— The Bar —
Breathing in and out, Judy took a step forward closing in on the batwing doors. She was doubting there was someone but as she got closer, the noise coming from the other side increased. Though when she was on the point of opening the doors, someone came flying through landing on the ground with a big “thud” sound! What was going one inside! As soon as he got out, the doors closed bouncing back. Judy glanced back and saw the one that just came flying out, he was a man in his 40s with boldness kicking in from the middle. He looked dunked with his face red, he wasn’t moving from the position in which he landed: with his behind sticking in the air. A few moments later, Judy heard him snoring hard on the ground as if he was not lying on the ground with his face smashed on it and his butt in the air in front of a bar. She wanted to help the man, but had idea how nor where to bring him, she noticed a tree not far from the place and decided to at least bring him there so he won’t block the entrance. Dragging the man on the ground which was not easy by the way, Judy laid him under the tree with his arms crossed.
She went back in front of the bar and finally decided to enter.
Pushing the swinging doors open she stepped in. The “oh so noisy” place was now dead silent you could even hear flies. Everyone there stopped doing what they were doing to look at her, from the guy in the corner of the place to the bartender, all eyes were on Judy. It made her nervous, they were all paying attention to the newcomer and at some point, some seemed to be in a dazed.
Walking like a robot Judy approached the bar, she wanted to sit, but did not know if she could she felt so out of place and she was.
“well come one, have you all never seen a beautiful lady before! Is that how you greet guests?” the bartender shouted towards the staring crowd which seemed to have brought back life to them and little by little they all started to move again. She cleaned her hands on her apron and directed herself towards Judy, putting both her arms on the bar she greeted Judy” hi, the name’s Josephine but my friends call me Jo” she extended her hand at Judy but the redhead was hesitant on shaking it she ended up taking it though as she thought it to but impolite not to respond to a handshake. “Judy” she just replied.
“sorry ‘bout them, we don’t receive strangers here often. What are you drinkin’?” Jo asked already taking a glass to serve Judy. The girl was wearing a black sweatshirt with red stripes at the end of the sleeves she looked a bit older then Judy and that was all. Seeing as she was nice towards her, Judy relaxed a little bit and felt less shy. “ oh no it’s OK, I don’t have any money!” Judy shyly answered frantically moving her hands and her face becoming red. Seeing her reaction Jo could not help but sympathise “ha ha! Anymore redness and you might disappear!” she joked. “don’t worry, it’s on the house”.
“then some water would be great!”
“let me fetch that for you then” Jo said before going towards the door she came from.
Taking this time to observe, Judy noticed that it was actually a very clean place compared to the rest of the town, everything actually screamed wealth in here, it was like two completely opposite worlds.
Five minutes later Jo was back with a bottle of water that she gave to Judy “anything else I can help you with?” she asked with a smile.
“uhm... I am looking for information I won’t be long here... I am just passing actually.” Judy let out opening the bottle given to her.
“oh don’t feel shy, there’s been plenty before you ha ha! What do you want to know tell me” putting her right hand on her left cheek to hold her head Jo sounded so interested and absorbed in what Judy was saying but she instantly paled hearing the girl in front’s next words “do you know anything about the Full Red Moon Pack? Uhm... Its a werewolf pack” Judy was playing with her bottle she was therefore oblivious to the silence reigning in the bar, more then before and the atmosphere was becoming more and more thicker.
With a stretched smile on her face Jo replied “no dear do you?” making a sign for the others to not alert girl, she waited for her answer but it never came. She then added “you don’t believe werewolves exist do you? Listen kid, for your own good you better not”
With such warning Judy felt something was wrong, but she was somewhat sure of being in the right place. She eventually decided to leave the bar and go back to the forest to try her luck. Jo on the other hand wanted her to stay for a bit more. “sorry but I can’t” Judy politely refused while descending from her high chair and taking the exit.
Just as she was pushing the doors on the other side, she got pushed out of nowhere and landed on the ground.
“ow who—” Judy tried to get up and to her head but she couldn’t, not that her arms were not receiving the order but because they were restrained. The next moment she felt a weight on her and was still unable to move, she did not understand what was going on as she was still shook from the push.
When she regained her spirits she realized she was being held by two men, they were holding her down, face on the ground and another had his foot on her.
“let go of me!” she tried to say but it was hard.
“hold her down well” a voice came. Judy followed where it came from and she had to raise her head as the person was in front of her, which was no easy task. The man was standing in front of her with his arms crossed. They held her down like that for 5 minutes before another man came. She felt so tired from trying to free herself and moving in every direction that she was at the brink of exhaustion.
“who are you” the man who just came asked her.
“I’m looking for the Full Red Moon Pack, I — I have an important message for them!” Judy blurted out.
Held on the ground like a criminal Judy was struggling to get free. Why were they holding her down like that?
“I —I’m looking for a werewolf pack please, I don’t mean any trouble, I’ll even go on the spot!”. “please just let me go!” she was begging, but no reaction from their part.
"nothing will save you now ginger" the man threatened.
" I have an important message for Calev Willows!"
Upon hearing his name in the mouth of a stranger, a girl he's clearly never seen before... True, he doesn't remember women he's been with, but he would remember a redhead... Right?
He bent down to her level, his gaze on her with eyes as dark as ever.
" I will not ask a third time. What. Is. Your. Name ?"
If it was not in the situation in which she was, Judy almost found him handsome, he had long black hair, curly on the edges. His green eyes were mesmerizing but she noticed it darkening at the mention of Calev, did he know him? But his current expression gave her goose bumps, she was too scared to ask him anything. With a shaky voice she answered "Judy"
Thinking as she told the guy what he wanted to know he would free her and seeing as he got up from his position she felt relieved. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding as she thought she was saved. Unfortunately, his next words froze her. "then I'll make it quick Judy" he let out while raising his hand which grew incredibly sharp fangs.
