I paced as I waited for the car to return. Remembering Sophia's eyes and the hatred made Onyx whimper in pain. "We will get her back, Onyx. I promise. Don't lose hope, Onyx. I need you."
Hearing the car stop, I peered out of the window to see Lanie and her mother get out of the car. It was only a matter of time now.
"Everyone, gather in the hall in 5 minutes." I mind-linked everyone in my pack as I received the various confirmations.
Lanie and her mother walked in, escorted by my beta, Will. Will bowed respectfully towards me. "Alpha."
Raising himself after the bow, he seated Lanie and her mother before crossing the hall to stand near his mate. The rest of the pack slowly filtered in and took their seats.
