Axel's POV

One Week Later

Walking out of a just concluded pack meeting dad said "You make me so proud son, watching you in there as you made decisions and judged matters reasonably has made me realize that you're more than ready"

"Are you saying what I think you're saying"I said in shock

"Yes son during the next full moon I will officially relinquish the position of Alpha to you, it's time" he said

"Wow, thank you so much dad, you won't regret putting faith in me"

"I know"he stated

"So about the girl, have you found her"he enquired

"No I haven't, her friend said she needs space so even tho it's killing me I can't do anything about it.I really want to see her"I said sadly

"I know how you can get to see her " my sister said in a singsong voice

"Really? How? Where? .....Mitchelle don't joke with me" I warned

"Well you see, I am a very hard working girl you see, when I go for training at the pack grounds people are usually impressed by my swiftness" she said

So what? You're an alpha's daughter, you're supposed to take your training seriously, what does that have to do with me" I replied

"You see life is very beautiful,I have multiple teachers that I see everyday when I train" she continued to say, feeling irritated I started to walk away "and amongst those teachers that are proud of me includes a particular blonde,green eyed lady"she said mischievously, hearing that I stopped on my tracks and ran back to her

"Really you mean if I go to the pack grounds I'll see Avery?! " I asked urgently

"Hmm says the man that was walking away during the conversation, well I'm no longer in the mood to talk" she replied

"Dad! I need Michelle to stop playing around" I complained

"You decided to walk away in the middle of a conversation and that's on you" he smirked at me then left us

"My sweet adorable and favorite sister "I said sweetly

"I'm your only sister" she stated

"That's more reason why you should help me"I wailed

"Ok get ready you'll follow me tomorrow she said

"You're the best" I said giving her a peck

"Why are you so excited" mom asked

I'm going to see my mate tomorrow " I replied cheerfully

"That's beautiful but be careful don't go all Alpha on her that would only scare her away"she advised

"I understand mother" I replied her . I was looking forward to tomorrow, I couldn't wait for the day to end.

Avery's POV

It has been more than a week since the whole mate introduction happened and I haven't seen Axel since then my wolf and I was feeling down about it. I thought of going to the pack house to see him but what would I say? What if he has already replaced me would I be able to handle it? thoughts like this occupied my mind.

I was on my way to the pack grounds for training because as much as I was feeling sad I couldn't just sit at home and sulk. Also since Claire and I haven't spoken I saw her sometime last week and she pretended like she didn't see me so I'm done with her, I won't beg her to forgive me because I didn't do anything wrong but if she comes to her senses we could continue being friends.

"Hello Avery," one of the pack trainers Chloe said as I got to my destination

"Heyy Chloe" I replied. Chloe and I have always been friends we are the only females that are pack trainers while she focuses on training in wolf form I focus on defending myself in human form because I was better on two legs and It is hard for me to control my wolf when I've shift and last time I tried I couldn't shift at all but no one knew this, that was because I didn't want to worry my parents plus that would just add to the reasons my dad would have for keeping me at home which is not happening.

"Ok gather round everyone today we'll be working on-" I smelled him before I saw him, I turned my head towards the source of the scent and there he was. I wasn't the only one staring at him, he commanded atten$tion I guess it's an alpha thing because all eyes were on him, including some she-wolves adjusting themselves in front of him. I let out a low threatening growl at them, they became frightened and turned away from him. Now because my growl eyes were on me blushing I turned back to the kids "Alright we will start with warm-ups"I commanded. While they started to warm up, I began to take off my shirt, this was something I always did because I didn't want to sweat on my shirt but today it felt different like something intimate because I could feel his eyes on me, why is he even here? he should go back home he's making me uncomfortable

"Our mate is looking at us" my wolf yelled in excitement

"You're gonna give me a headache," I said to her

I was determined to ignore his presence and focus on what I was going to do today

So everyone, as I've said earlier if you can recall, punching someone in the face with your fist is not optimal.You will most likely break your hand but scratching someone on the face or striking with the palm of your hand might be effective enough to fend off an attacker.An Important thing I want you to know is that another way to protect yourself is running, when you have accessed your opponent enough to know that you are the weaker compeditor, sometimes you need to put your ego aside and get out of a dangerous situation.The best way to do this is....."Are you seriously teaching them to be cowards" a voice said behind me.Turning to stare at my mate I replied "I'm not teaching them to be cowards, I'm teaching them how to stay alive,it's foolishness to start a fight you know you'd lose, Alpha"

"Sounds like cowardice to me, so rather than stay and defend their pack and their loved ones you are telling them to run?"

By this time I was already pissed "They are not old enough to make such decisions they are still young! I will not encourage any of my pack members to get themselves killed, we will train them to be strong enough but until they are I would like them to avoid danger. And with all due respect Alpha this is my class. I do not appreciate interruption from anybody" i said glaring at him but when I stared at him I was shocked to find out that instead of an angry expression like I expected because i yelled him I found him looking at me with admiration. I didn't know if I wanted to blush or to slap him

"Ok everyone we are going for a run today,I'll grant the fastest runner a wish"

"Yayy" they all cheered

"They should do the race in their wolf form"Chloe suggested

"Yes you're right" i agreed "They shouldn't run deep into the woods "

"Avery can we talk"I heard Axel say

"I and the patrol warriors can look after the children so don't even try to use that excuse "Chloe said with a smirk

"Traitor" I muttered walking towards Axel

"Hey" that was literally all I could say? I thought mentally face palming

"Hi,let me get straight to the point this isn't working, I know you said you needed space away from me but I can't stay away from you any longer"

"I never said that,I thought you were mad at me for embarrassing you by running away,I was scared you thought of rejecting me" he growled "Don't say such things, I've never even considered that.I only stayed away because Claire said it was what you wanted"

"She was probably just looking out for me but I never said that.To be honest Claire and I haven't spoken to each other for about a week now" i replied.

"What issues is this about-" he started......nevermind it's not Important I hope you are able to work it out" he finished

"Me too"

"I'm just happy that you want me"he said

"Why won't I want you,I mean the mating bond aside look at you" I said laughing

"So you only want me for my good looks "he said feigning hurt

"Oh shut up"i replied

"Why is my mate so violent"he said......"I'm not violent" I replied defensively

"Don't worry, I like it "I just got a mind link from my father, so I have to go back. I am glad we got to talk about our issues today, would you like to meet with me tomorrow "he said

"Yes I would love to"

At this point if he said I should run away with him I might have said yes. We hugged then I told him goodbye then i joined the rest people in the woods

"Look who has decided to join us" Chloe said with a smirk

"Whatever let's get back to training"

After the training was over, I was on my way home when I got a phone call from Claire saying we should meet up and talk so I was at the spot she told me to meet her

"Hi, Avery I'm so glad you came I was scared that you wouldn't come considering how bad I've been acting towards you"she said

"It's cool, you were just hurt" I said

"No,it's not cool. I am very sorry, you just met your mate instead of being happy for you I acted very badly. I truly am sorry,please forgive me "she pleaded

"You are already forgiven"i said and we hugged

So how have things been? How are things with Axel she asked then I proceeded to tell her everything.
