Chapter1:Who heck is this girl?!
There was something about that girl, she was everywhere. I honestly understand her or where she came from. Her excuse was, "I just want to be friends" According to her she really had a hard time making friends back in her old school. She was 'different ' from all her other peers. That's the most laughable thing I've ever heard especially coming from Kaycee freaking Langdon! AKA billionaire rich kid, daughter of billionaire tech savvy Jacob Langdon!. She moved all the way from the big city into this small town? And she wants me to believe she had a hard time making friends! Right. I mean... I'm not judging or anything like that but come on! She can literally buy anyone to be her friend if she wanted! unless being rich isn't as nice and glamorous as it seems. But that's impossible this isn't some sort of teenage drama flick about money not being able to buy happiness!. Again, I'm not judging her, it just makes me uncomfortable that's all. "Hey Nia!" I jumped in fear when this girl popped out of nowhere. It was Kaycee again. Looks like she was waiting for me at the school gates. I tried avoiding her bright blue gaze as I attempted to slip past her but to no avail... "I was waiting for you, let's go!" She said excitedly. I gave out a sigh of defeat. We walked out of the school gates along with the other hundreds of students buzzing about. "Don't you have chauffeur or something to take you home?" I asked, glancing at her. "Well yea but..." I zoned out on her seemingly exciting explanation of why she would rather walk home with the common folks than take a limo with probably air conditioning in the her car. It gave me a moment to take an actual look at Kaycee. She was honestly really beautiful. Blonde flowing hair with a streak of blue and pink on the side and her blue eyes gleamed, especially when she's excited like this. She looked more like a skater girl than a billionaire's kid. Cool. "-Nia! Did you get that?" I blinked a couple times, returning to myself. "Yea, I heard you." I simply said. "Great! As I was saying..." She said dragging it out as if she knew I wasn't really listening. "Hanging out and seeing the town would be cool, we'll do all sorts of fun things!" What? We? "I'm sorry? -We?" I glanced back at her and Kaycee only gave a grin. She was acting oblivious! Very much aware of what came out of her glossy, rich mouth- Woah that was weird! "Yea, or we can go by your place, I don't mind" she smiled. I came to a halt and turned to face her. "I'm sorry do you think we're friends...?" I asked, genuinely confused. I raked my brain trying to remember if I said or did something that might have made her believe, in the few times we've exchanged words, we're friends now, who happen to tour the town and hang out at each other's places. "I mean... why not? I like you" she shrugged, giving me a lazy smile. "...." I just stared at her in clear disbelief and bust out laughing, Kaycee joined in too. "You're so weird, is that how you tried making friends back in your old school?" I finally said in between breaths after a while of laughing in hysteria, mainly distress of this weird situation I've unknowingly put myself in. "Well... I that's - ah!" Kaycee was suddenly on the ground. She was pushed by some kid skating past us and a second later a bunch of other kids zoomed past us, nearly running us over with their bikes "GET BACK HERE MILLER!" one of the boys shouted chasing after the skater kid. "Oh no!" Kaycee jumped to her feet. Her eyes blazing with righteousness all of a sudden. "That kid is in danger! He needs our help!" "I'm sorry what? No.. no..no" I objected frantically shaking my head. "We don't know that kid and we shouldn't get involved otherwise we're gonna get in trouble too-" I was cut off when Kaycee yanked my arm and I found myself on Kaycee's skateboard. "You skate too!?" I blurted. Kaycee just chuckled and I heard her mutter a "hold on". I strangled her waist for dear life and shut my eyes tight. I could feel the rushing wind on my face and my constant screaming while we zoomed towards danger, acting hero. We finally caught up to those bikers. We screeched to a halt when we saw them at a distance. It was the kid that was on the skateboard and the bikers- oh, I recognised those kids! "That's Bruce and he's crew! Man, those guys are major bullies, freaking annoying!" We slowly moved toward the crowd where we could finally hear everything. "You think you're so smart, don't you Miller! Well you can never outsmart me!" Bruce sneered. "Boys, teach him a lesson," he ordered his minions. His face was practically flaming at this point. Whatever this Miller kid did to make Bruce this mad! Man, it must be serious! The two guys grabbed the skater kid, who I guess is Miller, and they began beating him up. The poor kid didn't stand a chance. I should probably record this and send it to the princi- "Hey!" Kaycee shouted at Bruce and his friends. Everyone turned to us finally noticing they had an audience. My heart dropped. "Nia? " Bruce's eyes narrowed at me. "What the heck are you doing here? And whose this?" he said, turning to Kaycee with a sneer. "She- " I began, "I'm here friend! what are YOU doing to that poor kid, you big bully!" Kaycee interjected. "What- " Bruce switched from mildly annoyed to straight up fuming the more Kaycee kept talking and the more I yanked on her arm to signal her to stop talking! The more she talked! What is wrong with this girl! The more she talked the more it was not looking good for either the bloody skater kid and the two of us - " Who do you think you're talking to!" Bruce growled as he started stalking towards us like some predator. "Kaycee! Let's get out of here, we don't stand a chance against these guys!" I whispered furiously. I grabbed on her arm but she snatched it away and walked closer to Bruce! What is she doing! "Do you think this is okay? Picking on kids who are smaller and weaker than you?-" "I'm- I'm not that weak -" somehow the bloody- nosed Miller kid chose that specific moment to speak up, and that earned him another punch in the stomach, "-arg!" "Shut up Miller! I'm not done with you!" Bruce barked at the kid. But man, did that not fire Kaycee's righteous fire! "Stop it! People like you are disgusting and just so you know I'm not afraid of you! Why not pick on someone your own size!" She barked back at him. She was now toe to toe with freaking Bruce! "Why don't we fight fair?... Women to women," she smirked. Bruce's hands were flying straight to her throat "you little-" "KAYCEE!" -
