There was a village in Nigeria called Isu where Mr.and Mrs. Richard lived with there two children, Amanda and Prince Mr. Richard was working as a security guard and Mrs. Richard was a trader.Mr.and Mrs. Richard were honest, hard working and friendly, and they tried to instill these virtues into their children. It happened that the economy of the company Mr. Richard was working was dwindling and they could not pay the salary of the workers. The company terminated the appointment of some of the workers and Mr. Richard was among them. when Mr. Richard his plight to his family they wept knowing that they lost their major means of livelihood. Mr. Richard family however were God fearing Christina's so they took Solace in God that he would make a way for them. The family had faith in God and they were obedient to God's words. They start their morning devotion daily at six in the morning. At these times, they sing praises or worship songs, prayed and meditated on word of God. The family's obedience and trust in God was unquestionably. They believed that one who trusts in God wouldn't not be moved by the situations of life, the person would not be put into trouble because of difficult life situation. They became poorer because of the lost of employment of Mr. Richard. Yet they were steadfast in their morning and evening prayer. At this time they always teach their children how to live a Goldy, holy and righteous life. One day their neighbor's wife Mrs. Pascal asked Mrs. Richard. "I heard that your husband has been fired from his work." "Yes, that is how we see it." "Then why does your family still wakes up early praising and worshipping God?" "It is because in every condition you should pray to God, believe him and follow Him day by day and he would take you to the place of fulfillment and greatness." "Is that so, Madam Pastor?" While Mr. Richard's family trusted God for a better tomorrow, the Pascal's family who did not trust that God can make a way of escape from poverty would not allow them to have peace. They did not know that no condition is permanent. Mrs.Richard dreaded the thought of coming out from the house because of obnoxious attitude of Mrs. Pascal. Mrs. Pascal was making some insulting comments instead of giving passionate encouraging words to her neighbor. In all these Mr. and Mrs. Richard would table her behavior to God without confronting her. One day Mr. Richard was going to his farm, Mr. Pascal approached him and said: "I learnt you lost your work?" "Yes that is true but God is in control." "Is that so!, I hope your children will be able to go to school." Mr. and Mrs. Pascal could not control their empty pride. They treated the Richard's family with hatred. It is not as if Mr. and Mrs. Pascal were so rich. It was only that they did not have fear of God and that both them were still receiving their meagre income from the market. What the Pascal's did not know was that one with God is a winner. The Richard intensified prayer, their inner strength was fortified and they remain consistent, strong and diligent regardless of all odds or demands. They pray still: "God we know we have financial issues but we thank you God for there is no situation you can not solve." what God can not do dose no exist: Whenever they prayed they stopped worrying about their current situation but believing God because they had the assurance of God's presence in their problem. Their prayer to God was continuous and they never stopped putting their situation into prayer while waiting for their breakthrough to come. like father like son, Prince and his sister had good parental background. They were trained to have the fear of God . Mr. and Mrs. Richard worked diligently for survival. Their children woke up in the morning at six with their parent. Prince and Amanda would always be one of the first pupils to be at school premises before eight O' clock in the morning, their neighbour Michael and Peter were harassing them . The family continued to trust in God but Mr. and Mrs. Richard were troubled the day Andrew came back looking sad. "Prince what is the matter you look sad ?" "It is Michael." "Which Michael?" "Michael Pascal, our neighbour ." " What happened and what did you do to him?" "Daddy i did nothing to him. As we were coming back from school, Michael said, look at this miserable boy They said he is brilliant but all the good grades he is getting where will they lead him to. They are poor he can not even further his education, I will enter school because my father has already has already saved the money for it. When he said that i felt bad and i started crying. He then slapped me and asked: "Why are you crying? What i said is it not true? On hearing the narratives, Mr. Richard shed tears and went with his son to report the matter to Mr. Pascal so that he would caution his son, Michael. On reaching there, he greeted Mr. Pascal. He snubbed him, Mr. Richard still narrated why he was in his house and instead of Mr. Pascal to show remorse and warn his son, he said ; " is that all ? What my son said is it not the truth?" " Pardon! Is that your response? well,' No condition is permanent,' We are serving a living God ," Mr. Richard too Prince and left the scene. In the same way Michael after months accused Prince for what he did not know about. Prince said: "I am not the one. When did that happen? " You are the person who gossiped against i." " No it is not true, I don't know the person you are talking about." "Come here you know him." suddenly he pushed Prince and he fell down with his school bag. Prince's father heard it abd went to Mr. Pascal to complain. Michael's mother said " it is a case of of children playing." "Please if it is children's play or not you should tell your children to leave my son alone."He left with Prince in anger. " Daddy why are they very cruel. They hate me so much so much that i have started wondering what i did to them. In fact their attitude is strange. It is frightened." "You have done nothing to them. The problem is that they do not have the fear of God . They are miscreant and as such they behave badly." Daddy i don't feel like going to that school again with them so that they will not hurt me." "You will go to school but, i will lead you to school every morning and i will look for a bigger boy who will always come back with you to make sure they don't molest you anymore." "Thank you daddy I am happy about that because they are now making life unbearable for me." =CHAPTER TWO= PRINCE AND AMANDA Prince and Amanda his sister were well nurtured by their parents. They were God fearing children and their disposition was outstanding. Their school noticed them and held them in high esteem. Prince was therefore made the school perfect irrespective of the responsibility as a school perfect; Prince was performing excellently well academically. Amanda, Prince's sister was equally good. She was a responsible girl and she studied diligently to pass her examinations. She always help her mother to do numerous house chores, whenever she returns back from school. In the school, she was helping the illiterate student to understand what they could not understand while the lesson was going on. Prince and Amanda were taught to live and holy and righteous life so they can embraced with is right, true, sound, discreet and prudent. The problem Amanda had during primary school education was that she must go to school in the company of others. Otherwise, she could be attacked and fought on the road by a girl who came to school with a group of other pupils, unruly children are everywhere. for reasons best known to her she would always like to find Amanda and fight her . These type of human in the society will hate someone either because of the way that individual talks, walks or carries himself or herself. Everything about their enemy triggers hatred. Amanda was very worried about this amonsity.One day she asked her father. why was she a victim for this girl. Mr. Richard replied his daughter and said: "People who dislike you are afraid of your strength. The strong point they see in you generates jealousy in them . They probably dislike also, because your strong points reminds them of their weak points that creates hatred in them towards you. They see you as a threat, They might have seen your excellent spirit as a threat to their mediocre spirit. That is why you must be careful of your circle of friends; "Daddy what is the strength in me ? Some pupils come to school with cars but we trek. Why can't they leave me alone?" "Amanda, Some children are privileged to come to school with cars. Those children would not understand the challenges who trek to school go through. Note that i cannot afford to buy a car, that you suffer this unfortunate situation should not discourage you. After all , children are conveyed to school with car are not more intelligent or responsible than you who goes to school without a car; " It is alright daddy and trekking to school makes me stronger." "Yes my daughter that is true. The tough time now will launch you into greatness in future. So do not worry , but rather have courage, be determined on what you want. Have a priority in everything and be accountable in any assignment given to you." Despite these entire ordeal, Amanda and Prince were able to complete their and primary education in good time and with good results, before graduation, Amanda income generating skills like needle work which enabled to stitch dresses. After their primary school education, their parents were determined to break the circle of poverty in their family using all they had to send them to unity secondary school. In secondary school, their attitudes were not hidden. Amanda was made a sacristan of the school chapel. she was to make sure that the chapel was neat and arranged for worship, She performed this assignment given to her excellently well . She was given a recognition at the assembly hall in the presence of other students for work well done. Amanda and Prince were communicating regularly to remind themselves of the need to maintain the good virtues they learnt from home. They did not relent in their effort to be close to God by attending church service on the campus. They were having their quiet time and they meditated regularly, this they did because they knew that the further you drift from God , the more confused your thinking will be . Prince and Amanda, two responsible children were the pride of their school and their parents because while some students were not particularly forthcoming in representing the school for sports and quiz competition. =CHAPTER THREE= MR. PASCAL AND HIS FAMILY Parents that failed to give a solid up bringing to their children most times have cause regret. Their inability to play the role will make them regret at last, even when they repent for their failure, it still manifest in the children's behavior and progress, peace and prosperity. lack of inculcating good virtue in children results to life stress, unrest, bully, chaos and dishonest. The children of such parents that do not mentor their children properly sometimes are behind their mates, their progress is not as rapid as others . children who on their own refused to adhere to their parents instructions also fall into category of late progress . Though when either the parents or the children repent and confess their sins , God of grace and mercy answers them. On the other hand, parents who spend to make sure their children are well brought up with fear of God are always happy to see their children progressing well. Such children as they adhere to their parental upbringing will have no cause yo regret. Mr. Pascal and his family needed a repentant attitude to things and when they did they started having a brighter future, Mr. and Mrs. Pascal were self employed. They sold commodities in the market, they were not rich but were comfortable with the turnover they made. Mr. and Mrs. Pascal were more serious in their business than in the pu bringing of their children. They always left the house early in the morning and kept the children in the company of the house maid and would come back in the evening. They did not have a close relationship with God either, they went to church but there was no extra effort to commune with God privately. They were not having morning prayers;they did not have time to fellowship with others brethren and children. They could not give what they did not have so they were not teaching their children good morals. The children grew up with what the house maid taught them because as Mr. and Mrs. Pascal returned back from market very late in the evening tired they retired to bed. Early in the morning they would instruct the house maid in what to do for the day and went for their business, the children Micheal, Paul and Rosemary,lived in a world of their own . They had little or no time to stay with their parent. As a result, the children lacked discipline, fear of God , humility, integrity, respect. Nobody in the real sense can reap what he did not show. In the society today, individuals focus on getting wealth, power and fame by use fowl means because they lack upbringing and there is no fear of God. The children were of Mr. Pascal were identified one day when the principal came to the school hall for inspection and he saw the two students looking unkempt. He told the students to stand up and he asked: "What is your name?" "My name is Michael Pascal." "You what is your name?" My name is Paul Pascal." "Why didn't you wash your your school uniforms?" "Our house maid did not wash them." "At your age the Pascal's are still waiting for your house maid to wash your uniforms ? If she did not wash them, why did not wash them yourselves?" "I don't know how to wash them." "How old are you?" "I'm 15years and my brother is 13years." "At your age you can not wash your uniform, what of your parents?" "They went to market." What of your hair ?Were you waiting for your house to comb your hair also?" "Sir we did not see our comb." "Paul and Michael you should know where you keep your comb so that you comb your hair everyday with it." " The your parents to come and see me." The following day Mr. and Mrs. Pascal went to see the school to honour the school principal's invitation. The principal was busy with other school activities. Mr. Pascal who was impatient started asking in loud voice: "Why is it that the principal who sent for us is not here in the office to address us?" "The secretary replied he is in the office but he was in a meeting with his teachers; "He sent for us he should see us do that we can go back to our business." "The secretary said lower your voice you're disturbing". "I am disturbing rather your school is disturbing us, how can the principal say i should come to see him and i have spent about thirty minutes waiting abd you are telling me that he was in a meeting.I have to go when he wants me to come and see him, let him make out more time." He stood up in anger and irrespective of the fact that his wife advised him to wait he refused. His wife waited, after his meeting the principal called the couple to come in. "The man has left sir but his wife is waiting". The secretary said." "Call her in." Where is your husband? The principal asked. "His not around he has gone to attend to other things." You should also go and attend to other things till your husband is ready to come." " Sir please don not upset. I am here on behalf of the family. Talk to me sir." " Alright first of all when you reach home tell your husband that he is one father out of many fathers in the school so when he comes to the principal's office he should humble himself knowing that he is one out of many fathers that have cases to be discussed. By the way, Madam why is it that you as a mother will not make sure that your children uniform are neat and their hair combed before they leave for school?" Mrs. Pascal said "I'm sorry Sir, Mercy our house maid is supposed to do it for them." "Madam you have failed as a mother, you are the type that leave your children and your home for the house maid. Have you even taught your 15 and 13 years old boys how to wash their clothes and comb their hair?" "I think they know how to do it. You are thinking you are not even sure." "With due respect Sir, you don't have any right to talk to me anyhow you like ok." "Is it what you are you saying Madam? A woman that has failed in her duties should not send their unkempt children to his school." " Is it all you have to say? I am going Sir." Mrs. Pascal at home told her husband what transpired between her and the principal. Her husband flared and said: "Thank God that i left there if not, I could have told him being a principal does not give him the audacity to talk to us the way he pleases." Three weeks later, Michael and Paul were on their way to school again with dirty uniform and uncombed hair. A teacher saw them and advised them to go home to change and comb their hair, the indisciplined children instead of them to listen to the advice started abusing and insulting the teacher. The teacher on arrival to school reported the incident to the head teacher. The teacher went to Michael and Paul classes and confirmed unkempt they look. The head teacher went to the principal and reported them, without delay the principal suspended them from the school for the remaining part of the year. The resultant effect was that they did not take the promotional examinations. CHEAPER FOUR MICHAEL AND PAUL SUSPENSION Michael and Paul were suspended from from the school because of indiscipline, and their unruly behavior and laziness to keep themselves tidy. Their parents did not help the matters because instead of them to be apologetic and learn from the principal's comment,they rather felt insulted . They failed to use the principal's counsel to teach their children some basic things in life , now their children are idle in the house . They would sleep and wakeup when they deemed fit. They would force the house maid to cook want they want and they take and eat at will. There was no more budget for feeding in the house, the food stuff Mrs. Pascal bought for one week , they would finish it in three days, she would complain and get children would not give any satisfactory response. "Papa Michael this thing I am saying is becoming alarming what will i do?" "What were you saying? her husband asked. " The food in the house, since theses children are in the house on suspension, the food stuff which i bought to last for one week, finishes in three days. I have asked Mercy she said, that Michael and Paul forced her to cook whatever they wanted and they eat at any time,they eat more than necessary and even invite their friends, when they come, they feed them also. "What am I going to do now?" "I feel you should sort that out with them ." "You have to help me discipline them or you have to increase the feeding money for the mouth." You know that is not possible to increase the feeding money, what we shall do is to get them another school as soon as possible so that they would be leaving the house to school. " That will be a long time because they will stay for another three months before school session." " Yes I know, I thought of that also. Another option is to take them to the market with us." "I agree with you that is what we are going to do; Michael and Paul were informed about the decision of going to the market. They rejected the idea, their father threatened them thru would either go to market or the kitchen would be locked. After a long argument they agreed to go the market their parents, in the market another problem developed. They would watch their parents sell and they knew the price their parents tagged on each item. When the customers come if the parents are not there,they will tell the customer higher than the cost. Mr Pascal exclaimed "Oh! My children have you refused to be responsible, committed and loyal in what they do" Mr. and Mrs. Pascal were depressed, they have forgotten the saying that says 'Like father like son; He has forgotten that he has no relationship with God and that he is cruel and insensitive to others. CHAPTER FIVE VIST TO ROSEMARY Michael and his father arrived the city safely, the following day they decided to visit Rosemary.Rosemary was sleeping when her father and her brother arrived at their house. "Oh daddy welcome, I was even thinking of visiting home; "Well we are here with you, how are you and your husband? " We are fine daddy, please let me look for something refreshments first,and we we talk because marriage from my experience so far is not an easy thing. "Forget about refreshments, why are you talking as if you not comfortable? " Daddy it is nog easy o! The man i call my husband is always complaining about me; "Whst is complaint about?" "He said i am lazy, I am not respectful, I am not humble, I am not not disciplined and i can not cook well or the keep the house neat . "What is your response about his observation? "Nothing all i know is that I am trying my best, the complaint became worse when his mother visited us. In my opinion, I don't want that woman in this house again. "You are not being realistic. You want the woman to her son alone "Paul my outspoken brother you are adding salt to an injury", Rosemary said. "That is not true. I am just being realistic, i know the truth is bitter, I am telling you the truth just listen to us attentively. "Rosemary he is saying the truth please just listen,Pa Pascal said. "Remember the other day i came here it was the same complaint from your husband, have you addressed the matters he complained about, if you have, you would not be sleeping at eleven in the morning and leave your house dirty and untidy the way it is. What does that mean? The only conclusion that can he deduced is that you are lazy . "Let him complain now, I am even tired of this marriage, I want to come home." "No Rosemary, Mr.Pascal interfered and said, this now your home. Your father will not marry you , you are lucky to have a husband,all you need to do is to build your marriage and do not allow it to fall apart or breakup." "Daddy what have done wrong?" "As highlighted by your husband, there are several areas of improvement, have you cooked the food your husband will eat when he comes back?"Paul asked inquisitively "No i haven't cooked yet." This is very wrong my sister, there is time for everything. You can not be sleeping when you're supposed to work. You have to improve on everything he has complained about before your marriage will break. What do you call your husband? Paul asked. "What will i call him?his name of course?" "That does not show respect, call him my love ,my darling or sweet heart. These names make a man fell loved and respected. "Rosemary you have to show your husband that you love him, always respect your husband decision so you Can enjoy a peaceful marriage. I know my daughter married a good man. "Mr Pascal offered to say a prayer before he leaves. After daddy's prayer they embraced themselves. Daddy went and got acquainted with Paul's new mentor and left for the village. All of them became changed for good. Rosemary became the best wife ever. Mr. Pascal became the best neighbour. Mr. Michael finished his university degree and also got employment. Paul was in harmony with his masters and everybody around. Mrs. Pascal was happier then ever for the goodness of God upon their family. As it is, we have seen from this story that it is not only the father that would advice the children, When children are of age they can also advice their parents and other members of the family for unity , harmony and love of God and man. CHAPTER SIX MICHAEL AT WORK, AND HIS VISIT TO PRINCE Michael and his parents and siblings were very happy that Michael has started work. Michael did not relent in prayers. He was punctual at work and worked diligently. His boss was satisfied with his performance. He received his promotion as and when due. He was able to send some money for the up keep of his parents. Michael resolved to be humble, faithful, purposeful and accountable in the handling of this duty. Everybody in the work place loved him but fot one man called Edward. He felt that the rank Michael was employed into could have been left for him. Edward tried everything in his power to get the owner of the company to sack Michael. Michael who understood the power of prayer, started praying more seriously because he was worried why Edward hate him so much as to frame lies about him. In a dream one night,it was revealed to him 'what must be must be' what he sowed he will reap it. He was asked what Prince did to him when he was intimidating him for his father's status and as he was crying because of that, you slapped him in addition. Now, it's is your turn. "Oh ! My God is that so." "Yes it is so because the evil that men do live after them. "My God what do I do now? "God and apologize to Prince as so as possible. Michael told his brother Paul who said "please hurry and go to apologize to Prince because 'Delay is dangerous.' please you will apologize on behalf of the entire family. Michael decided to take his annual leaves to go and apologize for this youthful exuberant actions. He made contacts from people he thought would know Prince's contact address until he was able get it. He then applied for annual leave.He prayed for a successful journey. Unfortunately he had forgotten Prince's surname. The day he reached Prince's company he was disappointed. He was given the visitors for fill the name of the person he came looking for, but he was unable to remember prince's surname. Michael filled only his name Prince. "Sir, you said you are Looking for Mr. Prince.There is no Mr.prince in this company. "Sir please i don't know anyone call Prince in this company," The security said. Michael tried explaining how he looks to the security but he wasn't getting what his saying. Michael asked the security for help that he coming from a far distance." "Sir, it is not my fault. Next time you have to fill the visitor's form completely. Michael finally met with Prince. Oh Michael you have forgotten your childhood neighbour and your school mate." " Are you Michael Pascal? "Yes, I am Michael Pascal replied. "What brought you to my office you callous man who made my life unbearable during our primary school days. Yes Prince you have tge right to be annoyed with me. I deserve your anger, what of sister and your parents? Michael asked Prince while kneeling down. "Stand up, I am not God. My family is alright.God is with us. "Prince I'm here to apologize to you for the sins of my youth. How i treated you were overly callous to me; Please forgive me i have repented of my sins . I have realized I mist stay in the part of the lord in this journey of life. Michael i have forgiven you a long time ago.I have no hated towards you. please tell your parents about our meeting today and tell them that i am sorry about my past behavior. "No problem "Now you have forgiven me can you extend the same forgiveness to my brother Paul and my parents? "I have forgiven all of you. I don't hold any grudges against anybody. thank you Prince remain blessed and bye bye bye." Good bye Michael i am happy that you have changed for good." Stay blessed Michael: Amen and Amen
