Jordan Dr. Cross came in and let us know how the surgery was going. Jayson switched places with me, and he laid down to get some more rest. I continued to slowly sketch our daughter. I never noticed my dad come in because I was still sketching. “Tea?” I looked up. He handed me a cup with a lid. I took a sip and let the tea warm and soothe my dry scratchy feeling throat. “I have donuts and pastries too. Eat your fill.” He set a bag with a couple of bakery boxes in it on the stand near me.
