She started pulling away, this time, I held her in place.
“Where do you think your going?” I asked against the top of her head.
“I don’t know”
“Then Your not going anywhere” I told her “my wolf refuses it. As do i”
I need to see how the tests are going on the lycan. The more I’m near her, the more I see her deteriorating. And these past 2 weeks keeping my distance, has made the changes in her painfully obvious.
I can’t help think that the woman I’m holding right now, isn’t the woman I thought.
Instead, it’s her wolf. With a very small side of zia. And a very big chance of the lycan taking over.
“Zia” I walked her backwards to the desk, sitting her up on it so she is slightly higher.
Her legs wrapped tightly around my thighs as her fingers gripped my shirt.
“Cyn, I need to speak with zia” I ran my knuckles around her face, removing the strands of hair that escaped her messy bun.
Her eyes became tired as she blinked.
“Hey” I could tell instantly that it’s zia in front of me “you need to be honest with me sweetheart. How much control do you have?”
“I’m tired” the Sound of defeat hurting my ears.
“Has this been since you met me?”
She looked away from me.
“Please zia. It’s ok. Tell me”
She nodded.
The only thing I can think of is the mate bond.
“I’m going to try something. You will feel very different. I don’t want you to panic, let it take it’s course. Ok?”
She didn’t say anything, just weakly nodded.
Marking her without her permission is an asshole thing to do. But it’s the only thing I can think of.
Tethering her to me, will allow me to know everything she’s going through. It will calm max and cyn.
The internal battle over me will cease, knowing she would have me.
I know the risks. Her blood might kill me. But I have faith in the moon goddess to have given me the strength to handle my mate in any form she takes.
I moved in to her, threading my fingers into the back of her hair. Keeping a firm grip on her head.
I ran my tongue over her marking place, tasting the soft delicate skin.
A soft moan left her, my teeth pressing against her skin. Not quite breaking through.
Her moan made me turn boneless. Me. Not my wolf.
I pulled my teeth back, placing soft delicate kisses up her throat.
Hoping like hell that I’ve made the right choice. I’ve gambled with her life once, and though I’m doing this blind, marking her felt like the same gamble.
A mark is for our wolves. Not for our humans.
Our humans are about love. Not dominance. Not claiming what we desire.
Her mouth hung slightly ajar as I reached her jaw.
“Zia?”
“Hmm?”
“Stay with me. I want this time with just you” I nibbled at her chin, savouring the taste of her skin as I made my way to her lips.
“Ok”
I took her bottom lip in between mine, her eyes closed as she let me explore.
She didn’t pull away, or panic.
The heat in her body rising with every second.
Her fingers wrapped in my shirt loosened as they travelled over my chest.
I took her mouth, gently. Showing her what kissing is about. She started to meet my lips, her mouth opening more and more every time.
Max growled with each soft little moan she filled my mouth with.
I couldn’t get enough.
Waiting for her to come to me, was a mistake. I could’ve been showing her how much she means to me these past weeks.
I’m painfully hard, wanting to be in her more than ever before. But I needed to be patient.
I don’t know what exactly has happened to her, but the thought of what could’ve not only made me want to go on a rampage, but more than ever needed her to know I’m not what she knows.
Wolves are not known to be gentle. Their need very much takes over. That can’t happen with zia. Probably not in the near future.
Not until she’s one with cyn and their needs match up.
“Zia?” I needed to be sure. I didn’t have time to love cyn right now.
“It’s me” she blushed, as I released the messy bun in cascades of dark brown hair down her back.
“How do you feel?” I ran my hands up and down her sides, waiting eagerly for her answer as her wet swollen lips invited me to taste them more.
“Like Theres dancing bees in my belly” she gave me an awkward look.
At first, I panicked. But her scent didn’t smell sickly.
There’s sure as f**k no way I knocked her up with just a kiss. Though vamp blood kills wolves and werewolf’s haven’t existed for a very long time.
So anything is possible.
“People call them butterflies. It happens when you are nervous but excited about something new. Is that how you are feeling?”
She nodded.
Which I’m thankful for.
Though dr Owens has been giving her relief for the rabies until the cure is made, the disease itself is as rare as the lycans.
There’s been very little studies done on it. So I couldn’t rule out rabies as the cause for her belly upset.
“I know your tired. But I need you to stay with me” I ran my thumb over her bottom lip “we need to talk”
Her droopy eyes waited intently.
“Do you and cyn communicate?”
“Sometimes. Less lately”
“Because of me?”
“She believed you when you said I’m your mate” she sadly said.
“But you didn’t?”
“No” her eyes glassed over.
I sidled in closer between her thighs.
“I always wished for one. But, I’m a beast. I didn’t think I could have one”
“You are far from a beast” I pulled her in to my chest nuzzling her hair with my nose “how do you feel about it now? Me? Us?”
“I thought I’d know. Like I could sense it. That’s what…” she stopped.
I chose to ignore what she didn’t want to say.
“Your meant to. I knew the first moment I seen you. But then it stopped. Only now I’m getting some scents back”
“So You aren’t sure?” The uncertainty making her back stiffen.
“Oh, I’m sure. Never been more sure of something in my life” I took her relaxing as opportunity to inhale her scent “do you want me zia?”
She nodded her head against me, even though I could still sense her upset.
“Are you sure?”
She nodded again.
“Why don’t you smell sure?”
She shrugged.
The salty smell of tears quickly catching my attention. I’m scrambling to find the right words to say.
Instead I lifted her up, folding my arms beneath her beautiful cushioned ass.
Her arms wrapped around my neck as she placed her cheek on my shoulder.
“Your scared of me?” The thought of her feeling that way, left a range of emotions swirling in my stomach.
“I don’t know” she sniffed.
“Please don’t be. I could never hurt you” I brushed her ear with my lips “I would like to take you to my den. But not if that will make you more scared”
Max didn’t like the sound of not having her with us. I didn’t either.
I’ve waited weeks to have her against me in this way. As it is, I know I’ll struggle putting her down.
But I wanted her to have a choice. Something she’s very rarely had.
“What would you like to do?”
“Do you want to breed with me?”
Though I knew what she was implying, it didn’t help my need at all.
I lifted her a bit higher so she couldn’t feel the effect her words had on me against her core.
“Not to create an army. No” i cleared my throat, hoping she can’t smell my need “I would like to be intimate with you when you are ready. Whether that be in months or years, I will wait. But I already know I don’t want to share you. Even with my own pups. So that is off the cards for a long time”
She became softer against me. Her little frail body didn’t have the weakening effect I had thought it would create. Quite the opposite.
I now have a weakness, that’s a certainty, but that just makes me stronger.
The need to protect her is like nothing I’ve felt before. To give her what she deserves. To let her live the life of freedom. Where she smiles and laughs. No looking over her shoulder.
“You promise?”
“I can’t wait until you can smell me” I pulled my head back to look down at her, her concern wouldn’t exist “I’d promise you the moon if I could”
-the lycan has escaped-
The moment I stepped into the hallway, I took a cautious glance left then right.
It had no scent. Just like the lycan part of zia.
-how long ago?-
-5 minutes or so-
-find it. I have zia-
-on it-
I felt her head press harder against my chest, her eyes burning into my cheek.
“What is wrong?”
“Nothing you need to worry about” I soothed taking the opportunity to taste her lips again.
“There’s-“
A deep growl shook the walls, from down the stairs.
Zias arms tightened around my throat, nearly decapitating me with her strength. Her heart raced as she swung her head around looking for the creature.
-he is in the pack house-
“I’ve got you” I held her head against my chest. Going over my options.
This will not be a matter of the lycan losing all its senses in a lust crazed daze as he chased her.
This will be a fight for her. In an area that Just won’t hold the 2 of us.
“I need you to trust me” I told her “in my office, beneath my desk there’s a small compartment. Stay in there until I come for you”
I lowered her to her feet, not taking my eyes from the stairs.
-has dr owens got all the samples?-
-I believe so- luka confidently replied.
-then this is for the kill. If there’s an opening. Take it-
The moment zia had disappeared into my office, I made my way down the stairs.
Meeting him in the pack living quarters.
