“What do you mean?” I was running through the fortress as hurriedly as I could, as I wasn’t sure what to call what was happening at the moment. “Are you really serious?”
“They were here… just a few minutes ago after we had driven them out. And now, they are nowhere to be found.” Ronan’s tone brimmed with shock and frustration.
I was done hearing about it and was soon setting out to go see it for myself. It was just as he had said. They were all gone.
“It had been a decoy…” I breathed out angrily as I was about to lose control of Ted. I was clinging to the last thread of self-restraint that I had.
