Chapter 19 – Sera
After the activities, Aldich girls had to return to their school.
Fancy buses were lined up along the driveway, and girls from Aldich were hugging, squealing and dragging their suitcases toward their chaperones.
Boys from our school helped tossing bags into the luggage compartments or pretending they weren’t watching the dramatic farewell the girls were having all about kisses and teary goodbyes.
It was chaos but the good kind of chaos because I could hide in.
I had my backpack slung over one shoulder and my earbuds in but there was no music playing, because pretending not to listen was easier than actually not listening.
