I stepped out of the healing chamber early the following morning, my body still heavy with exhaustion. The faint scent of sacred moon herbs clung to my skin, a lingering reminder of my days of recovery. My legs wobbled slightly as I walked, my steps slow but determined.
Cora stirred restlessly in the back of my mind, her irritation prickling through my thoughts. She hadn’t been her usual self since I decided to let my gratitude to Alexander go unspoken.
