6 FRIENDS

Jane was absent from school for a week, so Clara decided to visit her after school.

Before she left, she was stopped by Taylor, who wanted to talk to her for a while, but she was too busy to have his time because she just prefers being alone since Jane isn’t around, and it was a boring day for her without Jane being around, so she and Taylor met on the way, and they indulged in a conversation on their way to Jane’s place.

Taylor: Hi, I’m Taylor

Clara: Hi, I already know who you are. She grins

Taylor: He smiled, really?

Clara: Yes, really, and by the way, sorry about the other day.

Taylor: It’s okay, so why did you act like you didn’t know me?

Clara: Because I don’t need a babysitter.

Taylor: Wow, I’m not a babysitter. So, you don’t have any friends except Jane?

Clara: I have been friends for a long time; I just don’t have time to keep them anymore. I prefer being all by myself but am okay with just being friends with Jane.

Taylor: And why is that so?

Clara: Do you ask many questions like this? I don’t remember us being friends.

Taylor: Wow! I’m sorry about that; I just wanted us to be friends. Is it that bad?

Clara: Oh dear, that’s so bad, because you are so not welcome.

Taylor: What if I refuse to give up until we are friends?

She just smiled and left, and Taylor was speechless at her actions and words.

After a long stroll from school, Clara met Jane outside her house, feeding her dog, Clara said, so you have a pet

Jane looked up and saw that it was Clara. Out of joy, she jumped and hugged her, and she said, So you came to see me?

Clara said, You are my friend, and you also visited me when I was down. Jane welcomed her in and showed her to her room, and they chitchatted and talked about Taylor.

Clara asked, How come you know Donald and you don’t know Taylor?

Jane answered, Was I with my dad? Your dad Clara said.

Yes, my dad, Jane said

Clara was confused

Jane said, I have something to tell you, but it has to be a secret between us.

Clara said, Why did you say so?

Jane said, Aren’t we friends, or are you not my best friend anymore?

Clara was speechless.

Jane said I know you are hurting because you believe you won’t live long because you are sick and on drugs, but we are friends, and I want to tell you about my family and my life.

Clara asked, What is that?

Jane said it’s my story, and Clara promised to keep it a secret. We are best friends for life.

Jane said it all started 12 years ago.

THE KEN’S FAMILY

Jack and I are twins, and we are vampires, and our dad abandons us with our mom. We grow up not knowing who our dad was or even having any memories of him, and we love our mom because she has taught us a lot. We protect the humans against our own kind. Jack grew up with Taylor, but I had no idea or ever met Taylor until after a few years when I met you, Clara. That is how I was able to find out that Taylor was my brother’s best friend since childhood.

Mr. Ken is my father, and he is known to be the most dangerous vampire, and our kind fears him, even his own wife, who is my mom. They divorced the day she found out that he was the killer of Michael Peterson’s family. She was scared of him, so she ran away with us, and he didn’t bother looking for her and us; he already knew where we were, so he sent in his divorce paper, and they finalized it, and he abandoned us. Except for me, his aim and purpose were to kill a little girl, whose name I don’t know, but she is related to the Michael Peterson family. He was told by a witch that she would be the most powerful Tribrid and that she would destroy him, rule the vampire world, and bring peace among the vampires and humans, but he was against it all, so he decided to kill her parents, and in the end, he didn’t succeed in killing her.

Jack and I grew up peacefully, and we made friends

Taylor and Donald were Jack friends, and me, on the other hand, was one of the Tricksters. I wasn’t a bully, but everything changed when the Trickster figured out that I was a vampire and I was against their code of killing instead I was protecting humans. That’s why they were trying to kill her, but they didn’t succeed, and thanks to you, they didn’t succeed again.

I was Donald’s crush, but I decided to keep no friends after the trickster tried to kill me. Donald Frank was the only human among us, and he was also friends with Taylor and Jack, but he never knew that his friends were vampires. I don’t think Taylor isn’t a vampire like us; he is a phoenix.

Donald had a kid sister who had a crush on Jack, yet she kept it to herself. Growing up together, we all faced a lot, but what kept us going was love.

Clara was confused and scared.

Jane said, You are not saying anything?

Clara said, Can I ask you a question?

Yes, Jane answered.

With all this that you have said, does it mean vampires exist?

Jane was surprised that Clara has no idea because everyone does at George Washington.

Clara promised to keep it a secret since they are not just friends but the best of friends.

Clara went home that day pondering what Jane said and trying to understand what if my parents are also one because they don’t eat food; they only cook for me, but I have never seen them eat.

Those were her thoughts till she slept off.
