----Kieran---- ***Sophia's POV*** The next morning, the sun cracked through the window as I cracked open my eyes.  I crawled out of bed and went downstairs to see a note. “Sophia, I went to drop Mother off and take a shower for work.  Remember, you are scheduled to work at 8 AM.  Don’t be late or leave me alone again!   Love you, Lanie” I sighed at her henpecking nature.  I went upstairs to, once again, do my tedious checklist of getting ready for work.  Soon enough, I was locking my door and walking off to the restaurant. The walk was uneventful, in which I was extremely thankful for.  The flashbacks of yesterday had me darting my eyes around and hold my dagger tightly as I walked.  I arrived safely at the restaurant and started to get to work. “Good morning, Lanie!”  I called out as she peeked through the kitchen pickup window and waved. “Good morning, sis!”  She smiled softly, looking relieved that I arrived safely. I returned the smile before wiping down the tables and setting them up for service.  The doorbell sounded as I looked up, seeing a silver-haired man walk through.  He was dressed in a black and white suit that was cleanly pressed. “Excuse me, may I have a table for one?”  His voice was low, but held a sultry tone to it.  I tried to hide the shock in my eyes at how sexy his voice sounded. Looking up, the first thing I noticed was his blood red eyes.  They just looked like pools of blood.  He held an aura of dominance about him which caused me to suck in a quick breath of air as soon as I noticed it. “Right this way, sir.”  I moved and pulled out a chair for him, letting him sit and gave him a menu. His eyes scanned the menu as I couldn’t help but notice how his suit fitted him to show off his muscular body.  I refused to let him fluster me but it was difficult as he made it hard to breathe just being near him. “So, what would you recommend?  It seems like you would have good taste.”  He gazed up and smiled.  His eyes dazzled me.  I never knew that someone as charismatic as him could ever exist. A blush crept unconsciously to my cheeks as I stuttered.  “The pancakes are great here or you can do something like eggs and toast?!” “Great, I’ll order two sets of pancakes then.  One for myself and one for you.  Will you join me for breakfast?”  the man handed me the menu, gesturing to the empty seat across from him.  “Oh, sir!  I can’t!  I’m working and my sister would kill me if I sat here eating breakfast with a stranger instead of working.  I appreciate the gesture though!”  My cheeks felt like they were on fire as I felt like I was going to faint from how hard my heart pounded in my chest. “Alright then, how about after work?  Maybe if you’re free, we could get some coffee and get to know each other?  There is just something about you that I find beautiful and extremely attractive so I’d love to get to know you.  My name is Kieran,  Kieran Lugosi.”  He grinned, pushing up his black rimmed glasses further up his nose. “Kieran!  She will never be free for you!  Leave my sister alone!”  Lanie seethed, peeking her head out of the pickup window.  Lanie looked like she was about to kill him. “Lanie, this doesn’t concern you.  This is between me and this angel.  Now, please go and cook my pancakes, would you?”  Kieran said coolly, waving her off. I winced a bit at the disrespect Kieran just showed to Lanie.  That was my sister he was just speaking to but I couldn't muster up the courage to yell at him.  I looked down instead, clasping my hands as I took a few steps back. “Are you just going to toy with Sophia’s heart and leave her like you’ve done with all of the rest of the girls, Kieran?  No thanks!  Leave her alone.  Aren’t you still supposed to be mourning the disappearance of your latest girl toy?”  Lanie spat out. Feeling extremely uncomfortable with the animosity, I ran into the kitchen. "I should spit in it so he never comes back."  Lanie growled angrily, banging pots and pans angrily down against the counters and stove. "Dear, we've swapped a lot of spit back then. A bit in my food won't phase me."  I heard Kieran say as I gaped wide-eyed at Lanie. Like a bat out of hell, I saw Lanie storm out as I hid in the kitchen.  My curiosity got the best of me as I crept to where I could hear them. "Stay away from my sister!  She will never EVER be with you and she deserves better than to be your toy!"  Lanie seethed as her eyes were narrowed in pure hatred. "You dare keep me from that angel?  I only want to get to know her.  She captivates me like no other."  Kieran spoke icily as it looked like his red eyes flared.   I must be seeing things.  Human eyes don't flare like that.  His eyes seemed to mimic a fire as he regarded Lanie. "How many women have you had again?  Kieran, I'm not nor ever will I be afraid of you.  I, also, will never let you near Sophia!  I know what you truly are!"  Lanie growled lowly but it held an animalistic tone to it.  I've never heard her growl like that. That last sentence must have shocked Kieran as I saw his eyes widen.   He quickly smoothed over his features to hide the shock.  He got up from the table as he adjusted his clothes. "We are not finished here, Lanie.  I will find my way to that angel and I will get what I want."  His tone grew annoyed.  I heard him whisper something to Lanie and her audibly gasp before he walked out of the restaurant.  Lanie stomped back into the kitchen and I retreated back to the front. Her last sentence… it confused me.  WHAT he was?  He was human… right?
