Her shakes were worse than usual as she lowered her head. Julians panic as strong as the smell of the varnished floors. The moment her entire body entered the air, i could see what she hadn’t. Her eyes became unfocused as they struggled to stay on me. Her teeth bleeding once again. I caught her frail little body as her shaking became out of control. By the look on Julian’s face, this isn’t common. The pink foam forming around her jowls is a sure sign of a seizure, except she’s awake. She can feel her body sieze. Her cries breaking my heart as she fought herself. The snapping of her teeth, the kicking of her legs, I wish I can take that pain away. -she trusts me. I trust you. Don’t let me regret it- julian pleaded as he ran along beside me. I’m glad she let him back in. As much As i equally hated a male being so close to her. Even if he’s just a boy. But he plays a huge part in keeping her here. Giving me that time I need to mend that connection. My pack is safe while julian has her focus. The maternal instinct in full force. Which isn’t common amongst the females. Maternal yes, but only for their own pups. Never for another’s. The bond between them stronger than julian and Daniels. It’s unheard of. But given the circumstances, it’s understandable. -grace is looking for you- Sebastian said. -not now- I kicked open the door to the hospital, seeing dr Owen flicking a syringe. “A relaxant” he said patting the table. I laid zia down, feeling like a tight muscle on the brink of snapping as her body left my arms. Her eyes white as the green disappeared up into her skull. I glanced at the door, as graces scent came closer and closer. -want me to handle this?- luka asked. I don’t understand what she’s doing here to be completely honest. Only yesterday I told her as much of the truth as she deserved. Avoiding her questions on who my destined mate is. I met her in the hallway, what once made me feel like a 16 year old boy with uncontrollable s****l need, had well and truely been switched off. The way she swung her hips as she walked always got a rise out of me. Now it just looks over done. “Hey baby, I’ve been looking for you” she placed her hands on my chest, pursing her lips. Directing them up at me, waiting eagerly for me to kiss her. Her touch made me sick, she didn’t deserve that. I created that from my own insecurities. She’s a sexy woman, powerful and intelligent. She would make an alpha extremely happy. Just Not this one. I gently grabbed her shoulders, holding her back at arms length. She’s not as short as zia, her long legs a beautiful characteristic that I once dreamt of. “We spoke about this, grace” I calmly said, trying to not get the spoilt she wolf worked up. “I have good news. I’ve been doing some research. A mark on your chosen mate will stick once you verbally reject your fated mate” My mark rejecting her went as well as a bowl full of warm vomit. Her need to find out why it would had her spending most of her time in the pack library. I had expected to be shared the findings eventually. “It just didn’t seem right that the goddess could be so cruel. I’ve been by your side since we were 16. I’ve grown to be what you need. We have built us for this” We did, I can’t deny that. And before zia, a loveless mate bond was something I thrived for. The agreement had always been exactly that. I made that clear from the start. Though I didn’t love her, I do care for her. The last thing I ever wanted is to hurt her in this way. But when I seen zia everything changed, just with her being close the feeling of being complete bypassed anything I’ve ever felt before. I hadn’t heard her voice, seen her human form, and though just seeing her with all her abnormalities, the impact is unexplainable. “Nows not the time” I had no intention of lying to her, but I didn’t have the time at this moment to deal with an uprising. I needed to be beside zia, it’s all I had until I can feel her again. “To what? Talk about this or reject her?” She crossed her arms beneath her t**s. Usually a magnet for my eyes. “I just don’t have time to focus right now. We will continue this later” “That mutant is more important right now? Than me? Is that what you are saying?” My eyes narrowed at her choice of words. I didn’t need to worry about her realizing that zia is in fact my destined mate, graces materialistic personality just wouldn’t comprehend that possibility. “And you want to be Luna of this pack?” My disappointment bleeding through my words. A whimper left her realizing her mistake. Putting herself before the pack. Her judgemental words, and her lack of care for a sick wolf, is not the way of a Luna.
