When we woke up, I was more well rested than I could remember being in a long time. There was something about this that worked better than all the sexed-out exhaustion in the world. I was warm and comfortable, and as yesterday began to sink in, starting to panic. “Are you okay?” Ivy asked sleepily. “Are you awake?” I asked, rather than answering the question. I wanted to say fine, but I couldn’t because I wasn’t. I was not fine, and I didn’t want to hurt her feelings… and I may also not have wanted last night off the table. No matter how I feel now. “Don’t avoid the question,” she replied, and I shivered because even if I knew that it wasn’t going to be that easy, I had still hoped that Ivy would just let it go. “I suppose we need to talk about last night,” I said with a deep sigh.
