Chapter 13: An Elder

The stand off between the two females raised the atmosphere to its climax as the spectators got excited, ready to see something interesting.

Meanwhile the source of everything, Adrian could only shake his head as he looked at Tina. Knowing her from childhood, he knew that once she decides on something, no one can stop her.

“Then so be it.” Tina spat out this word as she moved at greater speed than before, Sophia also moved at the same time.

Boom!!

The two beauties clashed sending a wave of terrifying heat across a distance of three hundred meters.

“Pui!!_ _ _” Terry who wasn’t able to move a certain distance from the two figures was hit by the shockwave, making him puke blood, while Arthur instantly fell unconscious. Compared to these two, Adrian was fine as he was pushed back by Tina before the clash, keeping him away from the fighting zone.

“So strong.”

“Is this the strength of Element Gathering realm cultivators?”

“This two girls are monsters.” The second sky cultivator spoke.

Majority of the people here were at the Body Refinement realm, only a small number was at the Element Gathering realm, but they themselves knew that getting hit by the shockwave from the fight, will cause severe injuries, Terry was a living example.

The fight between this two, did not go unnoticed by the upper echelons of the house, the only pretended not to know in order to determine the strengths of the younger generation, especially the two on stage as their fight portrayed the clash between the two factions in the house to a certain degree. As for destroying the stage, please! They can just make a new one, what is a fighting stage as against the future of the house and its politics?

Crack!!

The two girls continued to fight as web-like cracks appeared across the stage, but the didn’t seem to care as the were engrossed in their fight. Even if one was confident in defeating the other, they weren’t that arrogant as to not pay attention to their opponent, after all it was a difficult feat to defeat a genius at the same Sky. The two girls didn’t show any signs of weakness as the clashed heavily.

Fifteen minutes later..

The duo were still in a heated fight and if one looked around the fighting stage, craters of varying depths and sizes were all over the place. It no longer resembled what it was before.

“Something is not right, logically speaking, although they are of the same Sky, Sophia is at the peak stage of that Sky while Tina should be at the early stage, why is Tina not loosing ground even after so long?” Terry frowned in confusion. He wasn’t the only one who thought so, the spectators that were at the Element Gathering realm were also confused, as for those below this level, they could barely keep up with the movements of the duo so how could they tell who was winning and who was loosing.

In a certain angle close to the arena, the figures of two men stood still as the looked at the current situation on the stage, the aura exuding from their bodies far surpassed anyone around and their presence seemed undetectable by anyone around.

“The Scarlet princess indeed lives up to expectations, her strength is already this terrifying.” One of the hidden figures spoke.

“Her momentum seems unstoppable and I can’t even see through her cultivation.” The other man said.

“Indeed, but Sophia isn’t bad herself, it’s indeed a blessing for the Scarlet house to have this two.” The other man spoke. The two of them were members of the older generation and they had cultivation at Eight Sky of the Element Gathering realm so they had a better general overview of the current situation than anyone else. Because the couldn’t break through to the Core Manifestation realm they couldn’t attain the position of an Elder, even becoming a Vice-elder needed one to be at Half-step Core Manifestation realm.

“Seems like we are not the only ones watching.” One of the men spoke as he stared in the direction opposite them. Following his eyes the other man saw the figure of three people, two men and a lady, all middle-aged, watching the fight on stage.

“When will the house respond?” The other guy asked his partner, but he only remained silent.

“Shouldn’t Tina be loosing ground.”

“Yes, come to think of it I find it abnormal too.”

The spectators discussed among themselves. Obviously, Sophia already noticed this abnormality, with her cultivation at the peak of the fourth Sky she could challenge cultivators a rank higher, although Tina could also do that but she was just at early stages of the fourth Sky, so..

Fifteen minutes later..

Sophia had a deep frown on her lovely face as she was already sweating, the fight had gone on for quite sometime and the vexing part was that her opponent had a calm look on her face and hadn’t even broken a bead of sweat, seeing this, she felt that something was amiss.

During the houses competition last year, she defeated Tina and was placed second only below Stains, but now she discovered that she could no longer see through Tina, but she will not allow herself to loose, with that in mind she fought fiercely and even had thoughts of opening her bloodline power, Tina on the other hand only faced Sophia’s ferocious attack with a calm face.

‘Hmph! if not for grandpa’s reminder, I would have sent you flying ages ago.’ Tina spoke inwardly. Her grandfather had taught her a skill that allowed her to suppress her cultivation to a certain level of her choice and had asked her to suppress her cultivation whenever she fought someone as it served as a form of training for her and a hidden card if need be. Although she was extremely angry and wanted nothing more but to beat Sophia black and blue but remembering her grandpa’s words, she held back.

“Star explosion!”

“Flower of fury!”

Boom!!

Another explosion sounded as half of the stage fell off. One should know that the stage they were fighting on was for cultivators at the Body Refinement realm and it couldn’t endure such level of strength, it was a already a miracle that it managed to last this long although it was no longer in one piece, the last strike exhibited by the two girls was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

“Stop!!”

A deep voice sounded as the figure of a middle-aged man appeared in the air. An overbearing energy immediately appeared over the stage as all the fire element in the air moved towards the man who seemed to be floating in air. The man wore casual clothes which fitted his robust figure, he had white hairs and an air which commanded respect. Silence ensued across the area as all eyes were on the man in the air.

“Flight? Is that even possible for humans?”

“Oh my goodness!”

“Is this real?”

The spectators were shocked at the sight of one hovering in the air. Although there were technologies like space ship, air ships, flying boards, which could help in flight, but flying on your own was..mind blowing for most of them present.

Instantly Tina and Sophia felt the fire element in the air dissipate as the ceased their fight. With the presence of that person they couldn’t continue their fight even if they wanted to.

Meanwhile in the angles around the arena..

“An Elder appeared!” The man earlier spoke in a slightly heavy tone.

“Indeed, they sent an elder to pacify the situation.” The other man spoke in reverent tone as he looked at the elder in the air. It was his dream and that of many to be able to attain that realm but that realm was just too hard to attain.

“Seems like we can’t keep hiding now that an expert at the Core Manifestation realm has appeared, let’s go.” With that the duo glanced at the trio at the other side and they all nodded and ascended the stage at the same time.

Swish!!

The sound of wind rushing, sounded as five figures appeared from heaven knows where and bowed to the man in the air.

“Greetings Elder.” The five spoke simultaneously.

‘Indeed an expert at the Core Manifestation realm.’ Both Tina and Sophia spoke inwardly as the too turned and bowed in respect to the man.

“Greetings Elder.” Although their parents had higher status than the man in the air, the fact still existed that he was an elder and a senior, so courtesy demands the pay their respects on seeing him

Terry, Adrian and the few persons who had a strong backing and were on stage came forward too and bowed to the man.

“Greetings Elder!”

“Elder!”

“Oh my, an elder appeared!!”

Most of the people there were either from a branch family of the Scarlet house which spread across the city and outside it or were of low birth and status within the Scarlet house, so they weren’t of aware of the man’s identity, they only knew that the Scarlet family’s elders were powerful beings and were always in seclusion, so seeing the actions and expressions of the members of the older generation and the rest, the were shocked and immediately bowed in respect to the man.

“Greetings Elder.”

“Mn.” The middle-aged man nodded in response to the five people of the older generation before him, before turning his gaze to the two girls.

“Twin pearls let’s end it here for today, what do you say?” The man looked at the duo as he asked with a smile on his face. He didn’t dare to be forceful with the two as he could not afford to offend the forces behind them. He was but an ordinary elder in the house, while the two were pearls of the Scarlet house.

‘If I insist on breaking Arthur’s leg, the strife between the two factions will escalate and I will put dad in a tight corner, I will let him roam around with his legs for a while.’ Tina thought , but she will still break Arthur’s leg for sure, with this in mind..

“Since Elder had spoken we will oblige.” The duo spoke once again.

“Okay.”

Swish!! With the sound of the wind, the elder sped through the air towards the inner regions of the Scarlet house.

“Let’s go.” Sophia took her brothers and left the stage after giving Tina a deep look.

“Let’s go.” Tina took Adrian and left without caring about Sophia’s gaze either because she was too lazy to care or because she was more concerned about Adrian’s health.

“It finally ended.”

“They left.”

“An elder had to descend to stop those two.”

“I could hardly breathe in the presence of That man.”

“Oh if I could reach that level.”

“Shush! do you think you can amount to anything?”

Amidst the chatter, the spectators scattered and returned to their various posts or whatever they were doing. That same day, the event on the stage spread among the disciples of the Scarlet house and the appearance of an elder shook the core of all who heard it including some members of the older generation.
