***Before entering the building***
"Hold your temper no matter what you see when we go inside." Lanie warned as she took a hairpin to pick the locked side door. She had filled me in that security would typically be light during this time on this side of the building.
I raised an eyebrow, wondering how she knew but her pensive nature prevented me from digging further to figure out why. Whatever it was, it seemed like Lanie and this CEO asshole were intertwined at one point. I decided to drop it as I heard a click and the door swung open.
I saw Lanie grin triumphantly before we walked inside. The smell of honeysuckles hit me immediately as my eyes widened.
