Normally avoiding the bigger communities, Nora ignored my warnings. “Things are tough. The lands are dry and we’re all doomed, no doubt. War is close. We need medicines.” We trudged through the darkening forests toward the town and found a small enclosed cluster of trees outside of the gates where the horses should be safe.
