A plan

Seren - Seren walked down the steps of the grand home, noticing how unkempt it was. Vines covering the windows, dead plants lined the path and driveway. A fountain sat at the bottom of the staircase, the water had stopped running time ago. The water stood stagnating with algae. “Putrid, just like him!” She muttered angrily to herself. As she reached the bottom, she could hear a whistle behind her. She frowned and shook her head, continuing down the path and towards the rusting gates. Kicking pebbles and rocks as she walked. “Imagine, coming to your saviour to be turned down” Seren froze, a man’s voice. She could feel darkness swarming around her, her hairs began to stand on end as she felt his presence. “But now I’ve found you” he whispered in her ear, laughing to himself. Before Seren could move, she was twisted around, falling on her back. Above her was a huge man, with pale, mottled skin. His face and mouth were covered with blood, which dripped onto her face as he smiled, showing his long fangs protruding. He laughed manically, holding out long, sharp claws as if he was about to strike. “I’m really going to enjoy this.. like I enjoyed the others” he chuckled again, moving his face closer to hers. Seren turned away from him out of fear, exposing her neck as she did. This excited him more, he began sniffing at her like a starved dog. “Please” she cried, trying to push against him. “Please don’t kill me” she sobbed loudly. The vampire drooled over her, he could barely contain himself with great hunger. She could feel the fangs digging into her skin as she tried to fight him off. She tried summoning her powers, feeling tingles through her hands, but nothing came. In seconds, but what felt like a life time, her body felt lighter. She remained frozen on the floor, and shut her eyes tightly. Was this it? Was this death? Was she to be with her family? The only thing she wanted was her family, and whether they were true, she loved them greatly. As a child, she remembered being left alone, finding their kindness and warmth as they brought her into their home. But that was gone now too. After a short time, she was still laid on the ground, almost in shock that nothing had happened. She opened her eyes, frowning and searching for the sound of struggle and drowning gasps. Looking in the final scream’s direction, stood a dark figure, covered in scars. It’s skin a dark blue, and long black hair covered its shoulders. It stood before the body of the vampire, blood dripping from it’s hand. Again, frozen in place, she stared at the creature. It wore what looked like armour, shining against the sun. It was blinding, but she couldn’t look away. In the next moment, with a flash of a dark mist, it knelt before her. It held out its hand to help her to sit up, it was gentle and forgiving but it didn’t disguise how she could feel its power, the darkness that hid beneath. As it breathed, the sounds of souls trapped inside echoed, like there was more than one breathing at a time. “Miss Nava?” It spoke, the voices echoed with malice and evil. Vlad - Vlad stared at Aleera before speaking. “Miss Nava?” He asked, his form spoke with him. He watched as she passed out into his arms, expecting her reaction. He sighed deeply, cradling her into his arms and making his way back into the house. Helga hurried before him, he knew she would have questions. “Sir?” She asked, sounding concerned. “We will let her rest in the guest room, I think that was the evidence I needed” he replied, handing her over to Helga. For bones, she had incredible strength. A short while later - Turning back into his human form, Vlad sat in his study once again. The body of the vampire had been taken to the crypt, realising had met this one before, many, many years before. Werian was his name. He had witnessed as Werian tortured and burnt down a village, one that he was too late to save. This vampire mocked and taunted Vlad since that day, and to strike once more outside his own home made his blood run cold. “Sir?” He heard Helga approach. “What of the girl when she wakes?” She asked, sitting in a chair opposite the desk. Vlad leant back in the chair and folded his arms against his chest. “First I need to find out more about her coven, why he would target them” he began, paying attention to the many books he had gathered on his desk. “And an apology?” Helga asked, leaning forward. Vlad raised an eyebrow, looking directly at her. “Fine” he rolled his eyes. “An apology will be second”
