I gasped as the cold forest air whipped over my face. My body was against something firm and warm, the chaos of the rogues’ den fading behind us.
Then it hit me—Alexander’s arms were wrapped securely around me.
The electric blue of his eyes filled my blurred vision, and his scent—a calming mix of pine and winter—seemed to envelop me entirely.
