Emma’s earlier voice rang in my mind faintly. Her warnings about rogue wolves crept into my thoughts as the alliance meeting dragged on.
Papers with finely printed clauses spread across the long oak table before me, but I absorbed none of it. The Northern Alpha spoke of expanding territorial rights, his voice droning like a distant hum. My mind, however, was elsewhere.
I adjusted my posture but couldn’t suppress the rolling agitation surging through me. My wolf Logan paced within me, restless and growling. He knew where my thoughts drifted.
