Friday morning, not wanting to crack under the pressure and ruin the night’s surprise by telling Jarod about his family, Tyler made it out of the house without seeing him. Even though Tyler’s stomach was jittery and his hands sweaty, he was exceedingly excited for what would happen.
He made it home an hour before they were to leave. Tyler blamed his inability to stay still and frequent giggles on the fact he and Jarod were going to their favorite restaurant. Jarod, not suspecting anything, it seemed, thought the dinner was an early celebration of his birthday because they couldn’t secure reservations on the actual date. Tyler couldn’t wait to witness Jarod’s face when he walked into the restaurant and spotted his family.
