Revealing

“Ivy, dear, would you mind standing in front of me?” Ivy started to stand, and Al went with her. “Son.” Al looked at his dad. “I’m sorry, dad, I can’t let go of her.” Declan understanding just nodded. The pair moved in front of Declan who had stood by the time they reached him. He reached into the inside pocket of his coat. He pulled out a small sack. Ivy’s nose wrinkled. Her hand shot to her nose and immediately started gagging. Jim leapt to his feet, Sebastian and Liam were on their feet ready to catch Ivy if she were to fall. “What is that? What is wrong with her? Dad? Stop it!” Al’s voice panicked as Ivy was turning pale, coughing, and choking. Al rubbed her back looking furiously at his dad. He looked back as Ivy inhaled a breath, coughed and a small black ball flew out of her mouth on to the top of the coffee table. Then she took a breath and stood up. No longer gagging but keeping her hand covering her nose. Delcan had put away the sack. “Well, kitty coughed a hairball?” Liam said jokingly, trying to clear the tension. Mary walked over to her daughter and rubbed her free arm. “You ok, my little flower?” Ivy smiled and leaned on her mother’s shoulder. “Yeah. That was nasty and I would rather never do that again. What is it? What happened?” Eddie just sat in the front of the living room, looking at the black ball on the table. She looked up at Declan. His eyes were the only thing saying he was worried. “Sit please.” Eddie cleared her throat. “As much fun as that was, I believe we have a serious problem on our hands.” Eddie took a deep breath. “Ivy, darling girl, how has your appetite been? Have you had any sudden bursts of anger or felt mean for no reason at all?” Ivy shook her head. “No. I mean other than some PMS here and there a few weeks ago, I have felt find.” Ivy looked to Mara for confirmation. Mara nodded. “Yeah and I would be the first one to tell her if she was being a bi..beyotch.” Mara quickly changed the word she was going to say, looking at her mother and the other elders in the room. The boys let out a laugh. She all gave a dirty look. “And I have had an alright appetite, nothing fancy just like normal. Why? Can someone just please explain what is going on? I might start feeling mean in a minute.” Ivy was getting frustrated. “That ball that was inside of you, is a vampire’s satchel. Your sense of smell that was described is one of a wolf and yet you have an aura of a witch. You, my dear, is what we call a Hybrid.” Declan explained. “Although, I have never heard of all three supers being in one soul.” Declan rubbed at his chin in thought. Eddie nodded. “I went to the council many times over the years, and this was beyond most of their scope and the Elders were close to forbidding such talk as it could never happen. However, I came upon an ancient scroll that mentioned a secret pregnancy.” Eddie explained. Scroll, secret pregnancy, forbidden… “It was you!” Al yelled. All eyes faced Al. “I’m sorry?” Eddie questioned. “The Mood Goddess… how could I almost forget. Al stood up almost forgetting Ivy’s hand was in his until it started up with him. “Oops. Sorry.” He brought her hand to his lips and felt a quick zip of electricity when skin touched. “Electrifying.” Al joked. Once Al let go of Ivy’s hand, the heat immediately came back. Al could hear Shadow in the background pacing, wanting his mate. Al hushed him and he reached for his coat he had slung on the back of the couch when they first came in. He pulled out a box. “The Moon Goddess visited me last night.” Eddie and Mary’s sharp intake of breath caused Al to look up. “She said a lot about protecting a girl as she came into her powers. That I was to be of some prophecy. I am using my best judgment here and trusting you all, especially since one of you is my mate’s mother and I am kind of hoping we get along because I have heard of stories of monsters-in-law and all that...” Al started to trail off as Mary let out a loud laugh and Jim’s booming laugh over hers had Declan sighing and shaking his head with a smile. “Sorry, I don’t usually sound like a fool but hey circumstances.” Al said with a shrug. “I can feel the power from over here, can you?” Mary asked Eddie. She felt the humming pour out from the box. “The Moon Goddess forged these out of thin air, and she said when I met you, we were bound to have questions, we could put these on and be brought to her.” Al opened the box to reveal the pendants. “Oh my. They are so beautiful.” Ivy itched to touch them. She could feel the power inside the pendant. Ivy reached out and as her fingers touched the moon, she felt a tremor and instantly, the room changed. The air shimmered and Ivy was brought to another place.
