Third P.O.V. Liza - “Girl just f*****g do it, you ain’t gonna get over him if you keep moping around. Get the hell out there & take this 6 month contract, damn you it’s been 4 years already please stop stressing me out & do something for yourself for once in the last Lord knows how many years.” Nia’s best friend Liza rolled her eyes & said to her frustratedly. Nia thought it was dramatic but whatever. She understood where her friend was coming from. Nia sighed taking a sip of her milkshake then replying to Liza. Nia - “I know, I know. Thank you for watching out for me & my baby, I owe you a lot.” Liza - “Like I said, you don’t owe me a damn thing, just remember not to forget me when you get all famous and stuff.” Liza winked at her & smiled playfully while taking a sip of her own milkshake & dancing on her chair as if she was an excited kid. All Nia could think at that point was, ‘Gosh my best friend, if it weren’t for you, my daughter & I would not have a place to call home & I am so grateful for you, especially after my failed divorce that ended after 5 years of being with him.’ Nia - “how could I ever forget you.” Nia smiled back at her, as she thought about her failed marriage. Nia knows he really wanted a baby & well, She assumed he thought Nia couldn’t give him that so he left her & said he couldn’t do it anymore. Then Nia found out she was pregnant & he was the only man she had ever slept with so Nia knew it was his. Also she had been going to the doctors regularly to ensure she was getting the right medications so they could conceive. But it was all in vain, because he left her anyways. Nia always wonders if she should have contacted him & told him, but then again she tends to start overthinking everything & ends having panic attacks from her own thoughts, which leads her to having insomnia & anxiety throughout nights. That’s what always lead her to keeping her secret to herself, hence why she stays off social media & everything. If anything she has a private t****k & an i********: account but they are under a nickname of hers, that only fewer people know from when she was a child. Is she wrong for not telling him about their child? Maybe he would have stayed with her? Even so, if so, maybe she would have still been hurt by him? Too many ‘What if’s?’ Or ‘maybe’s’ kept popping in her head & it always drained her mentally. As much as Nia regretted her decision, she knew that in time she would tell him, but she also wanted her daughter to be aware of the situation first & when the time was right. Truly speaking she was waiting for her daughter to mention her Father because so far she has never asked for her Dad. Despite his final words to Nia were “I don’t ever want to see you again, nothing of your existence is to come by me. Here you thought I fell for you after the years of you trying & I still have no love for you.” Those words haunted her, she has never looked back since. ************************************* Nia took the job - the six month contract - because she loved singing & wanted to showcase her music worldwide. She put a hold on her dreams because she ended up in love & married therefore she lost track of pursuing her dreams to be a stay at home wife for her husband. She didn’t stop entirely, she would sing & write music at their home but she stopped going out and finding company’s to sign her. She had built up such a huge audience in a short time & was just getting a kick start to her career at the young age of 16. She ended up falling in love - cliché I know - but she did and loved changed her. Unfortunately it didn’t work out & she ended up being forced out of what she had once called home, her husband of 5 years had told her that he was seeing someone else. That ruined all other men for her. That ruined everything she lived to know. She even contemplated taking her own life, the two things that stopped her & it was when she found out she was pregnant & remembered her dreams & aspirations. From that moment on, she had some thing - or rather someone - to live for again. She told herself she wasn’t going to give up for the sake of her child and she would do whatever it takes to give her baby a loving and caring home & environment. It’s been four years now & she had skipped countries & moved in with her best friend after the divorce. Since then Nia has slowly picked herself back up & gave birth to a healthy & beautiful baby girl weighing 8 pounds flat. She named her daughter Starzy after her Great-Grandmother. Her daughter had the facial features of Nia but had her Father’s dark black hair & deep blue eyes. She was perfection, also adored by everyone. Nia had been given a job opportunity to go to a secluded, private & very wealthy island, where - to put it bluntly - only the rich & famous people go. She had heard about it a few times, especially considering she was married to a billionaire & she was aware of the higher circles per-se. This beautiful island was a 24 minute flight away from land but also a 18 hour flight away from where she was at the moment. On top of that she had a 3 year old daughter now & she doesn’t know if Starzy will be able to last a entire 18hr flight. Nia has actually never taken Starzy on a real plane before. Nia stays hopeful, never the less and ensures to make a mental note about taking her daughter out with her & Liza & spend as much time as they can together before Nia & Starzy leave to go to Lemai island for her new career opportunity. As they are sitting at the table having dinner, Nia remember’s to ask her daughter about the trip they are about to go on. Nia - “Star, how do you feel about going on a long plane ride?” Starzy - “A reallyy loongg plane ride mama?” She replies dragging out her words. Nia giggles & nods at her daughter. Nia - “Yes baby on a very long plane ride.” She continues eating. Starzy - “will it be this many long mama?” Starzy says while flashing both hands & all ten fingers to her Mother to indicate 10. Nia giggles at her Daughter, she can not help but to admire how adorable, curious & clever Starzy is. Nia - “it will be double that baby.” Nia told her daughter. Starzy - “Wow Mama, let’s do it.” Nia - “Okay then baby. We need to make sure we spend as much time as we can with Aunt Liza before we go because she is going to miss you like crazy.” Starzy - “Yes pease, b-coz I will miss Aunty too Ma.” Nia smiles & nods at her beautiful daughter and they continue what they were doing. ************************************* Lemai Island: Nia - “Morning baby, it’s time to wake up and have some breakfast so we can go out today.” Nia smothered her daughters face in kisses. Starzy - “it morning now mama” Her daughter looked up at her with half open eyes, still trying to adjust her eyes to the light peeking through the curtains. Nia - “Yeah baby it is.” She smiled as she kissed her daughter again. Nia - “I’ll give you 10 minutes while I do us some breakfast and then we can have our showers and get ready for our day yeah?” She questioned her daughter. Starzy - “yes mama, guu mawnin I wuv you.” Her daughter says in a sleepy voice. Nia - “Good morning my beautiful Star, I also love you to all the stars and beyond.” She walked her way back to her daughters bed while speaking & kissed her baby again. Nia couldn’t help but to stand there & admire her baby girl. She was only 3 years old but she is too smart for her own good sometimes & especially for her age. ************************************* Nia’s P.O.V. After breakfast Starzy & I done our usual shower & morning routine, then we made our way to the Gala Day that was going on for the community. We come in late last night & I felt jet lagged so I tucked myself in by Starzy who was already asleep since I had carried her off the plane. We only had one carry bag each on the plane so I was managing fine with carrying her & by the time I had to collect our luggage, I was offered a hand which I was grateful for. I then found out that the person helping me is part of the workers hired to assist us on our stay - no wonder why he called me by ‘Mam Carter’ I thought to myself, gosh I don’t know where the heck my head is at sometimes. I can be such a i***t. I was told I had a personal driver, they had already taken care of my accommodations for the next six months as well as my meals. I had never been here, but I heard about how beautiful it is & I couldn’t disagree what so ever with everything I heard about this place. It is breathtaking and it feels as if you can come here to restart and rebuild your life, it is truly a paradise. The people here are lovely & definitely take care of their own backyards I guess that’s why it’s such a private island because the people who occupy the land are very traditional & always take excellent care of the place they call home & they don’t want anyone disturbing or disrespecting the peace & home they have found here among themselves. Tina - “Hi Nia, hello there Starzy. How are we this morning?” Starzy - “Hi.” My baby says while smiling shyly, she was asleep last night when I met Tina. Nia - “Good morning Tina, we are excited for the Gala today. How’s everything going so far?” Tina - “oh it’s been great sweetie, everything has been moving along & going so well.” Nia - “I’m so happy to hear that, please give me a yell if there’s anything at all that I can help with. Starzy & I will be floating around for the day.” I say as we begin to walk away & continue around. Tina - “Thank you Dear, I will.” She smiled and waved as we leave. I met Tina last night when I checked in, she works as the receptionist. I asked her if she knew anything about the popular Gala that is held here twice a year & she informed me about the Gala being pulled together by her twice a year, Tina told me everything I needed to know. The Gala was great, we meet a lot of beautiful lovely people, actually I didn’t come across a single rude person here. Starzy went on nearly every single bouncy castle, ride and toy that there was here for the children, we ate so much food & treats. We even tried a lot of new things that we hadn’t tried before and barely came across ones we didn’t like, it was an amazing day. I really believe we are going to enjoy ourselves here. Starzy - “Mama, when I get home I wanna ring Aunty Liza an tell her I got a big tummy from food today.” Starzy says while rubbing her tummy that was clearly visible that she is bloated & she is giggling at her own words. I laugh with my daughter and bend over to kiss Starzy. Nia - “We will do exactly that baby, we got one more hour left and then all the toys will be getting packed away. Would you like to stay a bit longer or are you ready to take your big tummy home to rest.” Nia giggles while saying the last part & approaches her daughter in an attempt to tickle her stomach. Starzy covers her tummy and smiled up at her Mum who stops her movements and smiles back. Starzy - “Can we pease stay for this many more minutes?” Starzy says while smiling from ear to ear & flashing her fingers to me twice, indicating 20. Nia - “Okay baby you got 20 minutes, Mum will wait right here watching you while I tidy up. Don’t forget your tickets, make sure you try to use them all before we leave.” She says handing Starzy the tickets for the rides & games. Starzy - “Yes okay, see soon Mum.” She said while running off to the Shrek bouncy castle. I giggle knowing that my daughter is not exactly like other little girls. She loves Frozen, but not any other Cinderella, princess or barbie type things. She loves Shrek a lot & enjoys watching Garfield, farm animals, sea animals, Kung Fu Panda, Toy Story & a few others as well. She is different & unique my baby Starzy is, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I needed to clean up this table where Starzy & I sat to eat. I piled our rubbish into a plastic bag leaving it on the chair so I could take it to the rubbish bin after I had finished wiping off our - well my daughter’s - mess on the table & her chair. I threw my bag over my shoulder, grabbed the other bag holding Starzy’s toys & gifts in it & the bag holding our rubbish & I walked to the bin still ensuring I could see Starzy from where I was & spotted her rolling down the Shrek slide with another little girl & they were beaming in laughter while there eyes sparkled with happiness. My heart was delighted at the sight. I put the rubbish in the bin & turnt to make my way over to Starzy. As I took two steps forward I crashed with a solid wall - well a body - and it The first two months have flown by & I have fallen in love with this island and the people who live & breathe this home that they have built for themselves.
