Dave's POV
I woke up early and headed to the headquarters. There I saw several familiar faces from our company. I know that they don't trust me. But they will see the real me now. I am 100% confident that I need to succeed. The only way for me to defy my dad's plan of having me marry Lisa is if by fulfilling his legacy.
"Let's get down to business guys. I know you know me and you don't trust me back in Manila. Now we are in Moscow. Everything here is different and so am I. From today onwards, I will be your boss. My plans and directives are what you need to follow, not from anyone in Manila. If I see any of you reporting to anyone in the main branch, then you will be set off to the next flight back home. Is that clear?" I spoke with confidence.
"Yes, sir!" They all replied.
I layed down my plans to them and I assigned all of them to do a particular task. I gave them a target and a deadline. Of course, I also promised a reward in order to motivate my team. They all sounded positive upon hearing that I will send 2 of them to Manila every month for a paid vacation if they will hit the target.
"Starting tomorrow, Martha's team will set up the manufacturing plant, Gary's will conduct the feasibility and the rest will focus on marketing and promotions. Alex is coming here to be my assistant so you can tell him the developments if ever I am not around."
"Sir, are you going to leave us here? " John, the head of Marketing asked.
"Of course not. I will stay here for 6 months with all of you."
"But you are getting married, so you might leave."
"Who says, I'm getting married?" I replied and laughed, seeing their faces look confused.
"For now, let's make sure that we can be successful here. Then we will talk about personal stuffs. Okay? Oh, I ordered food for us all. Starting today, all meals are on me. Just make sure that you all do your part."
I heard them all clap and cheer upon hearing this good news. I don't mind spending my own money just to keep their spirits high. I will be a nobody without my people. I need to win them. I stood up and looked at the window. I wonder where Candy is? What is she really doing here? I hope that she did not put herself in a mess.
Candy's POV
I woke up in an empty hospital room. I felt lonely. I sat up and saw Tatiana sleeping on the couch. She must have been tired for running a lot of errands for me. I took my phone and messaged Sarah. But she did not reply. She must have been asleep. I want to stand and walk around to ease my boredom but I am not allowed to do it for several days.
I reached for the fruit basket to eat and turned on the t.v. but I can't understand any of the programs. So, I turned it off. I accessed my social media to check what's going on back home. I noticed a few notifications and friend requests. A name caught my attention, "Dave Lee". I clicked on it. I almost stood up in surprise. How could he have sent me this request 30 days ago when we only met a week ago? Is this a system glitch? I clicked his profile to see who he is. His account is private. I googled his name and was shocked.
He is the son of the biggest chocolate manufacturing group in the country and...he recently got engaged. I sighed! I knew it. He is just one lousy playboy. I'm glad that I ditched him at the plane. What does he think of me? Someone he can hook up with? I looked at my phone again and rejected his friend request.
Now, I felt even lonelier.
