_ _ _” Adrian was at loss of what to say as he stared at Tina’s angry face.
“Do you think am dumb.” Tina asked him as the anger in her tone increased.
“No it’s not like that_ _ _.” Adrian opened his mouth to speak but Tina beat him to it.
“You think I do not know of your sufferings, your pains, the humiliation and all that? But you never for once told me who you considered as your best friend, if I hadn’t payed more attention than usual, I wouldn’t have been aware of how the other members of the Scarlett house treated you. Do you still consider me as sister and friend? If then, why? Why didn’t you say a thing to me or elder brothers Mark and Stains? Do you think we wouldn’t care? Even if am not your biological sister, but am at least your best friend.”
Tina lashed out as she teared up. She had watched him suffer for three years in the hands of people whom he was previously better than and she held herself back, waiting for him to confide and open up to her as his sister and a friend, but no_ _ _ the dummy did nothing, maybe he had his reasons, but still, can’t he tell from the way she behaves around him that she cared deeply about him.
“I may play and joke a lot, but I don’t joke or play with things regarding the ones I care about.” Tina spoke in a calm and soft voice as a teardrop fell from her eyes.
Looking at the angry but teary eyes of the girl before him, Adrian was first filed with surprise before a wave of guilt hit him. She was right, since the incident last three years, his treatment within the house especially among the younger generation, changed from the third young master of the Scarlett house, to an outsider with dirty bloodline, even those whom he was once better than, those who revered and envied him, now treated him like trash. The worst of the issues was that his cultivation base hadn’t increased a bit since then thereby solidifying the fact that he was a trash in the hearts of the members of the house.
Yea, speaking of the incident three years ago_ _ _ let’s dive in_ _ _
Three years ago_ _ _
Adrian just turned twelve and his cultivation was at the Seventh rank of the Body Refinement realm, placing him above the majority among the younger generation in the Scarlett house. Adrian was calm and collected, more mature in demeanor and mind than his peers, coupled with his handsome face, high level of comprehension and cultivation, he was loved by the majority of the older generation and at the same time envied by most of the younger generation. He was even a hot topic amongst girls his age and above, as most of the females crushed on him.
Although Adrian received all these varying emotions, he didn’t become arrogant or complacent . He still had his respect for his elders and was friendly to his peers. But his world of everything came crashing down on the day he and his siblings received an invitation from Williams Scarlett, the cousin to the current Scarlett Patriarch and their uncle.

Williams’ Mansion_ _ _
“Hahah_ _ welcome my dear nephews and beautiful niece, how have you been?”
A deep voice sounded in the pavilion where Adrian and co were seated as a middle-aged man in office black suit walked in. The man had long black hair which flowed down his shoulders, gem-like eyes, well chiseled jaw and face and a nice build. The man resembled the current Patriarch a bit and he had a smile plastered on his handsome face. He was Williams Scarlett.
“Greetings uncle.” Stains led the other three as the stood up and greeted the man before them. The kids have obviously heard about this uncle of theirs and his family from their parents but it was their first time coming to his residence and to be honest, from what they heard the man can be summarized with one word,
Ambitious!
They managed to get pieces of information from their parents about his ambitions and little plans to become the patriarch and he was the leader of the other faction within the Scarlett house.
“Good, good, here are your cousins, Arthur, Terry and Sophia, I believe you young ones will have a lot to discuss in common.” Adrian and company turned to the people standing beside the man. One was a youth who seemed no younger than thirteen years of age, he had black curly hairs and a nice build, he was Arthur, the youngest child of Williams Scarlett. The other guy who was a bit taller than him, with a handsome face and also black curly hair and looked fourteen years old, was Terry, Williams’ first son and second child. And the last person was a girl in fiery red knee-length gown, who looked fifteen years old. Although she was fifteen, she already showed signs of possessing the body features of a young lady, she could be described as a nation-toppling beauty, a face that could cause war among nations. The girl had her gem-like eyes on Stains as she stared intently at him. She was Sophia, the oldest child of Williams Scarlett.
“Well I will leave you youngsters to enjoy yourselves.” Williams spoke as he disappeared in a gust of wind.
‘You wish to know how strong our opponents are, use this opportunity to test them out.’ Williams’ voice rang in Sophia’s mind.
‘Yes dad.’ Sophia responded inwardly.
“Maids! Serve the food.” Sophia called out to the servants who quickly served the dishes.
An hour later_ _ _
The seven persons in the pavilion were done eating.
“Elder brother Stains, I heard your cultivation has just increased, you are indeed the number one in the younger generation.” Terry praised Stains with a smile. Him starting this conversation and picking Stains was planned by his father and sister. The main aim was to see and measure the strength of these cousins of theirs. Although young, all seven of them were more shrewd than anyone their age.
“Ah! Indeed, but if am not wrong, younger sister Sophia should be closing in at the Peak of the Second Sky of Element Gathering realm.” Stains responded with a smile, he clearly knew of his cousin’s intentions or to put it rightly, his uncle’s intentions.
‘Hmph! What a good Stains, skillfully avoiding any further probing and making sister the topic of discussion.’ Terry commented inwardly.
‘Worthy of being Stains indeed.’ Sophia praised inwardly. She looked at the faces of the other people in the pavilion. Tina was keeping up her almost ‘I don’t care’ attitude as she discussed beautiful nonsense with Adrian, while Mark joined once in a while.
‘Seems like we can only ask for a spar.’ The three siblings looked at each other and the immediately understood the look in their eyes.
“I propose a spar, what do you guys think?” Terry spoke once more as he smiled looking at the four people across the table.
‘Sigh! It finally came.’ Stains spoke inwardly. From the time he stepped foot here, he knew they will have to spar.
“A spar?” Hearing Terry, Tina stopped her discussion with Adrian as she asked pretending to be surprised.
“Yes a spar, let it just serve as a warm-up for us all before the houses competition two years from now, of course if you are not comfortable with it you can still decline.” Terry spoke with a mocking smile.
“How can we miss such opportunity given by brother Terry from his good heart? Don’t worry we will definitely treat you well.” Tina’s seemingly grateful and innocent response changed Terry’s facial expression to an extremely ugly one but he couldn’t lash out. Tina’s words sounded nice but it’s meaning we’re clear to all.
“Good, good_ _ _ let’s go to the arena then.” Terry suppressed his anger as he spoke through gritted teeth.
Looking at the exchange between their sister and Terry, her brothers couldn’t help but smile wryly as they walked towards the arena, as for the other three, their faces was nothing good.
